The game's story is quickly told: The little boy Razputin flees from her father's circus and wants a Psychonaut, a thought-warriors are in a Psycho Summer Camp.
When Raz discovers that the students of the Psychic Camp are kidnapped and taken her brain in the middle of the night, he has no choice but to save them all by entering the minds of various adults -- both good and bad -- to discover the source of the abductions. The game reads like a typical platformer , explore a large and there are a number of hard to reach areas which is a good challenge.

You find a many crazy characters. Raz is a heroic, funny, and also a little awkward at times. The most interesting aspects of Psychonauts' character does not come from their real conversations, but by their inner monologue. There's a great supporting cast, with roughly two dozen other characters who play parts both large and small in the story. Just listening in on the conversations between random characters is a great part of the game.

While you play and collect items scattered both the real world and mental worlds, did you improve your rank and get access to new skills, such as telekinesis, levitation, invisibility, and his clairvoyance. There is a lot to collect in psychonauts. You find psychic cards, scavenger hunt items and a lot of other items. Despite it being possible to upgrade to level 100, there's no need to get anywhere near that level to be strong enough to polish off the game's storyline.

The game isn't especially challenging and there is no replay value. The collection elements seem to go a bit too far.
Overall, if you search a fun and crazy adventure with a nice presentation and great story will find just that in Psychonauts.

Score: 80 / 100

(I could have sworn that I had already wrote a review of this, but oh well)

Psychonauts, one of the last great 3d platformers. Straight from the mind of Tim Schafer. 9/10

+A distinctive, and interesting visual style
+A fleshed out, imaginative world
+Some of the funniest diologue this side of... well... Grim Fandango
+Odd, interesting characters
+An awesome soundtrack
+Clever, and unconventional level design (I feel like pointing out The Milkman Conspiracy, Lungfishopoplis, and the Velvet stage)
+Psychic bears

-The texture work is very dated
-I should not have to look in the key bindings to figure out how to do a certain command when there is a forty-five minute long tutorial!
-You guys did not buy this game, and therefore there will never be a sequel (or a remake)

This is an amazing game. Incredibly detailed and a ton of fun to play. I've only gotten through about half the game so far- I haven't even unlocked all the psi powers yet, but I'm going to keep playing until I've collected everything. Except the fragments, because I'm not that masochistic.

I personally want to thank Inside Gaming's James Willems for always saying this was the best game ever. It wasn't my best but it's among the best ones for sure.

Got this in a pack along with Costume Quest and I had no idea this was going to be the best game I ever played. The game play is awesome, story is excellent and you can't beat the voice acting (Invader Zim!!), I would throw all kinds of money at a sequel. Hear my plea, Double Fine.

Much like Double Fine's other titles, it's really at its best a delightful cartoon. The story, the cutscenes, voice acting, art style, is top notch, but when it comes to the actual game portion things aren't as polished as I would've liked. It works, more or less.

I'm still going to go with a recommendation.

Psychonauts is one of the best games I've played in years. Everything from the gameplay to the story to the characters is perfect. As a 3D platformer the controls are fairly solid, even on KB/M. I had no trouble controling the game. The story and characters are top notch. Every character is memorable and hilarious. Seriously, there's not one boring or stale character in the game, which is hard to pull off. The graphics are decent for when this game was released, but the art style is great and the envirnonments are extremely varied. There is a pretty jarring difficulty spike near the end, but overall the game's difficulty scaled well with the abilities gained throughout the game. This game is incredibly underrated and the fact there isn't a sequel is criminal. Buy this game, play it. I guarantee you will love it.

In my opinion this game is a masterpiece, it's one of my favorites and this is why:

It has a great art style, environments and level design, it has interesting characters, and they all have a different look and can easily be told apart, also different personalities and it has funny little scenarios involving this characters that you care discover if you explore between the missions , also the game world and npc's even the enemies have a lot of detail put into them.
The story is funny and creative, the dialogue well written, the main character is likable and awesome. The gameplay is fun but the platforming can be annoying later in the game, the powers are extremely fun to use, also the game has a great soundtrack.

I greatly recommend this game, and I think that everybody should play it.

I absolutely detest platformer games. Yet this is my third playthrough of this masterpiece, I didn't even fully realise it was a platformer while jumping around, because I was too busy listening to the weird as hell characters and trying to get to that damn card over there! I'm glad I bought it on steam, as I missed my console version.

There's a million collectables (which I love trying to find), really simple but effective humour and for someone who can't and won't jump around for ♥♥♥♥, it's surprisingly fun and easy to play, while still being a long game with tedious but beatable moments.

Now I will say the actual story is a little...thin at times!? But it's damn fun, I love aiming to get everything and seeing all the strange minds. I love it, it makes no sense, but It's awesome. If you hate platformers, I don't know if I'd reccomend it, because although it's fun, it might cause you to rage quit, every case is different! MILKMAN

I liked this game, but it was too long and had way too many collectable objects and I don't mean just too many, I mean WAY TOO MANY. (7/10)
