Eorzea. A Land embraced by Gods and forged by Heroes. Seeking control of this realm and its abundant crystal resources, the Garlean Empire sends forth a massive host on a campaign to conquer its southern neighbor. Driven by madness, the commander of the invading forces silently plots to tear the moon from the heavens and hurl it down upon the land. The people of the realm soon learn of this foul scheme, and join their hands in prayer in an eleventh-hour attempt to entreat the aid of the gods, only to see their endeavors fail. From within the moon emerges Bahamut, an ancient terror seething with rage fueled by countless generations of imprisonment. Sensing the tug of Fate, a powerful magus channels the last of his strength to send Eorzea’s heroes into a temporal rift. There they wait, untouched by the flames of destruction, until they are needed again. Those heroes are you, and the hour of awakening is now. Come and witness a realm reborn.

The best mmo online I've played, I really love this game, many cool classes and races to play, player who don't have many time to play endgame stuff can focus on jobs like alchemist, blacksmith, culinarian, goldsmith, fisher and much more. The graphics is very nice and cured, character customization is wide and you can buy/craft lot of outfits or unlock new ones with the game events, the story is engaging and there are lots of dungeons and bosses to defeat and then there are also many other activities to do and the one I liked the most is the ability to buy a house and furnish it as you wish. The community is very cheerful and friendly, so much that I spent more time to talking than play, there are a lot of things I would like to add but I don't want to make it too long.. so yeah I would definitely recommend to try at least the free trial, I'm sure you'll love it if you like this gamestyle

I've often found myself struggling to actually get immersed into any MMORPG throughout the years however, this game does well to keep myself entertained and invested in an experience that is genuinely gripping and enjoyable to play through hours on end.

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is truly one of the best MMORPG games out there. There is a TON of content to be played with that will set you up for thousands of hours.
FINAL FANTASY fans will have a great time exploring the references from past games also.
The community also makes the game a lot more enjoyable as you will almost always meet nice people that will be happy to talk and play with anyone all the time.

This game is by far, one of the best games I've played ever and I really do recommend giving it a go with the free trial to see if it is for you or not.

This game is honestly some of the most fun in an MMO since world of warcraft. Sure it's a monthly fee. But I've invested over 50 hours in less than a week with this game. If you're a final fantasy fan you'll feel right at home!

I haven't reviewed this game yet? Must have been too busy having fun :)

431 hours already... Yeah, definitelly having fun. The game is great. Polished like a diamond, and with enough content to build a great wall of China. It's stable, bug free, servers are solid, everything you would expect from a AAA title.

THe game is great, and it puts back the RPG into MMORPGs again. Do not go into the game if you want to skip all text and story, and just do quests and advance. Go to WoW if you want to do that. The story in this game is a big integral part of it, and it IS done really well anyways. So try it out, it has a 15 day free trial, but if you get in it. do take your time, and play it like an RPG. Enjoy the story, the world, and the game will certainly give back :)

I really enjoy this game. The class system and gear level system is portrayed well. Can be a little grinding here and there especially nearing end game. The online community is great, haven't met anyone yet I've had a problem with. Overall decent game.

The MMO We Didn't Know We Needed
I just want to preface this review by saying that I'm pretty experienced with games in this genre, I've got over 2k hours in WoW, and I'm ballparking around 100 in both GW2 and ESO. I also have a little experience with AO and Runescape
Final Fantasy 14 Does a lot of things right, and breaks away substantially from the WoW-esc MMOs that have flooded the market in recent years.
In this review, I want to target just the things I love about this game so far. I've been taking my time, and have yet to participate in end-game content, so I'll be leaving that out of this review.
I personally am a fan of tab-target combat. I don't know if it's just that I've been playing tab-target games for most of my gaming career, or that I'm some sort of hipster, but I find tab-targetting engaging, convenient, and competitive, and ffxiv offers easily the best tab-target combat I have ever played.
  • Casting classes have anticipations between casts that give you time to move, or send off that next spell,
  • AOE abilities are clearly displayed in bright orange
  • Healers do not have to rely on addons to see party member's statuses
  • Meta-Events are rewarding and vary in difficulty
  • Visuals are bright and unique, combat is not an eyesore
It has easily one of the best crafting systems I've played in an MMO, and gives professions like Fishing and Culinary their own separate gear, abilities, and storylines. I don't disagree that the crafting system has squandered potential, but it still far outdoes the Crafting in WoW, GW2, and ESO.
Classes tie-in well with crafting, and is one of my favorite things this game does well.
  • One character can experience everything the game has to offer, there is no need to reroll,
  • classes intertwine into jobs and have crossover abilities,
  • Leveling up crafting works similarly to any other class in the game
Lastly, I'm going to quickly cover story. I love story in video games, and for the most part, I think ffxiv does a good job with story. There are plenty of cutscenes, a handful of interesting characters, and I'm sure many, many theorycrafters in the vibrant community. Unfortunately, ffxiv also falls short on some aspects of story. I can't count how many characters felt one-dimensional, and only included so that your character will go do xyz. Quirky characters often have little to them except the same sense of humour, which blends into this homogenous mess. Sometimes I'm unsure if a cutscene is important or bland NPC chatter so I'll skip it without realizing something important was shoehorned in. I won't say that the ffxiv story is bad, indeed it's one of the best delivered stories I can think of in an MMO to date, but a lot of it feels artificial, and only included to pad-out the gameplay time.

These are the most prominent things I can think of right now, though ffxiv certainly has a lot of depth I didn't cover. There are sales on this game pretty frequently, so if you're gonna buy it I'd say check those out first, but if there aren't any sales going on don't let that stop you from buying it, as I think it's well-worth the price.

So I've only spent a small amount of time on the game so far but after a whole week of constant fate grinding I finally completed the yokai watch event. I haven't seen the light of day in what seems to have been the longest month in my life. I don't see my family anymore and I'm sure my friends think I'm dead. Please send help

I haven't played very long but this is a really well done game and i'm so happy and thankful I both got into it and decided to actually give another MMO a try

You may play a little longer than I did so you might even have more fun than me but for the short time ive played I'd say this game is worth the monthly fee

I haven't played it for 6 hours. It's just taken that long for the patch to download, crash, download, crash, and download. I'll proper review it if I get to play it.
