About This Game

In Supreme Commander 2, players will experience brutal battles on a massive scale! Players will wage war by creating enormous customizable armies and experimental war machines that can change the balance of power at any given moment. Take the role of one of the three enigmatic commanders, each representing a unique faction with a rich story that brings a new level of emotional connection to the RTS genre, or fight the battle online. Where do your loyalties lie?
  • A deep and powerful story - element adds a personal, human aspect to a storyline previously focused on warring factions and the politics that fuel them. The single player campaign features three character-driven storylines set 25 years after the events of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
  • Command enormous armies made up of customizable land, air and naval units. Each of the three diverse factions – The United Earth Federation (UEF), the Cybran Nation and the Illuminate – have been completely redesigned from the original game, with many units.
  • Experimental units - returning with new designs and greatly enhanced looks….and some new tricks that can be unlocked through research
  • New Supreme Commander Gameplay Experience - players now have the ability to research new technologies and units and deploy them instantly on the battlefield, allowing them to upgrade a base-level tank to a high-powered, multi-barreled, AA-sporting monster by the end of a given game.
  • Strategic Mode UI - the redesigned UI that is faster, takes up less screen real-estate and gives better player feedback
  • New rendering technology that allows us to create visually spectacular environments

If your looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if your looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place.

Ingredients:
1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water
5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Seriously Though, Great game. 100/1 would play

The best RTS there is, the AI is crafty as hell and very scarey on the high levels and the game is extreme when played at the highest speed. I should know I've played it enough.

I've played all the RTS game there are. This is the best.

Strategic launch was all I heard as the world around me grew dark. I felt as if it was over, the sound of a falling bomb was heard. I looked up to see the haunting glow of the nuke they had launched, and it was falling quickly towards me. Then in a blink it seemed to turn around my ally had built a boomerang in the center of my operation. I was overjoyed as I witnessed the nuke turn back towards home, the sender unable to stop it as it now fell and crippled his entire production. The war was ours. Or so I thought. It was mere minutes before the radar pinged, it could not be. They had been banned from the war by the contract of tibulations…..but it was, my enemy had build monkey lords. I write this now so that my story may be known. I’m sure it will all be over in a matter of seconds I hear the beam growing louder.

Considering how good the 1st was and espcially Forged Alliance, I would say that you are more wise to buy them. The resource system (including the research system) is stupid, and just slows the game down. Yet another boring game which is frankly overpirced, even if it is £8.99. Now I don't really care much for graphics, but I will state the graphics in my opinion have not improved, infact gone the wrong way.

This is a perfectly decent RTS. Compared to the first Supreme Commander game, this has a lot more experimental units that are much easier to build, so if you like giant robot battles, this is your game. And most of the stategic depth of the game comes from the varying abilities of the experimentals available to each faction. That being said, the basic units have very little variation from faction to faction, and cover far fewer roles than the first game, thus leaving you with fewer strategic options than before. Also, the Aeon no longer have naval units, and the Seraphim from Forged Alliance do not return in this sequel. So, while this is a perfectly decent game, and adds some interesting new experimental units to the series, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is a better strategy game in general.

This is another case of steam needing a "meh" review option, but this time it's "meh erring on the side of lazy"

This is a very different game from the 1st supreme commander, and bears no resemblance what-so-ever to the glory that was Total Annihilation. Biggest change (for the campaign at least, it's been patched out for skirmish) is that construction must be paid for in advance. You can still queue stuff up but your engineers / factories will sit their twiddling their thumbs until the mass is in the bank. This coupled with the fact that they'll all try and grab it as soon as it hits their minimum means a single factory can basically halt production for everybody else.

Other changes are the tech-tree, which is now navigated using research points generated by research stations. I don't personally dislike this, but combined with the fact that enemy patrols are invariably small and frequent, the temptation to sit behind a few shield generators and wait out the tech tree is ever present. Additionally the number and variety of different units has been vastly reduced, mission maps are small, restrictive and heavily scripted. The rock-paper-scissors effect has been ramped upto 10, with the rather notable exception of mobile anti-air being absolutely useless, even en-mass.

