Final Cut Changelog - v1.0.7 - March 17 - New Global Event

Updates to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client (in on-line mode) is restarted.

New Global Event: Lycantrope Hunt
Vrikolaks are fierce man-beasts with strong territorial instincts. The rapid industrialization of modern Borgovia led to the deforestation of the Thunderhead Mountains and the shapeshifter tribes lost their hunting grounds. They have also been forced into a constant battle for survival. The Vrikolaks are, understandably, furious. They don't care that Professor Fulmigati is gone, they are busy unleashing their mindless rage on the population of the metropolis. The Vrikolak attacks reached the level where they've left no other choice: they must be hunted down until they learn the lesson.
  • Scenarios now spawn Vrikolaks of various strength among regular monsters
  • Hunt down a thousand Vrikolaks to get to their leader
  • Fight the Scarred Beast-King for epic rewards
  • After every 1000 kill, a new Vrikolak leader will arrive
  • Conquer the leaderboard by slaughtering as many Vrikolaks as you can!
  • Event goes live at 19:00 CET.
General Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the game does not start from Steam on some accounts.
  • The Arcane Forge no longer deletes epics when used at full inventory.
  • Fixed the Polish localization of the game where dialog lines were skipping a line.
  • Fixed Saffi's Transmute skill that sometimes deducted money from players without doing anything.
Quests
  • The Gnome Beard Grease secret now counts properly.
  • Fragment of Koschei's Death now drops properly.
  • Hell Kitchen book now drops properly.
  • Fixed a bug where the game displayed incorrect skill values for Resistance Captains.
  • Fixed the quest counter for the Ink Hunt quests.
  • Saffi now rewards players with her ring properly when they complete the quest.
  • The Octopod Annihilator now properly spawns at the end of the Viaduct Junction siege.
Skills
  • Fixed the Devastator Perk.
  • Fixed the animation of the Whirlwind spell that was bugged when players used Ghastly Shape.
Items
  • Fixed the damage of the Vorpal Dagger.
  • Fixed the damage of the Twilight Dagger.
  • Players are now unable to improve Godlike items above the 10th upgrade level.
  • The Eldritch Protector Shield now has a new icon that resembles the shield model.
  • Fixed the bonus +%Defense enchant on the Honoriad Helmet.
  • Fixed the set bonuses of the Apocryphus Mechanicus Pack.
  • Fixed the set bonuses of the Runic Spirit Ring.
Multiplayer
  • Clients can now access to the Chimera properly.
  • Endgame chests will now only reward the player who opened them.
  • Added additional protection to the IP location service that will help players in connecting to their friends.
Scenarios
  • Totems in adventure mode can now be properly destroyed.
  • Fixed an issue where players did not receive their rewards after completing a scenario in co-op.
  • The "Survive 50 waves in the arena" challenge now works properly.

Not sure why it only shows less than 2 hours. I been playing the hell outta it for 3 days now. Anyhow, the game is buggy. I thought that it would have a good multiplayer mode, but it does not. Its hard for me to find a stable server. When i do go to the server search, i only see around 10 games at a time, and most are password pro. Its ok if you play it alone. Its kinda like a Diablo clone / Fate. Music is good. But it does have its buggs. Cool game. Not worth 44$..... Maybe 10$. I got my code for 3$ so no big loss. I still plan on beating it though on single player. I CAN NOT reccomened this game due to the price tag.

Cheesy voice acting, graphics on par with Titan Quest, amazing universe.

Can't say enough good things about this game. Fair priced! These devs work hard & deliver fun. It's amazing! Played van helsing 1, 2 & 3 and got final cut free. Replaying it again going through final cut this time. :) Love how easily the game emerses you. Love the banter between the ghost and van helsing. Love the outfit transmogs so you can keep a look you like. Love the consumables and crafting but wish I would of seen even more done with the invasions at the lair and the soldier system for training. That seemed a bit lose to me. Classes are loads of fun. Loved the quest tracker in it. Never wondering where to go and how easy it was to just jump in and get started on an adventure right away. You never feel tied with no inventory space. You don't have to share your loot with other people for whatever you pick up. Their loot doesn't affect your loot. Loved some of the boss banter in the game & humor used. The art work was superb. The music was great and really fit in with the game. All of the side content was tons of fun. Great co-op experience. Liked enchanting all the items. Great money sinks too! No running to NPC'S to sell items, the ghost can do it for you. This game is meant for pure fun not to bother you with anything. Great passtime. Wish there was more of these games with these proper settings and functionalities. Makes you really appreaciate how well this game was done when you go over and play grim dawn. This just flows better from the start. Easy UI, tons of options. No need to click the floor non stop to move around which in the end takes from game combat and flow. With this game none of those old school functions will torture you. Give it a try. Starts a bit slow but picks up after 2 hrs or less of game play. Keeping you on your toes and excited! :D

This needs updating to work properly on mac, and a option to delete the optional dlc of high textures should be availiable, i clicked it assuming atleast a popup would apear confirming the size but instead auto downloads via steam with no option to stop it.

