Interesting ideas horribly executed.
Intresting design with funny references. A few good ideas like Level, companions, equipment and dropable items. BUT said items have absolutelly no prgoression (3 difficutly stages, but you always get items dorpped that you get in first difficulty with absolutely useless stats). 2 out of 4 Levelup attributes are useless, and Luck is useless too, once you get up to 200. Compaion is stale, since from 100+ companions all do the same, besides haveing addtional slots for items(that are useless later on anyways).
Overall the overall coding of this game is horrific and the game feels like an unfinished school project.

Suffers from being one of the only clicker games in town that you can't actually play idle, which is sorta detrimental to the idea of idle games as a whole. All clicker games get incredibly grindy incredibly quickly, and this one is no exception, but the fact that you have to be active for the entirey of that grind pretty much kills it.

I wasn't too sure on this, with the slightly wonky graphics and the hash tags, but it stands out for brilliant inventory management (imo, the best of the genre, once you've worked it out), and for being one of the very few idle games you can actually complete. I enjoyed damn near every minute.

The clicking achievement is a pain in the ♥♥♥♥ though. There's a hitbox and a timeframe, and every 5-10 kills you've got to skip a fountain or open a chest. I don't want to be sat here for days clicking for that last achievement when I've exhausted the content already.

Dear Clicker Gods, please make an idle mode for this game.

I like the art style because its unique and rather cute at times and this game makes me laugh rather often, but it seriously needs some sort of idle mode.

Epic Clicker Journey is a free casual clicker game to burn time. Its simple and easy, but this is a clicker game. I found the game to quite simple and the dificulty increase from level to level was fair. There is multiplayer in some levels but its rare to actually find someone to play with.

With the introduction of the dungeon (endless mode) you have another challenge if you want to deviate from the normal gameplay.

The art is ok. Nothing beautiful but nothing that looks made by a 1 year old.

All in all this is a casual clicker. I found it good enough to waste some hours clicking away...

I've played through some clicker / idle games before and now a few as of late, because I've been interested in finding out what the best f2p android / pc clicker or incremental games are like.

I think a f2p clicker game is great when it has no forced ads, doesn't keep you waiting for too long, has a bunch of variety, has a good UI / skill / unlock / achievement system, keeps you playing and makes you feel rewarded.

This game has all that at first, but after reaching the second multiplayer level you just take too much damage and have to start grinding slowly. You have to wait for your health to regenerate for a long time because potions that heal you cost too much. Upgrading your gear is ineffective (you increase your damage and defense 1 at a time when enemies hit 50s) and makes the progress very slow. This kind of slow progress makes me not want to play.

My largest issue with Epic Clicker Journey was, as said below, not being able to go back to the previous difficulty, which trapped you. Thankfully, this has been changed/fixed in the recent patch! Clearly, the dev/s are willing to fix the problems (which is fantastic, and I thank them for it!).

At the current stage, would I now suggest ECJ? Still, no. Although the game is getting there, there's still some problems that make the game hard to enjoy.

  • There's a lot of grind with nothing inbetween. Other clicker games have more substance, idle options and prestige systems to combat the repetitiveness of clicking and repeat. At the moment, ECJ doesn't. It just doesn't give that sense of accomplishment that other clicker games have, that make you want to continue. You're constantly expecting something different, something new (especially with the different "maps"), but it never comes. It's just more of the same until the very end.
  • There's no information at all. You're put into the game, and that's that. Most clicker games have a pretty obvious UI, so explaination isn't needed (yet most still have them). ECJ isn't one with an obvious UI.
  • What does each item do? You gather after awhile that the hashtag items do something to the hashtaged monsters/mobs, but what exactly? How long do the click-items last? There should be information on all this.
  • Some items have one-use then they're gone, some have multiple uses, yet there isn't any distinction between the two.
  • Does the DMG coin upgrade also increase DPS (as there isn't a DPS coin upgrade), or can you only upgrade base-DPS via experience points?
  • There are multiplayer levels, which is a fantastic idea, but there isn't really ever anyone else on them. So you end up just waiting for the multiplayer finding timer to run out so you can finish the level (and is it even beneficial to be in the multiplayer levels? It seems like the stats of the mobs are just x'ed by the amount of players fighting it. May as well just be solo).
  • There seems to be multiple save issues, load issues, crash issues etc.

