I like it, although I've only played the tutorial so far.

I noticed that my fps dropped significantly once I started building units, though the current graphics card I have isn't all that great in 2016 lol.

Turning down graphics helped nothing sadly, as I still got the same drops in fps.

With that said, even though the game was running at 30 - 15 fps at it's lowest, there was barely any difference in smoothness, which is great. Makes the game very playable even on low end hardware.

All in all, great light RTS game. Worth a buy.

Hey I really liked it so far. Mainly so, because I did not have very high expectations from the beginning and I was rewarded with a nice playable little RTS that reminds you of the days of Starcraft 1, C&c 1 etc. I could not find a save button but i quess its because of the demo version. I will buy it once I have moneyz to spare.

If one expects high end, latest tech/software and fashion RTS then look to more expensive titles. This is nice, light and utterly playable. I see myself finishing all the story mode once I have the full version. ^^

So here's the deal, I like the nostalgia but since it's in it's alphaish stage, it really isn't fair of me to judge it in it's infancy. I like the general design of the units but it looks like they just used a few nodes to make up the unit coloring. A some incandescence, some matte colors, and that's all there seems to be. No specularity, no ambient occlusion (you can bake it in if you're strapped for memory), no use of transparency. Another thing is the unit AI's, when placing buildings, good placement can mean the difference between an onslaught held off and crippling blow, both for the player and the AI opponent. In all the training matches I played, and the story, I never really saw an AI utilize defense structures, let alone, place them in a perimeter. My own units would stubbornly stay in one spot when I kept directing them to move over so other units could get by. In attacking movements, units wouldn't chase long range enemy units, they would simply stand there as each one was picked off. Because of stuff like that, you have to do a lot of hand holding for your armies. Move here, no, not there, HERE! Attack that building, no, I didn't tell you to move to the building, I told you to attack it. On top of that, the game, when first loading up, often freezes while loading and sometimes crashes. As others have noted, Nightside borrows heavily from other games, and there isn't that much that it does on it's own that's original. This game does have the opportunity to become more than what it is now, but at this stage, with the current graphics and gameplay, it will probably be overlooked for more polished games.

Off to a good start, but needs work.

UI needs work. Basic RTS commands need to be added.

Nice variety in races. Think I'll be playing this demo for a while.

The lack luster UI, the poor grouping controls and order options, the poor AI, and the inability to micro beyond targetting an enemy unit, while nostalgic, isn't quite enough for me to recommend the game. But you can smell the potential.

An interesting title. It feels like it has a lot of potential, but didn't quite know how to realise it. If you want more relatively by-the-book RTS action, this might be for you. The price certainly isn't too bad.

No storyline. You are just taken and then thrown into the game.
Units feel a little unresponsive.
Theres no voice what-so ever over the units nor the campaign.
I only played through the first and a bit of the second mission. It bored me to death. Literally. I would send units and then alt tab.
Really really boring. Needs lot of polishing.

The game draws you in when it starts off. The soundtrack, dark and mysterious. Nightside's demo presents it's base game quite well, with a beautiful soundtrack and a dark, almost foreboding aspect to it's art direction. It's concepts seem simple, and the units well designed. While Nightside's units feel a bit slow they control well, feel fluid, consistent, and responsive. Which is important in a base building RTS, and compared to some more recent RTS games, it's controls are much, much better.

The first three missions involve a lone human being who crashes on a distant planet. After that, he is abducted by aliens (and probed, probably) and recruited to fight with them against the YX. And in the last mission of the demo, you end up controlling a hybrid after some nightside funtimes with the Nova. The units you play with are absolutely adorable, and the campaign on 'hard' gives a reasonable challenge. It requires you to be smart, and quick against the armies of YX thrown at you. The base building and macro mechanics are great, and the unit control is smooth. It makes the gameplay the least frustrating and most satisfying when you end up beating certain levels.

Nightside presents some very cool looking units with a unique style and design. And it seems some units have abilities, which I approve. A great demo, a must-try for any and all RTS gamers.

Nightside has tons of potential. It reminds me of Starcraft, Conquest: Frontier Wars, Grey Goo, and a bit of Tiberian Sun mixed in. There are 4 races to choose from. Stuff builds pretty quick so I could see playing very aggressive in this game. Good music, plays smooth, and looks good.

Seems like this game is off to a decent start but is fairly unpolished. Missing common RTS staples like double clicking a command group to jump to its location. Found a few graphical bugs while playing such as when the YX is summoning a unit, it is visible through the fog of war.
Could be a great game with a few updates. I'll be checking back on it in a while to see if it has improved.