Cant acctually comment on the game yet

Fairly fun, and it has really good controller support.

Too bad it is nowhere as fast as console diablo 3. By the way, console diablo 3 is the best arpg. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good.

A great game that has gone unnoticed by many, if you like ARPG's give it a try, solid voice acting, solid gameplay. This final cut version is a vast improvement on the standalone three titles.

Short:

Graphics: 7/10 - average for an ARPG

Combat: 7/10 - ^

Progression: 6/10 - Progression doesn't feel very important compared to other ARPGs

Story: 8/10 - Definitely more interesting than other games, it actually seems like you're a person and not just a random who kills things because "reasons".

Difficulty: 6/10 - The game doesn't feel very difficult, with unlimited health potions that have a 30sec cooldown you dont feel challenged to play a hardcore character.

OST: 9/10 - Brilliant scores and themes played throughout the game.

TL:DR
This game is definitely more interesting compared to other action RPGs, the characters, story and soundtrack are definitely the high ponts of the game. Sadly the combat, progression, looting, the best aspects of ARPG's aren't as good as they could be. Being locked to specific classes doesn't really help in that regard. However some abilities and upgrades do make combat better, but only for so long.

While this game is definitely up there in the top ARPG's I'd say so because its different enough to not be weighed down by its negative qualities.
Luckily the game doesn't take itself too seriously and has some throwbacks to previous titles in the series, so if you're into that you'll be entertained.

Is it worth full price? Probably not.
I'd say wait for a sale, anything below $20 or your equivilent is worth it.

Well, my first impressions are simple: Buy it on sale. The game is not bad, but right away you notice the indie feeling the game has, specially if you played Diablo and PoE for a long time. Don't expect something similar to those 2 games, I would say that is not bad because it gives the game its own identity, but again don't expect the same quality level too. Compared to Diablo and PoE I found the game more clunky, so the experience is not as smooth and satisfactory (specially when compared to Diablo), but you get used to it after some time.

I love the art style and the steampunk feel of this game, wrapped in a witty fantastic gothic noir adventure. There's a ton of content to explore, and I picked up the Final Cut on sale. It was worth every penny and more than I spent on it. We're only a little way through this in my gaming group but we're working on it, and we get a kick out of it everytime we play. The gameplay mechanics are solid, the game is stable, and the story is fun, and the dialog between Van Helsing and Lady Katarina is hilarious at times.

If you like action rpgs, I can't recommend this gem enough.

Van Helsing is another action role playing game I was talked into playing with my brother. I personally have mixed feelings about this game. You are thrown into a world controlling Van Helsing and the witty ghost of Katarina. With Van Helsing you can choose from six different classes for him to partake and master, as with Katarina she has three select skill trees to learn from. You can raise her as a melee tank, range caster, or supporter. The way you raise Helsing is based on what you desire from the class you pick. Normally I enjoy this feature, but there seems to be quite an unbalance between some skills damage.

Pros:
- The main story is engaging.
- Each build seems to offer either pure physical, pure magical, or a hybrid setup.
- Having Katarina is beneficial for multitude reasons.
- The game is beautifully crafted.
- Plenty of gear to find, buy and trade.
- Offers online play.
- Adventure mode to keep you busy during end-game.

Cons:
- The game's difficulty seems to scale too high too soon.
- Some classes feel extremely under powered. (At least to me it feels challenging on some)
- I really dislike the way Van Helsing swings a sword.
- Some skills need to be tweaked or changed.

I liked the game at first, but the further I progressed the more I lost interest. The game's difficulty scaling is my biggest upset because dying constantly is only meant for Dark Souls. However, I am not done playing around with this title because it still offers the time waster requirements I desire and I'm sure the developer will continue to bring changes as time goes on. If not, it is still fun for a single run through to learn about the game's history.

If you ever asked yourself
"I wonder if there's a game like Diablo 3, but didn't suck, stuck more to the Diablo 2 formula, didn't have as much grinding as Torchlight 2, and isn't bogged with Always-Online DRM like Path of Exile"

This game is for you.

It's a great ARPG that follows the good old formula while still doing enough different to be quite interesting.
There are 5 unique and fun to play classes...And then there's constructor who fills the role of "I just summoned 30 minions, time to AFK and win the boss fight"

After playing this game for just a few hours already i can tell how amazing it is specially for a dev i never heard of so lets start by saying the story is good the voice acting is great 6 various class's to play with many ways to play and spec each with TONS of customization and gear to be found. With the High quality graphics pack installed it on Direct X 11 with all the settings in advanced settings MAX it looks damn good by far the best looking ARPG i seen to date. The maps are massive with tons to explore alot of side quest and hidden stuff, i'm hoping to try its online multiplayer with friends soon im sure it will be a blast and seams to have alot more to offer then Diablo 3 and path of exile i am sure i will love every minute of this Great game and hope they are working on another kick ♥♥♥ ARPG since they did such a great job with this one.
