About the soundtrack DLC for Definitive Edition

There are 2 soundtrack DLCs for Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition.

Ori and the Blind Forest (Official Soundtrack) is the same as the one that you could get as DLC for the original release of Ori, and includes all iconic tracks like “Completing the Circle”. If you own it already you do not need to buy it again as there is no new or different content here.

Ori and the Blind Forest (Additional Soundtrack) contains 1) new tracks from the new areas in Definitive Edition, 2) music that was not released on the Official Soundtrack, 3) music from the 3 trailers that Moon Studios created for the game, 4) a selection of music that was unused or cut from the original game, and 5) a selection of music from the original Ori prototype. This soundtrack has only been available on Bandcamp and Youtube to this point.

The Official Soundtrack will continue to be priced at $9.99. The Additional Soundtrack will continue to be available here and elsewhere for free.

Between the Official and Additional soundtracks, completionists will have just about every cue that is heard in the game.

The game is absolutely gorgeous. Rich gameplay mechanics, challening yet fun. Highly recommend. There is a certain Princess Mononoki, spirited away inspiration to this.

This game is amazing. My friend recommended me this game and he did not disappoint.

From the gameplay to the music to the visuals, Ori and the Blind Forest is stunning, starting from the opening cutscene to the end credits. While the story lasts maybe 10 hours if going for 100% blind, there exists some replay value for harder difficulties or the near-impossible one life mode. I can't say enough good things about this game, and my only complaints are due to my inability to play this game well. If you enjoy video games as a certain style of art, I highly recommend this game.

A truly original gaming experiance with beautiful visuals and concepts. Its like playing inside a painting or piece of game concept art. It rerminds me of Abes Exodus as it takes the same risks with visuals and gameplay that have clearly gone on to define this creative and brilliant experiance,

First things first. The artistry in this game is beyond any description. The only other games that come close to it are Trine(s) and Dust: An Elysian Tail. Leaving elegant graphics and meticulous details aside, the animation is multi-layered and fluid, reminiscent of Ghibli or Disney cartoons. Words cannot illustrate how much stuff is going on during gameplay!
The soundtrack is outstanding and really fits with what is taking place on screen. It can be everywhere from soothing and calm, to gut wrenching or epic.

Ori and the Blind Forest is considered a metroidvania game but that is half correct. The layout of the map and skill progression fall indeed into the aforementioned category, but under the hood there is a hardcore action-platform game. It requires player skill and it can be demanding at times, but never gives the impression of "too hard" or "unfair". The controls are very responsive and precise and within a few hours become a second nature to you.

I played the (retail) definitive edition and it took me about 12 and a half hours to complete (100%). I wish it was a little longer but beyond that, it was money well spent, for a journey unlike any other.

An incredibly beautiful production throughout, this platform adventure tests your relfexes and curiousity in a time of turmoil and despair. Paired with a wonderful soundtrack, Ori and the Blind Forest is an absolute treasure.

The Definititve Edition is packed with the same great story and gameplay as the original. The most noticeable differences are the extra abilities and additions to the storyline. There is also extra behind the scenes content and fast travel system.

What a beautiful game.

As I usually do, I tend to read reviews of the games I want, then I wait some time so they update the games properly and lower the price a bit (6 months - 1 year), and I only readed good things about this gem, how it was extremely fun, how it was also challenging, and how it was simply stunning, but I decided to still wait a bit more to pull the trigger, and I finally did it!

Let's start with how well the game runs; my rig is a GTX 770 / i5 4670k / 8GB RAM, so it's pretty beefy, that said, I still had drops of FPS all the time since the start, I did my research and a few people like me got unlucky and it runs like this, I saw a few fixes, forcing d3d11 or d3d9, I didn't bother trying anything because I'm exhausted and tired lately, so I decided to just run the game like this, after an hour I didn't notice the framedrops and I played frankly well! My PC never got above 46ºC playing the game.

The art and graphics are next; stunning visuals, it feels like everything has been hand-made perfectly, everything is charged with love and you can feel it. You can see how the water trembles when something happens, or when something drops in it. The leaves drops gently on the screen, in a realistic and beautiful way. Every single character in the game, either enemies, the protagonist, or NPCs are beautifully crafted, and every movement feels real and well made. The colors are vibrant when they need to be, and off when they have to, every level has a different art style in it, and it shows. You really notice where you are by simply looking at the screen, and that's something that not many games are able to do. Basically, the art is beautiful, well crafted, and stunning, one of the very few games that manage to do it perfect.

