About This Game

Jabberwock Island – once a popular tourist destination, this now uninhabited island remains oddly pristine. You and your classmates at the elite Hope's Peak Academy have been brought to this island by your super-cute teacher for a “lovey-dovey, heart-throbbing school trip.” Everyone seems to be having fun in the sun...until Monokuma returns to restart his murderous game! Trapped on this island of mutual killing, your only hope of escape rests in solving the island’s mysteries. But be warned—sometimes the truth can be its own despair...

Key Features
  • Deadly Island Vibes: Murder is the only means of escape when you’re trapped on this island paradise. As your fellow classmates start dropping like coconuts, you’ll need to delve into each murderous incident, forage for clues, and interview your classmates to reveal the opportunity, motive, and means behind each killer case!

Tribal Council: You’ll go head-to-head in all new minigames with the other students during the Class Trial, shooting down their false truths and using your evidence to uncover what really happened. But watch out! If a student is unconvinced, they'll challenge you to a one-on-one Rebuttal Showdown and force you to defend your argument!

Survival of the Keenest: Match up your evidence with your fellow classmates’ arguments and determine who’s really telling the truth. Once you’ve got a suspect in your sights, turn up that tropical heat in a variety of timing and reflex-based game systems to reveal the ultimate truth and escape with your life!

Steam Features: Supports Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud with plans to add Steam Trading Cards

This is literally my favorite game. I recomend this game, and the first one, 1000 times over! The story and characters are so amazing, and its definetly worth the money!! It's a pretty long game, so $30 is nothing. But you should check out "Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc", the first game, before this one :))

Just finished the game today. Best story than the first one, Better game mechanics. Disappointing that they didnt show the players what they looked like before everything happened but i guess that's the player's interpretation on what they looked like at the end.

It's a great game if you enjoy mind ♥♥♥♥ histories, not for his difficulty (you will clear it without problem), more about for his twisted arguments (even if they give you easy clues). Also is great about what it means to the history around Danganronpa Series (Anime+Games).

Having one of the most thrilling and "Oh-I-Never-Thought-Of-That" story plot, combine together with very detailed and fruitful character settings and excellent voice acting, plus pretty interesting case solving mini games, and you got Danganronpa 2!

This game is the very definition of what a sequel is supposed to be. Taking everything about the previous game, building and improving on it, and at the same time not being the same as the previous game. The court is even better this time around.

Except for Improved Hangman's Gambit. ♥♥♥♥ that thing.

This is a review. No spoilers. No Killing. No Despair. But some high- class humor. C|8_{D

''What is Danganronpa?'' Glad you ask lad. Well simply put: Your new teacher believes a class trip is the best way to begin a new school year. Accordingly, she beams you to a tropical island in the middle of nowhere. Why, you ask? Because you all ought to strengthen the bonds between everyone in your class, which consists of highschool students, who all have a specific talent. ''Now, where's the fun in that?''. Good question. Unfortunately an old aquaintance appears on stage. Those who know the first game, are aware as to who that could be and it is really not a secret, yet I will leave it at that. ''But what does he do, to add to the already amazing suspense of a class trip?''. Oh, I thought you'd never ask. Now, you are not only instructed to get closer to your schoolmates, no..., while doing that, said villain urges all of you diligent pupils, to dispose of each other. ''What?! I will have to murder innocent highschoolers?!'' Goodness, no. Instead, you will have to try and solve the murder mysteries presented to you, as you are one of the few who choose not to kill, naturally. You will gather all significant evidence and unveil your findings during the class trial. ''A trial without certainty as to who the murderer is? That seems rather odd...'' You know it is not just some trial. The class trial will decide who the murderer is... by majority vote. So make sure to persuade your fellas, or you may be the one to go. ''That can't be right, that's not fair!'' Upupu. I almost forgot. Everyone else except the succesful and undetected killer will die along the one who was wrongfully selected. ,,How cruel!'' Then prevent it! Be the one to outsmart them all and win by exposing the evildoers among your friends. Should you correctly uncover the identity of the killer by argument and minigames, only he or she will die. ''But is it all about these killings?'' Obviously not! You will have deep conversations of which you will probably speed read all those unrelated to murderers or persons in the game you actually like. Since I know that decadent generation of yours, I will mention an additional part of the game: Free Time. Can you believe it, humans passing their time by simulating free time In-Game, bonkers. There you will have the opportunity to engage in short conversations with your fellow captives and read a few sentences about what happened during free time, instead of you actually having anything out of it. ''But why bother, then?'' Well, it is not completely in vain, you know. You can give them gifts, that you purchased with coins earned by finding puppets of Mr. Villian, that are spread all over the island. Oh, and getting closer to some people, which may or may not help you later in the game. ''Is there anything else I should know?'' That might be about it. Even though some people may need to get used to playing a game with a lot of Visual Novel elements, it is worth investing time in it, since you will leave as the Ultimate .... what was it again? Nevermind. Guuud Niiiiigh!!!

I've already played the game on PSP Vita before, and I decided to get it for steam because I found it THAT fun. I definitely think that DR2 is better then DRTH.

PROS:

Great soundtrack
Beautiful scenery / colours
Awesome characters and personalities
Great mystery
I like the whole virtual pet thing
Lots of achievements

CONS:

Class trials can get sort of confusing sometimes
Virtual pet can be hard to raise though
The map & controls can take some time getting used to
STOP MAKING MY WAIFUS DIE SERIOUSLY

Danganronpa is my favorite game and anime overall. You just grow so attached to the characters and the game is really unique and it's something I can play anytime without getting bored with it. I think it's 10/10 except for a few minor things I don't really enjoy

Awesome game with plenty of crafty twists. Definitely a lot more "weird" than the first game, but there's reasons for everything and you learn a lot more about the Danganronpa world.

Must play if you're interested in the Danganronpa story like I was. Otherwise 8/10 for mystery adventure game + amazing character developments.
