I got a 90% off coupon to get this game when I completed a badge, and I thought “What the heck, solitaire is fun sometimes.” Now, I have almost twenty hours on record, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. If you see this game on sale and you like card style games even a little bit, it’s worth it to pick it up.
The gameplay is simple enough. You are dealt a board and you have to make chains from your foundation card. In order words, say your card is an eight. You can place a nine or seven from the board onto your foundation, and you can go up or down. As you remove cards from the board, other cards get revealed. It’s simple enough until they start throwing ice cards at you that have to be “unfrozen” with a fire card, or thorns that you have to untangle by uncovering all the cards on a rose. Then, as you remove cards from the board you might suddenly come across an egg. You can hatch your eggs for little pets. Do these pets do anything? Nope! But I have a baby unicorn!
So yeah, this game is highly addictive. Find the game too easy? Try the challenge mode and bang your head against the keyboard. Find the game too tough? Try quickplay or adventure mode. You can also spend in-game currency to unlock “talents” that help make the game easier like the ability to preview the next card in your deck, or the ability to know how many cards are remaining in your deck.
So, to wrap it up, I understand that ten dollars is a lot to spend on a solitaire game, but honestly It’s a great game and definitely worth it to pick it up on sale. The only thing that might turn people off is the “fairy” package the surrounds the play style. Yes, it’s a bit feminine but honestly it’s not going to stop your enjoyment in any way. (Baby unicorn!)
