Royal Troupe's Logo Making

Maybe you would be interested :3

That's the magic of making game logos. Crafting, and casting spells, and creating new worlds... Anyway for us it's the first experience of such stuff. We thought that logos usually appear from a giant toad's tears or some fairies make it from stardust and colibry feathers...

But that's how it happens in reality!

Royal Troupe Mission

Hey! How's your doings?

We are pretty well too here :3 Sold 6k copies - nice results for our tiny first play, isn't it?

What are we doing? A few things:

1 - We prepare MQ Mobile release, now we're testimg our game in iOS, and soon will start testing on Android. We really want to make it real in Spring. Wish us luck!

2 - We are thinking and thinking and making a preproduction phase of our new project Avarange. We want it to be a bit more seriouse, dark and sad. We love dark fairy tales. Do you like them too?

3 - We are making a site of our studio and want to share with you a piece of our future logo. It's not ready yet, but we are eager to share. WE LOVE IT!

About This Game

Message Quest is a tiny stained-glass point-n-click adventure about laziness and her herald.
This is a fairy tale in the best tradition of works such as “The Hobbit” or “The Chronicles of Narnia”, inspired by the art of Studio Ghibli.

This is the story of a lazy herald called Feste. You may know heralds, the fellows who appear at the beginning of each journey, looking for the hero in an attempt to deliver that “call to adventure” thing, right before the interesting stuff starts to happen. That’s exactly the job our Feste must do. Find a hero, give him or her a call to adventure, and be done with it. No exploits, no saving the world. But all he wants to do is sleep and eat candy. You must become his conscience and lead him through the struggles and strange encounters of the Interworld Road.

A cute fantastic journey for one evening - the game lasts about an hour and a half, so you’ll get the full story in one session.

Features

  • Unusual stained glass graphics that make everything even more fairy taleish.
  • Charming and unpredictable characters who will tell you their life stories.
  • Puzzles with traditional mechanics allow you to fully enjoy the story without losing game immersion.
  • Funny boss fights in true JRPG style with zany attacks and bonuses.
  • A new dialogue system that allows you to control both characters in a conversation.
  • Jokes and easter eggs that will surprise you when you least expect it.
  • A magical soundtrack written especially for Message Quest that will immerse you in the bizarre fantasy universe of Interworld Road.

Funny and cute game. It is short but has a good story, told in a nice way.

More info:
- Mouse only
- Puzzles
- Easy to get all the achievements
- Not much replay value :(

Picked this up during the Steam sake. It's a fun little game, very pretty, the puzzles are not rediculusly complicated.

Very Very short though. Took me about 90mins to finish. I think you should look at this as a interactive movie, more than a puzzle game.

While the feel of the game is great, this is also a game that I beat in barely over an hour (w/ all achievements); there's not much replay value in the game from my point of view, and the biggest gripe I have is that there isn't more to this game. I bought it on sale for under $2, so it's not as though I didn't get value for my money. It's more that in an hour, you get led into a game that has a great flavor to it, a unique visual style, and a decent range of puzzles. And then it's over. I'd really like to see if they could put a solid game together with this same feel that was a few hours long or with some more replay-value to it.

Even in it's abrupt version, this is a great game and worth the value. I just wish there was more of it.

Amazing game! Graphics and story are enchanting. And the Herald is funny, lazy, weak and all in basically useless! But in the short time you'll spend traveling with him, you'll witness a transformation, and that's a sight!
Fighting mechanics are very interesting, even though there are too few fights.
The true weakness of the game is the length. It's way too short and there's so much more I'd love to see. I hope they'll make other games, bigger, longer... and soon!

There really needs to be a meh button for steam reviews because I have a mild beef with this game.

The art is great.
The characters are great.
The mechanics are like a solid 4 out of 5.
The music is great.
The story is fun.

Whats my beef? IT'S AS SHORT AS FESTE'S TINY LAZY BODY. I felt like I was at the very beginning of my quest when everything had already started to end. I really thought I was in for a superb, asthetcly pleasing adventure. I thought I was gonna get miles of great plot and more fun characters and battles and it was gonna be great. THEN IT ENDED. This would've ended up being an amazing game if they had just made more of it. But, having it be so short really takes the fun out of the plot. It moves to quickly, and there's not enough substance to become attached. So, only get this game if you're ready for a quick jaunt through the woods instead of some epic indie rpg.

Please, please, PLEASE remake this game or make some sort of sequel with like 10 more hours of content beause I will spend money.

Beautiful graphics, pleasant music, puzzles that are fun and (so far) not especially difficult.

This is an adorable game (sorry, but that's kind of the right word - it's like, the chibi of puzzle games).

All in all a relaxing and very enjoyable experience. Not too long but also not too short.

I definitely recommend for the genre.

Best short game ever. Enjoyed it so much, I even played it more than once. A bit short but that makes it even better because in this short time how was it even possible to love and enjoy the characters that much?! (Somuch, my heart had an empty feeling after I had no Message Quest to play anymore. I actually want more of it so much!)
Awesome mini games, epic soundtrack, TON of fun!

