About This Game

For centuries Europe has been dominated by the church and nobility. On the shoulders of ordinary people the servants of god and the noble families justified their power and wealth. This was the incontrovertible, divine world order. A truly dark era…

In the 14th Century the world order is beginning to transform itself. Due to trade and commerce an increasing middle class obtains more and more power and wealth. Entire towns purchase their freedom and more privileges from the nobility. Reading and writing is no longer the domain of the nobility and the clergy and the invention of printing information may eventually be spread everywhere. This is the beginning of the renaissance...

Im writing this for potential buyers of this game so they are informed.

1. I love this game as you can see from the hours I put in.
2. The game can be buggy depending on what version you use...

However, you can get a nearly bug free and very enjoyable game experience if you install properly, which steam does not have any instructions on how to do.

If you do buy this game(which I actually do recommend), pls follow these intall instructions.

1. Install the base game(steam version 4.17)
2. Once you got #1, then open properties and go to betas. Select 4.21 and install that. Do not select 4.211.
3. What steam doesnt tell you is that 4.211 doesnt work unless you have 4.21 installed, however, steam also doenst let you install 4.211 if you get 4.21 first.

But not to worry, you can manually get the 4.211 patch from the guild 3 website - http://www.theguild3.info/filebase/file/27-the-guild-2-renaissance-patch/

If you install properly and up date you will love this virtually bug free version of the game.
If you do not install properly you will not be enjoying all the bugs that make you want to rip out your hair that you will experience.

Pls mark this as helpful. Thank you

My main character started as a humble, struggling tea merchant.
Within 30 years he was the head of the most feared and ruthless international crime family in Northern Europe.
He and his sons and daughters now control 2/3 of the political system and have murdered/bribed/defamed so many people that they don't even have 'opponents' anymore, they also now have a permanent staff of hired thugs that wait at the church doors every Sunday to greet anyone who has spoken a word against them. They have lost track of how many trials against them have fallen apart because the accuser has 'disappeared.'

This game went from 'Sims: open for business' to 'Gangs of New York' real quick.

10/10 would murder all of my political/economic/personal opponents again.

Don't look t my game hrs, I havent played this on Steam...

This game shows no matter how unpolished, buggy a game is, If it has great concept & gameplay then Players will love it , no matter how. Highly addictive!

>become carpenter, miner, smith, doctor, farmer....up to 24 professions
>Hire &fire employees
>produce & sell things you make to market or from your own building
>get married , have kids, keep alive your dynesty
>Get in to politics, become jailer, ...., mayor,......even king!
>hire mercenaries......fight,kidnap, kill rival dynesties!

These are only some features of the game......List is long!

Show me any game which has half of these features listed above.......Nooo?
Then dont think & start playing The Guild 2! (The guild 3 is coming in 2016, so better warm up with the series if you haven't!)

This game is just great.

Its basically medieval economy life simulator, which is pretty unique genre.

If this kind of game seems interesting for you, no doubts, just buy it. Oh and Guild 3 is coming soon!
