About This Game

Serious Sam 3: BFE is a first-person action shooter, a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom.

Serving as a prequel to the original indie and Game of the Year sensation, Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Serious Sam 3 takes place during the Earth’s final struggle against Mental’s invading legions of beasts and mercenaries.

Key Features

  • Frantic Arcade-Style Action – Hold down the trigger and lay waste to a never-ending onslaught of attackers or face being overrun by Mental’s savage beasts. No cover systems, no camping – it’s just you against them. All of them!
  • Fearsome Enemy Creatures – A new battalion of unforgettable minions including the rumbling Scrapjack and towering Khnum join the legendary Headless Kamikaze, Gnaar and Sirian Werebull to create the fiercest opposition you’ve ever had the pleasure of mowing down!
  • Spectacular Environments – Battle across the expansive battlefields of near-future Egypt bursting at the seams with total chaos. The shattered cities of tomorrow lined with the crumbling temples of an ancient world become your destructible playground!
  • Destructive Arsenal – Unleash Serious Sam’s arsenal of weapons including a scoped assault rifle, the double-barreled shotgun, the explosive automatic shotgun, the punishing minigun, and the almighty barrage of flaming cannonballs! Carry all of Sam’s weapons at once and switch between each gun on the fly for maximum firepower!
  • Brutal Melee Attacks – When the going get’s tough, the tough take matters into their own hands! Rip out the eye of a closing Gnaar, twist off the face of the hideous Scrapjack or snap the neck of an Arachnoid Hatchling for an instant kill!
  • Co-Op Multiplayer – Go to war against Mental’s horde with up to 16 players online and annihilate everything that moves across 12 single-player levels of mayhem in Standard Co-Op, Classic Co-Op, Coin-Op Co-Op, Beast Hunt and Team Beast Hunt mode.

A fun fast paced action shooter that does a good job at making you feel like a bad ♥♥♥. A great addition to the series and no you do not need to play the other 2 games to enjoy this one. It doesn't take itself to seriously and at times even points fun at itself, and this has always be part of the Serious Sam Series charm. CO-OP plays well and is enjoyable. Keeps all the main enemies from the first game as well as adding some welcome additions(♥♥♥♥ you Demon monkeys). Level design is well done and the graphics are actually pretty damn good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Serious Sam 3 definitely stumbles from time to time, but I still believe it is a fantastic addition to the series and it has made me very excited to see what comes with Serious Sam 4. It's an interesting blend of mostly old-school FPS with a few newer elements, and all things considered it looks good and runs beautifully. Soundtrack is nice and mod support is appreciated.

Well I just finished Serious Sam 3 and it was my first game of the series serious Sam. I finished the campain in co-op mode with a friend the co-op works fine, we didn't have issues with the connection and this was the best part of the game it hadn't connection issues. Now why I don't recomment the game ? Because the story was kinda bad actually it was kinda goofy, you are an american I wanna be badass who kills aliens nothing more nothing less. Many people say that it is funny, this part is personal so my opinion is that it wasn't funny for me it has cliche lines that didn't make me laugh. The characters hadn't a personality that you will say oh look a freaking awesome character that is awesome ( at least I didn't ). So if you like expectables trilogy then you will like the game or if you like american bodybuilders who trushing out and they explosing stuff.

So intense. This game is going to take the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. Starts like 'meh it is kind of easy' but then you are invaded with a lot of damn enimies that you need a gun out of your butt to kill them all. Man, it's so frustranting when you kill like 100 enemies and then one of them blow your ♥♥♥♥ up and you have to start all over again.

Anyway, this is a great damn game. If you like FPS, a lot of blood and beat hordes of enemies, then this is your game.

9/10 you are going to be bang

For each step taken forward, another step was taken back.

Serious Sam 3, where do we begin with you? I grew up playing all of the Serious Sam games, starting from the very beginning. I've played most of the spin-off games as well, along with that god awful GBA port. I'll say as much; Serious Sam 3: BFE, is probably my least favorite game out of the main series. It doesn't mean it was bad, but it certainly needs a retrospective in the development of the next game.

Serious Sam is, for all intents and purporses, a parody game of the gratituous action flicks of the 80s and 90s. Unlike Duke and his bravado of being an unflappable badass, Serious Sam opts to take a more corny approach. He comes off more like Ash from the movie Army of Darkness than John Matrix from Commando. Full of self-references and indulgence for making quips about the ridiculousness of it all, peppered with plenty of black comedy, it works wonderfully by itself.

Serious Sam 3 does get plenty of what made the original games did right. The guns feel fantastic, Sam is still a talkative hardass and most of the classic enemies have returned, with some minor changes. Running jokes, running and gunning, it's all great fun. The graphics are stellar and everything feels crisp. In games like these, the plot takes a backseat to the gameplay at hand, and for good reason. All we know is that Sam's gotta bust an alien army and save the world, that's it. Anything else acts as a transition between levels and sets up the scene. When it comes to controlling, there is only one flaw I can think of and it pertains to Sam's unusually heavy jumping, making platforming somewhat of a hassle.