Message Quest is a game where you must help the characters save the world. Wait that's not entirely right. Message Quest is a game where you laugh at while helping the ridiculous characters in the game and solve puzzles in order to eventually fight the Big Bad namely laziness and fear!

This game has cute art and funny little characters. It combines several different types of tasks, from jigsaw puzzling & wave forming, mock RPG fights, to tetrising. Explore this world while helping characters achieve their true potential. Just beware, because not all may be as it seems.

Sound: Quite funny, but appropriate. The music is rather soothing, and the voice acting is ridiculous... but funny.

Graphics: Everything is made to look like stained glass, which is an interesting route for a game to take. Quite different and cute, the art is nicely done. Very unique in this case.

Story: Quite ridiculous. Actually made me laugh out loud a few times while playing. The characters have such weird motivations and interactions, but they tend to be amusing though they are ridiculous.

Overall: 7/10 - For an hour of fun, try to get a copy of this, it's definitely worth playing at least once. The price tag isn't too bad for what it is and you'll likely get a good laugh out of the game at least once. It was in a few Greenlight bundles and if it ever comes up in a new one, snag it. You won't regret it.

Cute little point and click, has a neat art style, likable characters, and a nifty meta sense of humor. For three bucks, it's a pretty solid buy.

Wow. Quality artwork. Great story. It's short but what a journey.

This is a point-n-click style game. A few puzzles, not very many and not very difficult. And a few "battles" as well. Awesome graphics. There are voices but it is a nonesense language just for background effect, but it does portray the emotional state of the characters well. (Reminds me of an exercise in drama school where we had to do a scene and the only words we could say were "Mary had a little lamb". IT's amazing how much you can portray by voice inflection and stuff like that)

You help the main character become a reluctant hero. He just wants to sleep instead of doing his job. You have to literally drag him with the mouse to the edge of the screen in order for him to move on. He complains all the way through the game. He has to deliver a message scroll to a hero in order to save the land from impending destruction. Along the way he meets other characters that become involved in the story. I won't spoil anything for you, but there is a neat thing they do in the game after you reach the "end" of the story they do a flashback and show what happened earlier but from another character's point of view. It gives a different twist to the story. Very nice storytelling.

One of the main puzzles is to create a path across a chasm by choosing small pieces that will fit together. Then there are the battles. You have to battle by choosing from a few options, like damage opponent or heal or defend, but they are not written that way. They have phrases that are specific to the characters. There are some battles where you have to do more strategy that just attack and defend. There's also an option to increase attack or increase health. So spend some time alternating between those and healing and then once your attack is high enough you can go for the kill. Though you don't actually "kill" anyone. It's more like you defeat them, they give in to your demand.

There's lots of humor in this story. Sometimes it even breaks the fourth wall and talks to you, the player. I love that kind of stuff. Oh, and the game is kid-friendly. I dont' think there's anything that will offend anyone. It's really a game for all ages. It's not neccesarily aimed at kids but it's not aimed at adults only.

Graphics are cute, charming, kind of like stained glass or woodcuts or mosaics artwork.

Total playtime: about an hour or so. There are a few hidden things if you want all the achievements, so you might have to replay some sections.

tl;dr version:

great story
great art
point-n-click gameplay
some puzzles (easy to medium)
voices but not in a real language (like the schoolteacher in the old Charlie Brown and Snoopy movies)
1 hour playtime

Even though it's not the most complicated or challenging adventure game, Message Quest is still highly enjoyable for all. Mostly it is light hearted and rather adorable. But the most notable about this game would be the art. Very unique and beautiful! Straightforward game play which make it suitable for older children too.

Animated picture book / jigsaw puzzle game for children.

One part of this game is the gorgeous art, the childrens' story, and the dialogues; lacking voiceovers, they require basic reading skills, maybe 2nd grade, or someone to read this game to the player if they can't read yet. The other part is clicking on things, moving things, matching things up jigsaw style, and two turn-based "fights" where you need to choose among 4 options to make your numbers go up and your opponent's numbers go down.

I liked it.

There's a demo on message-quest.com .

Wow. Extremely short (one hour!) but really charming and fun. It's a fairy tale in a sort of pop-up book style, all told in a fictional language. Very cute graphics and some achievements to get. Easy puzzles and funny fights included ^^ Big up for this one!

Message Quest is a very nice point-n-click adventure game about a boy who beats his laziness.
This game have a very nice and interesting story and also dialogues are often funny. Puzzles are interesting, and not too difficult. The game graphic style is tiny stained-glass, and its looks very original and beautiful. The music is also great, and dialogue sounds also good, however they not speak a real language, they are speaking some kind of "mumbojumbo".

So my verdict

+nice and original art style
+good music
+interesting puzzles
+funny dialogues and characters
+steam achievements and trading cards

-a bit too short (about 1-2 hour)

So this game have a very original art, good music, interesting story and sometimes funny dialogues. Yes this game is short, but for that price what you can buy it, its not a big problem, if you like point-n-click games and want get a good time for 1-2 hour you should play this game.

9/10