I'll keep an eye out on the game and the future updates, as this could be enjoyable. There's just a lot of aspects that clearly haven't be thought through properly, as of yet.

REVIEW BEFORE UPDATE:

This game intentionally backs you into a corner.

The first difficulty/"map" is pretty straight forward with no problems at all. This is clearly on purpose as to get you hooked/into the game.

Once you complete the first difficulty/"map" you're instantly thrown into the next one, which is much harder, and an almost guarantee that you'll die/need to bail out, or you'll just make it through by the skin of your teeth. Now, you need coins/health. You don't make enough coins from the first set on the second "map" to buy the health potions. You can't go back to the previous difficulty/"map", so you're stuck. Here's where they're intentionally backing you into a corner. Your choices here, if you don't have any coins (which is very likely, and at some point will happen), is to either buy coins/their in-game currency, or wait for the health to go up (which takes 10+ minutes real-time).

They've made it so that the hinge of the game is the health. And the only way to make it balanced is to buy the in-game currency.

They've made a more sneaky phone-like pay-to-continue game.

No thanks.

This is a free clicker deliberately constructed to lure your innocent younger brother into vicious practice of donating money, for one just can't pass the advanced areas the natural way. The gameplay quickly gets so hardcore that it could bring any clicker pro to his knees. It's a Unity engine game with abysmal childish art style (looks even worse animated than on screenshots) and very little originality except for the above mentioned mean trick in balancing. Maybe just the hashtags idea is kinda fresh: there are special items that could be effectively applied to special monsters with corresponding Twitter-like tags. The monsters' images represent a set of disjointed and rather bland pop-cultural references. Don't make my mistake and spoil your achievements statistics by entering this pointless fuss!

So, it's FREE. That's good.

I played this for between 10min's & 1 hr most days after work. Kind of like a wind-down routine.

It's not very interesting but how many Clicker Games r .
Monster appears, Click to Damage, Monster Dies, & Repeat. Defeat 7 or so Monsters & u'll finish the Stage & unlock the next Stage (most of the time, see M.P. next).

There r 3 Maps to finish with maybe 20 Stages on each, but all 3 Maps r the same, just with the Monsters getting progressively stronger.
Each Map also has maybe 5 Multi-Player Maps, where u could b teamed-up with other Random Players. Multi-Player Maps reward u with Keys which r then used to unlock more areas on the Map.

The Monster art is fine, & so is the Music. I'm not into criticising anyone's artistic effort's.

This game is quite grindy. I'd sugest using an Auto-Clicker, it'll save on ur mouse (esp. if it's a Gaming Mouse), & also most auto-clickers r way faster than i could keep clicking & they don't need breaks to flex fingers ect.
I used GS Auto-Clicker, very basic but did the job.

It took me 12 hrs total to get 100% Achevo's (using Auto-Clicker), & most of the time i was reading comics.

Anyway, like i said it's FREE.

What this clicker game brings to the table:
  • You play as a character, instead of just a minion manager.
  • HP numeric bar instead of time limit to kill foes.
  • You level up and rise your stats by spending points.
  • You upgrade your equipment.
  • You equip items for passive and active skills.
  • Instant global multi-player queue to clear areas.
  • You get punished with gold and item loss by either dying or running from battle.
  • Blatant references to the geek culture.

The bad:
  • No idling (yet).
  • You have to pay or grind for the HP bar to recover.
  • It feels lacking of content and features.

If you are looking for an at-your-own-pace game, this is the game for you. There are barely any limitations to going through the different levels. Here are some pros/cons to the game

Pros:
-Free to play
-Simple controls
-Creative enemy designs
-Strategic gameplay
-Multiplayer
-Time killer

Cons:
-Too much grinding for gold
-Difficulty increase from first area to the second is gigantic
-Fingers may hurt
-(as far as I can tell)No way to obtain diamonds other than purchasing

Overall, I feel that this is a good game, maybe could use a little more work and some more multiplayer levels. I really have enjoyed playing this game and hope that there will be more good things to come in the future.

Nice! A clicker with multiplayer levels. But don't bother, there's almost always nobody.
It's full of great ideas and all, but the execution of them are terrible. There's no explanations for items, for stats, for hashtags (Also, why are they there? they make the game a bit... cringe-y.)

No IDLE mode, You can use monsters you beat as pets, but it is far from worth it until way later.

There's a lot of clicker games who are better than this, even on Steam.
