Tried it out briefly, played for two hours. Tedious and unintelligent after playing FM 2015/2016, at least on the PC.

Once you FM you never go back.

This demo is a bad joke. The purpose of a demo should be to persuade me to buy the game. So, what happens when I launch the game for the first time? It offers me a few resolutions, of which the highest is 1280x720 or 1366x768 (cannot remember exactly, but you get my point). Okay, I pick the highest one, what's next? Textures quality is on Low by default, okay, let's swich it. Or not - the options are greyed out. Disgusted I launch the game. Let's ignore the clumsy settings and interface, the main goal of this demo for me is to try out the gameplay. That's alright I guess, but not enough to talk me into buying the game. I play two games, quit the game and uninstall. Well, another year without PES it is.

Good gameplay, bad licensing, TERRIBLE port.

First of all, the preview video and screenshots on Steam store page are misleading. The actual game doesn't look like that at all. Maybe they're from the console versions. Not sure why Steam allow a game publisher to do something like this.

For the gameplay, It's greatly improved from PES 2015. Tackling and sliding are way better than last year. The footballers can use their foot to steal the ball from their opponent's rear side without kicking their legs and get yellow/red card instead. Sliding is the same, they can slide from behind and take the ball and not the opponent legs. Very impressive.

Footballers seem to react to the through passes better than previous games. At least they know how to receive the ball properly and not just standing there like an idiot.

That's all of the good things.

Now, let me talk about the same old annoying issue they always have, the licensing issue. I feel like they didn't even try to make it better. All the English clubs (except for Man Utd) are fake. Lots of leagues have fake teams with only 2-3 licensed teams per league. Serie A always have full licenses but not this year. Sassuolo is fake in this game somehow.

National teams are also fake, like 60% of all national teams. Only the top tier nations have licensed. Unlicensed national teams don't even have proper uniform colors. Even worse than last year, many national teams also have fake players and I mean they're completely fake, not just fake names that you can just rename them like last year but they're 100% fictional.

For the graphics, yes, the complaints are true and Konami has no excuse for it. It's not about hardware or software limitation like some other console ports. It's just Konami's decision to give us poorer version of the game because they don't want the PC version to affect the sale numbers of the console versions. They need to understand that by doing so it wouldn't hurt the pirates but it hurts their PC customers who want to buy their product.

I will never buy a PES game again until they change their mind and tread PC gamers better. But knowing Konami, I won't expect anything from them. They don't even care about their employees, let alone their customers. That's why they're going out of the video game industry. I hope all of us will slam the door on their butt while they're leaving.

Update: I forgot to mention one more thing; the roster of every club are from 2014-15 season. Not a single summer transfer has been done. And as of today (Sep 25) they still didn't fix it, and they just announced that the first update will come out on Oct 29. This must be a joke but no, Konami is very serious about this.

From a gameplay point-of-view this is PES at its best!
But if you put this aspect aside and focus on the technical realization, it's obvious that this is a terrible, terrible port. The graphics look way worse than on the current-gen consoles, which is something the PC is more than capable of. When adjusting the resolution to 1920x1200, there are two black bars at the top/bottom of the screen. Why? This is so easy to solve! But it seems they just didn't care. Further evidence for this claim: There is (like in last year's demo) no other way to quit the game than to press ALT+F4.

Konami, you didn't even try...

Let me give you my honest take on the this game. I have been a Fifa player since 1998 or so. I tried playing a few of PES titles in the past and really did not like it. I had bought Fifa 15 for the PC. It was constantly lagging and the graphics weren't so great. It just felt like it wasn't smoothe. But Fifa is fifa, and it was still pretty fun to play. At last I saw PES had a demo out, so I decided to try it. Wow, the graphics are amazing, even on my setup. I mean the players look so realistic. Unfortunately I don't know much about licensing but the gameplay was very smoothe. Truth be told i have not played Fifa 16, but if it was anything liek 15 it would run terribly on my laptop with worse graphics than PES. Just based on from what I have played, I really enjoy this game!

To be honest, I am not angry with the Demo. The gameplay is great, the graphic is pretty decent.

However, THE DEMO LOOKS BETTER THAN THE OFFICIAL VERSION.
When going to the official version:
-Graphic is pretty horrible, seems like an early PS3 port
-Terrible lag when playing, both lags in inputs and lags in server (even when I am playing with some guys in the same continent)

Because the real game sucks so much, not so many people buy it, so you will have to wait a loooooong time looking for an opponent, and likely he is on the other side of the planet.

To sum it up, don't bother buying it. If KONAMI wishes to kill the PC version, then kill it. We need to pity from you.
