HTC Vive Support

Support for the HTC Vive has been added to Metro Warp!

For now, that means an identical control scheme to the Oculus version. You'll need a controller for the best experience, although it works with just a keyboard. The Vive wands are not currently supported.

Look around to select things, and use either A/X buttons on a controller, or Enter/Return on a keyboard to push. WASD/joysticks to rotate.

To launch in VR for the Vive, either launch from the SteamVR dashboard, or pick "Launch Metro Warp in Steam VR Mode" when launching.

Another VR Update

In order to enable this mode (and play any oculus game bought from steam), you'll need to enable "side loading" in the Oculus dashboard. You can follow the instructions here to see how. Once that's done, launch the game and choose the "Launch in other VR" option.

From what I've seen, the side loading on Oculus works best when the headset and program are already booted up. Hopefully that stability will improve with their next few platform updates.

Be aware that the ideal input method is a controller! It's playable with a mouse/keyboard, but it'll be a little awkward. Also, like the Rift itself, this VR support is Windows-only for now.

Other Changes
For those of you without headsets or on Mac/Linux, there are some changes as well. A bunch of bug fixes have been thrown in, as well as changes and full redesigns to a few of the puzzles to help with the difficulty curve. Check and see if one you got stuck on was changed!

  • Rebuilding some puzzles that were unnecessarily difficult/unfun
  • Big chunk of VR fixes
  • Fixed Xbox One controller support
  • Some sound remastering to have more consistent volume levels
  • Some rare crashes/menu bugs fixed

Finally, Vive support will be coming once my headset comes in the mail, although it will likely be controller-only as well. I don't think I'll have the time to rewrite the interaction to work with room-scale.

About This Game

Do you enjoy telling people what to do? Of course you do! At Metro Warp, the universe's premiere budget transdimensional travel service, you will be placing obstacles and guiding those who are just trying to get to work. Our commuters are some of the most obedient in the business, with mostly voluntary brain chips which enable them to only turn left. Public transit is easy when everyone does the same thing!

Metro Warp is a puzzle game about discovering and learning patterns in commuters so that you can get them to the exit. Simply place some obstacles in front of them, and they'll (mostly) willingly turn to the left. Place as many barricades as you want! The only limitations are the shapes of the worlds, and some open service ducts.

Featuring:

  • Twisted 3D worlds!
  • 50 transit areas, ranging from easy to challenging.
  • New mechanics to discover
  • People staring at their phones
  • Non-linear progression. Get stuck on one area? Go try another!
  • Relaxing soundtrack with a dynamic music system
  • Oculus Rift support!
  • Full controller support

Puzzles go from "Good job!" to "Good luck."

Scenery is probably the easiest thing in this game, and by that, I mean to look at. The puzzles are hard as ♥♥♥♥, but at least they let you have a bit of confidence before making you slide out of your seat in boredom.

Fun game, game to play if you have nothing else to play. Puzzles get easy when you start to understand them.

Super boring game with no tips or instrctions to tell you what new things they introduce in a level. Crappy, lazy developer. I feel ripped off, and I even got the game for free. The original lemmings games were so much better than this. And how do you cahrege $10 for this? This is more like a $2 phone app.

if you like game that dont have any tutorials and require you to go online and look up guides just to figure out what the ♥♥♥♥ you are supposed to do or how, then this is the game for you. lets support more developers who are too ♥♥♥♥ing lazy to put even basic instructions or gameplay concepts into their games!!!!!!!!!

I changed this review to recommend with a few caveats:

After buying this i installed the game onto my PC through the Steam Link interface which crashed Steam and the game. After 60+ hours of the game being listed as being played (though not running on my machines) i requested Steam change my account status; after this was done i was able to uninstall the game and reinstall it, this time through my PC (not Steam Link); and it worked, i have played the first 5 or so levels.

Problems that need addressing:
- Resource usage optimization!
- Steam Link compatibility.

Pros:
+ Good concept.

Cons:
- The problems listed.
- Textures are too plain for my taste and colours are washed out. The developer could easily add some character to improve this.

Excellent, promising puzzle game

I saw this new on the front page of steam and decided to click on it. I immediately noted the game's awesome art style from the images/screenshots. The game was 10% off and I was happy to buy it. It was a good decision.

This particular puzzle game has a unique twist, 'the people have to turn left.' This provides a fun new way to experience this genre, and its something you have to consider at every point when choosing an approach to tackle the levels.

I've played through about half of the levels you can see from the start (I assume there aren't more as of now.)
They all provide a fun and rewarding challenge.

In terms of difficulty, there have been a couple of levels that have been slightly more challenging than others, and likewise there are several levels I could solve in one go, but overall the difficulty isn't too easy to be boring, but isn't too difficult to deter you away. I find it hits the mark almost perfectly.

It's the kind of game that once you figure out a certain way to solve a puzzle, you get a smile on your face.

Did get a little repetitive after a while, so I would recommend not attempting it in one sitting, although it's definitely possible. Once a level is completed, you can re-attempt it. I haven't played through it enough to say there is more than one possible way to complete a level, although I'm sure it's the case on many of the levels. At any rate I can't say I would go back and replay levels I've already completed.

Is it worth the price?
Since I feel the game isn't particularly replayable, I have to admit I feel that the base price is a little steep, I certainly don't feel ripped off, but I would definitely recommend purchasing the game reduced. I got mine for 10% off in its 'launch sale.'
"But hey, at least its not laiden with microtransactions!"

Overall:

PROS:
-Great Fun
-Great Singleplayer Puzzle Game
-Unique
-Great Art Style

CONS:
-Repetitive (Can get boring quick if you aren't patient.)
-Arguably a little pricey

Would Recommend

I give this game a 7/10

This is a great little game - for the £6.29 I paid for it, I can definitely recommend it.

On full graphical settings, it looks pretty good, certainly for a puzzle game. The puzzles are interesting and pretty well thought out, and it's a well-executed, great concept.

(This is probably not a very helpful review)

A puzzle game! Prunk like puzzles, though make Prunk bite tongue when concentrate too hard.

Game good. It look easy sometimes, but can get tricky. These are busy peoples, too busy to look where going and somehow they be broken since can only turn left! Most times can only turn left, sometimes magic sign make them turn right and confuse Prunk.

Prunk like how levels go from easy to tongue-biting. Music pretty catchy because Prunk always nodding to music when playing.

One thing don't make sense, why you have to get so many busy peoples into portals? No need so many and waste of peoples. Maybe only need six instead of sixteen? No matter. Prunk enjoy solving puzzles and say you should get game too and save all the busy peoples!

Prunk say:

Fun & Entertaining - 5 / 5 grunts
Skill Leveling - 4/5
Action Intensity - 1 / 5 grunts
Storyline - 1 / 5 grunts
Addictive - 5 / 5 grunts
OVERALL - 4 out of 5 grunts
