About This Game

It’s the hottest summer on record, and all across Europe, valuable objects are disappearing.

Museum curators unlock cabinets and find precious artefacts stolen. Wealthy mansion owners wake up to see their priceless paintings have vanished from the walls.

One thing’s clear: a master thief is touring the continent and the police are left scratching their heads.

In this 15 minute game by Crows Crows Crows, a team led by William Pugh (The Stanley Parable), slip into the soft-soled shoes of the mastermind responsible…

… silently cross the darkened lawn of the mansion…

… hold tight to the tranquiliser gun in your pocket, and commit the most audacious heis--

oh god I can’t do this any more, i’m joining the strike. i didn’t want to - i honestly didn’t want to, but it’s gone too far

i’m supposed to be writing the steam store description and that’s it, that’s my job, but because of the understaffing i’ve been told i need to work in the lighting department too and it’s only a matter of time before i’m re-assigned to wildlife preparation

and everybody knows that working for wildlife preparation is mostly about trying very hard not to be eaten by the tiger

so that’s it, i’m joining the picket. if they want somebody else to finish the description, that’s their problem

i’m out.

Its hard to down vote a free game from a tiny team...It frankly just a very linear waste of time. While free, its still not worth it. IMHO. I loved the Stanely Parable though, so to the developers, good luck in the future.

Lots of people comparing this to stanley parable and giving it negative reviews so I'm gonna give it positive one (not that it needs them)

I love stanley parable,
I'm not stupid enough to compare those two games,
I love this game

The authors definitively forgot what they wanted to say. The gameplay is not bad, but there are better things you can spend your time on.

A short but sweet comic uhh... something. Simon Amstell is perfectly cast as your harassed companion and instructor. Another fantastically witty deconstruction of the computer game.

Spoiler Alert. And yet another game that should come with a MOTION SICKNESS WARNING. Free to play and if unemcumbered by having to walk away every 5-10 minutes, should take between 20-30 minutes to play. Then another hour or so to get all the achievements assuming one does not use a help guide first time through.

Spoiler Alert: Storyline: You play as a beta-tester that arrives at the studio which is making the movie? 'Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist.' (A title which is commented on as being too long by other testers.) The stressed out studio executive gives you a backstage walkthrough tour of the studio where this epic action adventure heist is being put together. The place is a mess, the heads of departments have resigned, and the studio personnel are on strike. But that does stop the stressed out executive from giving you an interactive backstage tour explaining as you move through the backstage elements what the movie? storyline is all about.

William Pugh (designer - The Stanley Parable) takes the same approach as the Stanley Parable narration using instead a stressed out executive (still unseen but seemingly more real then his Stanley Parable disembodied voice counterpart). Still snarky, irreverent, funny, and very stressed the executive guides you along a hectic and somewhat hazardous one way trip through the makings of this epic heist. You end entering the beta testing room and there ends the game.

Now if you did not explore the surroundings the first time through the only achievement most likely earned was "Begin the Heist" which signifies one has completed the game. For achievement hunters time to go back and look for pretzels, brooms and coins; plus push buttons and just how does one get that can of soda (How much is it?)

Irreverent fun for those who like snarky dialogue and whimisical situations. Read all those papers, listen to the audio cassettes, and use "C" for crouch and this game takes on whole new levels of funny. And yes, there is a tiger, or at least the executive says that is a tiger.

The fact that the designer of The Stanley Parable directed this little game should give enough of a clue to what you should expect out of it.

It plays with your expectations from the get go, while simultaneously providing comedy. Your first time playing it, you'll likely unlock just the achievement for finishing the game. There's more content strewn around the game world if you look through all the nooks and crannies.

I really don't know what else to say about this without spoiling too much of it. Go download it, it's a fun 15 minutes (an hour for completionists).

Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist is a unique heist game where the player's goal is to steal a prized emerald from a mad scientist's mansion undetected.

Pros:
Unique stealth mechanics
Funny guard dialoge (think Thief Gold style)
Very atmospheric
Fine balance between humor and 'seriousness'

Cons:
Tiger attacks can get a bit annoying
Guard AI is finicky at times

Tips and advice:
Guards can often be picked off one by one, don't take them on all at once!
If you must fire your weapon, do so during lightning strikes to conceal your shot.

Great game, the heist was really fun. But sometimes I was prevented from playing the game.

The Heist
The Heist is fun and easy, though the sunrise on my first playthrough was delayed by 36 minutes during the car chase. The guards have a good AI, and the VAULT was somewhat difficult, but being good at puzzles was not too diffucult for me, and took a few minutes. When you first start the Heist, be sure to Grab ROCK A not ROCK B, because A has a pointed tip and is better for taking out the guard that is smoking by the pond. Then once I got the tranquilizer gun the whole game took off from there, and be sure to grab ammo from dropped guards.

The game is also somewhat changing. Once I got my foot crushed by a glass door that just randomly closed on me. Another time the whole game turned black, but it turns out it was part of the game. ANOTHER time I had to disarm lasers in a open corrider. Sometimes the elevator works immediatly, sometimes it doesn't, it depends on the seed. Finally, (don't wanna spoil all of the heist), the Emerald is worth ALL THE STRUGGLE!

The Prevention
Don't worry! It's not actually part of the game. Just do whatever some voice in the sky says, or however you want to interpret him, and then he'll let you play the heist once he's done with you.

"That's it! Your done sister."