Despite staying true to the original Serious Sam, specifically the First Encounter, it is ultimately the biggest flaw - it stays TOO close to the original. All of the levels are in Egypt. You get a wide variety of: open desert, desert with shrines and temples, underground desert temples, and desert favelas. None of the creative, interesting levels from the Second Encounter or Serious Sam 2 make an appearance in this game. As a result, the game gets VERY repetitive in a short amount of time, which is further compounded by the sheer size of levels in Serious Sam games. Much of the humour relies on one-liners and banters, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in itself. However, SS2 went way out of the box and went balls to the wall with silliness, so it's a shame to see 99% of it getting passed over in this rendition. NETRICSA, Sam's "in-game guide" so to speak has also been neutered as well, offering less information from before and just not worth reading, whereas in previous games, you could read the data sheets of enemies and get a glut of both funny and useful information.

Had there been more level and environment variety with a bit more risk taken, this would have been a much better game. But I can't fault it for what it is, it's still Serious Sam. Buy it when it's more than 50% on sale and you'll get, what I feel, is the right pricepoint for it.

Serious Sam is action fps series created "Croteam" and published by "Devolver Digital" introducing first encounter of series back in 2001 which gained popularity quite fast and achieved couple of awards. In the Serious Sam universe, Earth gets invaded by aliens called "Mentals" after humans discover the ancient artifacts capable of space and time traveling. You are playing as Sam "Serious" Stone trying to defend earth from the horde of enemies."Serious Sam 3 BFE" is a prequel to the "Serious Sam First Encounter" offering both single and multiplayer modes along with the capability of modding the game and survival mode.

The game itself is fast-paced classic action fps filled with action music, variety of weapons for different environmental uses, variety of monsters each having a weakness to a certain type of weapon, a lot of gore, secrets and funny characteristic jokes. However, the game also gives you an access to 3rd person view, which i found really enjoyable and i was surprised that it actually works like it is intended. The game goes first person itself if you have your back at wall, and crosshairs also lets you know if you are aiming or not and slows down your movement based on it as well. In order to advance to the next map you have to clear a horde of enemies. In order to proceed to a next chapter you have to defeat the boss which most of the time requires a tactical approach.

The graphics look astonishing, however, there's not much you can tweak around in settings there's only pre-set options. I found it way too edgy and had to lower it a bit so i could focus more on the gameplay. Sadly, i couldn't test out a multiplayer because it's dead. There were no players whatsoever, however, the game does support co-op mode so you can team up with your friends if they also own the game.

  • Fast-paced – (you don't really have to stop in order to clear out all the monsters, you can just run past them with your unlimited sprint while shooting them)

  • Gore – (game is filled with a lot of blood, screaming, exploding, and ripping off different parts of bodie for a melee kill, if you are in this kind of stuff)

  • Fun/Enjoyable – (besides the gameplay, game is filled a little jokes which will definitely make you smile)

  • Co-op – (game supports co-op mode where surprisingly team up with 16 of your friends)

  • Multiplayer – (game does support multiplayer mode, however it is dead at this point)

  • Survival – (game supports survival mode)

  • Mods – (game includes a moddable version, you can either create your own mods,or download it from internet)

  • Variety – (game is filled with variety of weapons as i have said, along with variety of monsters which has weakness to a different weapon so you won't just run around with a single weapon and gets yourself bored)

  • Gamepad support – (i have played it with a keyboard myself, but as far as im concerned game has full support for controllers)

  • Hardcore – (game doesn't let you regenerate health, and there's not a much to take cover of,the only way to get your health back is by trying to get medkits while running around in a bullets of a horde shooting at you)

  • Oldschool/Classic – (game is classic fps game we all used to play back in a days, only with a lot improved graphics)

  • Low quality cinematics – (compared to graphics of a game itself, cinematics really stand out with a low quality, which is dissapointing)

  • Multiplayer is dead – (yeah game supports multiplayer mode but at this point it's dead,it doesn't support bots so basically only way you will enjoy this feature is to drag your buddy into)

  • No minimap – (you don't have a map in your hud,and neither game gives you a directions,so you might get lost once in a while being forced to run around whole location)

  • Repetitive – (at one point game gonna get repetitive and boring since most of the time you are forced to kill every single enemy,to proceed)

All my life I was always fascinated by the battle of thermopoly when I was ten or eleven I always though now how would that have went if the spartans had a mini gun?

Well If you ever wanted to know the answer to the question look no further.

Tons of choke point battles where one man with a mini gun, and a host of other weapons is pitted against nearly endless hordes.

Well ok that's not completely true the hordes do have an end but it feels like they're unending.

This is a game where it gives you that sense of accomplishment, and teaches you that yes, that wave was hard but the next one is even worse.

Seriously buy this, there's few shooters like this on the market it's well worth the purchase.

Serious Sam 3 is not as silly and upbeat as its predecessors, but still very enjoyable. Fighting hordes of enemies feels satisfying and the graphics are quite nice. The enemy spawns can be a little dull and the ammo isn't always well distributed, but this game is generally fun.
