News on Major update #1 : A complete ReMake with new Engine!

Hello! First and foremost, many thanks to people who bought our game and backed our crowd funding campaign. It has been almost a year since we released Wanda - A Beautiful Apocalypse on Steam. There had been a lot of responses about our game during that time and they gave us critical insights about how we can improve the game.

Despite some lukewarm responses from some players, we felt like we failed to bring the game to its full potential. There are several flaws that we overlooked when we first released the game due to our tunnel vision. Our primal goal was to make a game with subtle narrative that tells a story without saying a single word. This obsession blinded us from seeing a greater picture and created a jarring experience with gameplay and immersion for some. Also, the limitation we had with the game engine brought many technical issues, ruining the experience for some players.

Update : Roadmap

This is where we decided to remake the entire game with a new engine. This is not going to be direct port. We are going to enhance the every aspect of the game, add extra contents, iron out the flaws to create smoother gameplay and greater immersion and over all, better experience for the players.

The subtlety of storytelling and storyline itself and Steam achievements will be left untouched. The game will also be released for multiple major platforms; PC, Mac, Linux and Mobile. Those who already own the game on Steam will have a new enhanced version as an update with no extra cost.

Drawbacks
The old saves will no longer works on new remake.

This is all we like to share for now. Since we are small-time indie developers, it might take a while for this remake to be completed but you have our words that we will make the game worthy of your time.

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them with us on Discussion Forum here.

You can also follow us on Facebook , Twitter and our own Website for updates.

Thanks you for giving us your time. See you all in next update!

“Clever puzzle game rich in storytelling. Interesting game world with beautifully done music. Downside is that it’s a very short game. A must buy though for the emotionally driven experience.”
9.5/10 – Video Game Break

“While the linear experience harms replayability, Wanda is overall one of the most beautiful, poetic, compelling, and masterful examples of the narrative potential of video games.”
8/10 – TechRaptor

“Wanda: A Beautiful Apocalypse is a charming game that players who love story-rich RPGs will enjoy to no end. With pretty graphics, a great soundtrack and fun puzzles, the only complaint is that there needs to be more gameplay and story to lengthen this fairly short game. Regardless of that, we would definitely recommend playing this title- just make sure you have some tissues ready!”
9.4/10 – 3rd-Strike

About This Game

Wanda is a short and simple story about two lonely robots in a desolate, ruined world. Unlike many other ‘end-of-the-world’ games, Wanda is not about a tale of desperate survival but about finding companionship, love and hope in a wasteland.

Wanda is a story-focused game but completely free of comprehensible dialogue. The entire story is told through the subtle interactions between the two robots and the environment itself in a “show, don't tell" style.

Join this little adventure, solve mini-puzzles and witness the story unfold. Experience a whole new perspective of a post apocalyptic world through art-style reminiscent of a children’s book and delightful soundtracks.
