This game doesn't even work for me and the devs are long gone. Avoid at all costs.

The game looks like a terrible Guitar Hero clone, and it IS a terrible clone. Using your own music barely/kind of works, and the syncing is off so the button presses and timing doesn't feel good. It gets boring really fast and is not satisfying to play at all. Avoid!

If you've ever played the many console music games out there, such as Guitar Hero or, Ultimate Band, to name just two, and wondered what it would be like to be able to play ANY track you wished - well, here's your chance. Rhythm Zone has an amazing ability to automatically create Guitar-Hero-esque sequences for you to play out to ANY music track you own.

The interface is smooth and easy to read at a clance, so you can tell your multiplier without taking your eyes off the music, and the difficulty settings make it a great game for anyone, with easy being a gentle start, and only the most commited of people survivng an expert track. All using your own music, you can compete against friends in a live challenge, Even if you can't decide what to play, there's a random selection with the quick play option. With a no-hassle music catalouge and psychadelic (and distracting) backgrounds, this game can be played by casual toe tappers, up to the most competetive button mashers.

It's the poor man's Guitar Hero, except that you can play your own music. Grab it when it's on sale.

If you're going to make a Guitar Hero game which is driven by custom user music, you really need to get your algorithm down which converts the music into buttons to press in the game. Unfortunately for this game, what ends up happening is that you feel like you're just pressing random buttons at random times and it has nothing to do with the music. And what makes it even worse is that there is some bad input synchronization between when you press a button and when the game recognizes you've pressed a button. So it ends up being a mess all around. It's a neat and ambitous game, but the implementation was pretty poor.

So on paper it seems good a low budget rhythm game that you can play your own music with? Sold! The keys are very easy to use if you literally hold your keyboard like a guitar. A S D F are red, green, blue, yellow. Controls seem fine and easy to use. The details of the game are lacking. Again clearly this is a budget title, but there's not much pop in anything. The menus are pretty flat even. There's no sizzle to this. And I guess another down side is playing your own music takes a while for it to assign tabs to the music and it really just plays your song, guitars and all. The only catch is that when you mess up you'll hear a static sound.

While you might be able to get into this game. I say skip it and dust off the old Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. Sorry. The value of $50 games is better than this $10 game in this case. I'm not even sure if I can recommend it for $5.

While the game was fun, the Devs have gone out of business and no longer provide support for the game. I can't even currently add any music to the game to play. go with Beat Hazard (Ultra) and Audiosurf for the time being.

This game brings the elements of the Guitar Hero games where you try to sync up and push or click your way to the end of songs. In this game you can use your own music and play it on up to 4 difficulties. Expert mode will make you pull your hair out as you'll find it extremely challening with any song you choose. I highly enjoy this game and it offers plenty of things to do with your music choices. The DLC in this game also includes new visualizers so the game backgrounds never gets stale!

A shameless attempt at cashing in on the long-dead Guitar Hero/Rock Band craze. The gameplay and angled perspective is an identical clone to Guitar Hero/Rock Band, the artstyle for most of the interface is a shoddy rip-off of Rock Band, the syncing is extremely off with no way to adjust the note timing (you generally have to hit keys VERY early), the rhythms are generally nonsense with respect to what's going on in the music, and the song recognition/leaderboard systems don't seem to work.

If you want a free open-source game of the press-buttons-to-music variety, check out Stepmania or Frets on Fire instead. If you want a game that will automatically generate gameplay on the fly to your music, play Audiosurf instead. Considering the better alternatives available (and that half of said alternatives are free!), Rhythm Zone is absolutely not worth the time or money in any conceivable way.

for some reason this game gets bad reviews, and i don't know why. It's a great game for those who want a guitar hero for your OWN playlists not just what the developers put in the game, granted i do have some trouble because the game does seem to have a problem with playing at my PC's native 1920x1080 resolution and will crash while the game is loading but i have gotten it to work on smaller resolutions. Overall the games literally "INFINITE" library outweigh is resolution problems. i would Recommend you try this game for yourself.

So, just tossing this out here. But dead game is dead. The Leaderboards can not be entered because the servers to identify music are now down and gone. As such all you can do is play single player with a faulty input genearator. Don't expect the notes to ever sync up with your songs, and now never expect yourself to even get 80% of the achivements.

It's like "Guitar Hero" or the free knockoff "Frets on Fire", except it can generate a decent game out of any song MP3 you may have.

If you -need- a dedicated controller, -love- a fifth fret just out of reach, or -require- a 'strum' control, stick to GH or FoF. Me, I prefer to go without those complications.

Truly awful game, terribly made. Very little in the way of redeeming features, from the clunky controls and interface to the regular glitches. It feels very rushed, and the superficial resemblence to Guitar Hero does not translate into anything more.