There are also some glaring quality control issues, path-finding is terrible, you'll often find construction halted because a single unit is trying and failing to move out the way, the AI will repeat the same attacks, at the same time and in the same place for the duration of the game, offering no real challenge, to the extent that wrecks will stack up in nice neat rows. The only times missions are remotely difficult is if you get constantly hammered in the first 3 minutes, anything longer than that and you've had time to set up multiple overlapping shielded defences and can basically sit anything out.

So in short its small, claustrophobic, and in RTS terms practically on rails. There are probably enough of the old TA/SC staples to stop it being considered entirely generic but it is far and away the worst entry into the franchise.

Must have for anybody who likes strategy Games.
In my Personal opinion, its one of the best (After SoSE)

What you need to play ?
Well.. You either need to rush.. or to research for prototypes. Depends what the enemy is doing.

In Multiplayer, most people make speed x10 .. i personally hate it. But when they dont want to take time, then i cant to anything about it.

In this game are NO Ranks.
The Multiplayer is sometimes really... meh.
When 1 person lags, the other are lagging too.
Aswell.. not many players play multiplayer and many just go for nukes what is then .. yeah...

Well ... of to that.
Story is .. well .. okay..
Wouldnt say long, but its okay.
I mostly play against KI and the KI is well made.

I dont have many words about it, because its just a good game with nice graphics and not to much to say about it.
If you like strategy, get it.

Fun casual RTS game:
Animations are smooth,
Factions feel diverse,
Lots of unit variety,
Experimentals are really awesome,

Only critisism is that unit upgrading is simplified to research and ranks

As a stand-alone game it is amazing. But compared to the previous to Supreme Commander games this is a major step down. Remember how there were huge tech trees? such as the tier one factory can upgrade to the teir two which unlocked more units, well thats all gone. Instead now you build a research station which slowly gains research points which you use to upgrade your units not unlock new ones. Remember how you could choose a commander to start the game with? well now it is story based so you have to play the commanders in order (UEF, AEON the Cybran). Explosions are amazingly downgraded aswell. Remember the satisfaction of destroying a commander and watching a huge nuclear blast spread and destroy their base? Well now the commander explodes in a small blast and and all the oppents units die at once. Also all of the experimental units are extremely nerfed remember the AEON saucer? now it is smaller and much weaker, send 7 intercepters at it and it's gone. The Cybran spider bot has been turned into a crappy little beetle bot which are so easy to defeat they're in the first mission. All shields are the same size now (small, unless your counting huge UEF shield in the DLC) and instead of them all blocking shots the Aeon and Cybran shields let 15% of shots through! and now all shields look the same aswell. But the most annoying thing, the most annoying thing of them all is that everything you build counts as a unit. No more unlimited turrent defences, no unlimited shield protection and no more complex base defences. If you're reading this review before buying the previous games then buy this game first or dont buy it at all

Great game actually, to many people rate it negative because they cant pull the blinders off their eyes after Supreme Commander 1. For me, someone whos never played the first game(Computer wont even let it launch), its not that bad. Bit simplified im sure for some people but its streamlined and handles well, the story is a bit mehhhh, but i didnt buy it for the story!

Worse than Forged Alliance in nearly every conceivable way.

I do like SOME aspects of the new research system, but:
-Maps are smaller
-Techs have been entirely replaced by this terrible research thing
-Did I mention the maps are smaller? They're a hell of a lot smaller
-No Seraphim
-No extra faction to replace the Seraphim from FA
-Cheaper than FA, this might be a good point until you realise they only put the price down because it's worse
-Game forces you to complete tutorial despite having played FA & SC1 for about a hundred hours
-The graphics are better but the buildings themselves are now very ugly
-The maps are smaller than FA
-DLC
-UI is smaller but very boring and a bit less informative
-Does have official mutliplayer but it's smaller and less fun

But the most important thing is that compared to Forged Alliance, this game is so dull and lifeless and completely lacks any character whatsoever. If you want to play Supreme Commander, play Forged Alliance.

Many say this game is a step backwards for the Supreme Commander franchise, but that is not true at all. The game is just a lot less complicated and sure, there are less units, but since when do we rank games ONLY by the number of things you can do? There are also many other positive things. Here are a few examples:

- Gameplay is a lot smoother than the first games and the pathfinding system works faster
- The economy is a lot easier to understand and get used to
- Very balanced factions
- Better looking HUD
