A assim chamada "Zona" é uma área altamente contaminada, isolada pelos militares e que é atualmente varrida pelos "stalkers", modernos caçadores de recompensa à procura de artefatos únicos. No papel do agente Alex Degtrayarev, que se disfarça como um "stalker", o jogador terá que investigar o misterioso desaparecimento de cinco helicópteros militares para que possa assim resistir ao ataque de vários grupos de "stalkers".

No other game gives me the experience of sitting around a campfire with my bros drinking vodka and eating smoked sausage while listening to a guy strumming his guitar before getting my face ripped off by an invisible bloodsucker which then makes me sigh in frustration at the crash log now being displayed on my screen.

>Buy game on sale
>Start game
>Gets spawned in the middle of nowhere
>Finds 2 friendly stalkers
>The leader tells me how to reach the nearby city
>When they turn around I try to kill them
>Hardly manage to get out alive but I got vodka!
>Make my way to this place inside a ship they call town
>Some gangsta guy tells me he has a mission for me
>I have to go with some guys and raid a nearby washed ship
>At night

>We enter sneaky into the ship then go guns blazing on them
>We finish rather fast and it's still dark outside
>I wanted to leave the ship then I hear some guys getting brutally murdered then some freaky sounds

>Spend 4 hours with these dudes on the ship. In this time we get attacked by a pack of strange mutant dogs and some crazy dude
>The moment I see light i go outside in search of some side quest
>I meet up with some dude and we investigate an abandoned building for bloodsuckers

>AGAIN I barrely make it out to the ship with like 1 HP and my eyes hurt like hell

Perhap's the most polished of them all, with a heck load of improvement's and solidness from the u-i to the gameplay.

Gameplay
+ Spot-on atmosphere.
+ Option to free-play at end.
+ Combat is once again twicthy but solid.
+ Many new item's, medicine's and lil weapon's.
+ Improved hud & perhap's the best of them all.
+ Reward's really feel like reward's & have better loot.
+ Weapon's now really feel like weapon's & they hit.
+ Mini-map and world-map has once again been polished on.
+ A.i has been improved in many aspect's & doesn't bug so often.
+ Side-quest's have been very improved & made upon interesting.
+ Wearable's most better here due to option's of removing helmate's,more upgrade's.
+ Reputation system, you can side between 2 faction's which differ to different consequences.

- Game can be very-easy at the lowest-difficulty.
- Artifect's can make up for easier farming as they respawn upon every emmision.

Story
+ Multiple ending's.
+ Each mission is set at a great pace & balance.
+ Just same old scary at time's but more better pacing.
+ Over-all story is more interesting as it's from a different angle.

- Cutscenc's are pretty sucky.

Design ( Graphic's ) Included
+ Many improved-animation's.
+ Lighting improved on many aspect's.
+ Improved & responsive u-i and interface.
+ Finely-optimized can run on low-end rig's.
+ Over all area's are more better looking & planned.
+ Menu & the whole atmosphere is even more spot-on here.
+ All item's have nice-quality picture's as well more information.
+ All model's have been improved same for all the over-all aspect's.

- Many micro-stutter's in between.

Sounds( + OST )
+ Sound's from enviromental to gun's are simply so pleasing.
+ Strange random sound's really add immersion.
+ Music is good-on & just fine.

- Voice acting is one of the more worser & purely laughable.

Conclusion
Many improvement's & a feeling of being in a different zone, a whole-world of polishness & enjoyment is available here.