The soundtrack, oh boy, the soundtrack is marvelous, if you can, give it a shot and search for it in youtube or in any other place, you'll see how incredibly well put it is, epic and emotive, full of emotions, every place is fit with a perfect soundtrack for it.

The sounds are so good, I was amazed at how realistic it sounds. I mean, I never heard a "rabbit" falling from the sky and trying to break the ground in real life, but it's just like I imagined it, with bass, powerful, noisy; simply perfect, as I said in earlier lines, you can see how they made it with love, everything fits.

The gameplay is... Wow. I started playing the game, and the first 30 minutes I didn't know how to feel about it, I mean, it's not what I imagined (I also tend to not look at gameplays nor information about games except the reviews so I don't get spoiled at all), it's a mix of platforms, action, speedrunning, and being quick as ♥♥♥♥. After 7 hours, I am so much in love with it, you're in total control of your character, and your character will go exactly where you want it to go; it's fun, fast, frenetic, full of action and possibilities, being able to attack the enemy in whatever way you want feels so much fun, it doesn't really get repetitive and at certain moments I wished there were more enemies. The platform feels great, frenetic, fast, and well made, it's very addictive, because it's also a bit challenging, very fun and one of the few games that made me feel great from start to finish!

The story isn't very very good. I mean, it's alright, I didn't really need a big story for the game, but it certainly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off a bit at certain moments, I felt it needed more writing and more reasoning to it, would've loved to learn more about the lore, but being the game it is, it's the least important point of the game.

The longetivity of the game; 7 hours for me, almost every place is at 100%, granted that I am a quick player and I learn really fast, but I felt it was a bit short, I played at medium difficulty, because hard was extremely hard at the start (1 hit 1 kill), but it's a replayable game and as I said before, addictive, so I really don't have problems with the longetivity.

The game is great, fun, full of love and incredibly well made, a gem. I'd gladly put it in my top 20 games I played in my life, it's THAT good.

If you were thinking about pulling the trigger for the game but weren't sure because it might not be the game for you, let me tell you that I hated Super Meat Boy, a platform game, and I loved Dust: An Elysian Tail, so if you have the same likings, maybe this will be the game for you. Pull the trigger, you'll love it!

Moon Studios say they want to make games that they themselves would love to play. And Ori and the Blind Forest is their first such project, and a masterpiece. Not only is Gareth Coker a genius composer, but the live orchestra that performed the soundtrack has to be one of the most renowned in the world. Add to this the stunning graphics with several beautiful effects, a wonderfully-told story, and some of the least frustrating but most challenging platforming gameplay, and you have this.

Also Bash.
Bash is the best ability in any video game ever.

Oddly enough, this game got me into the Metroidvania genre. It is seemingly punishing at times, and could really do with an option to continue playing after completing a story, but all in all you'll be hard pressed to find a game that achieves so much of what it set out to do.

I've finished this game twice so far and let me tell you this; if you're a fan of good and fluid platforming like Super Meat Boy (or the old days of 2D Super Mario on the SNES or NES), this game deserves a spot in your library without a doubt. It has one of the best platforming in years I'd wager. Along with level designs that make great use of Ori's abilities (and how well animated Ori is), moving around and exploring have never felt more satisfying.

However, and this is entirely my opinion, if you're feeling for a more Metroidvania game with a fleshed out combat system or deeper RPG mechanics, this game does neither of those. Granted, the combat mechanic fulfills its purpose, but it can be pretty mindless as your means of offense is to only repeatedly press a button to kill your enemies with little to no strategy as your projectiles automatically homes onto an enemy, and sometimes pulling off a charged attack when need be. Don't let me fool you though, this game does offer a variety of ways to finish off your enemies by using the environment to your advantage. Additionally, you'll unlock more abilities to maneuver around the gorgeous world, allowing exploration to be fun, rewarding and less repetitive. The light RPG mechanic, albeit simplistic, works wondefully well as the abilities and upgrades you unlock have a great synergy with one another and are well balanced, making it so that there's no ability or upgrade that is outright useless or overpowered. This game's story is the weakest link, but if anything, it gives you just the right amount of motivation to continue playing while you're engrossed by the beautiful soundtrack, only to realize that you've already reached the end.

All in all, it's a good game and I enjoyed it thoroughly so play it now, you dork.

I'm blown away.
Played a few games in my life, but this one is extremely good.
Gameplay, controls, animations, soundtracks, sound effects, challenge, save system, story: 10/10.
Got the physical one with an A3 poster and i have to say, i feel that my money is not wasted.
If you want to buy this game or you are not sure yet, i suggest you to buy it.

Thank you Moon Studios.
