DungeonRift is arena-like dungeon crawl where your enemies grow and learn new perks instead of you. Every time you defeat them, the Rift will rebuild the dungeon around you and grant your enemies with more tools to defeat you.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since DungeonRift is our debut project we want players to get their hands on it sooner to help us with their feedback and suggestions. We've got everything planned and the game is reaching its final form, players could help us adjust this course to make the game even better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning to release the game in 3 months of Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In full version of the game we will implement:

  • More playable characters;
  • More foes to slain;
  • More detailed monsters' progression;
  • New weapons, magic and abilities;
  • Different locations;
  • Various game-modes;
  • Difficulty settings;
  • Local coop and versus.

We want to make interesting and unpredictable game. Game that does not rely on procedural generation to stay fresh.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We've completed core game mechanics, made the gameplay fluid, interesting and balanced. There is player progression system, enough monsters and their perks to guarantee a lot of unique playthroughs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're planning to make 25/33% discount during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Beta5 update released

Hey guys!
We’ve got an update for you. Complete patch-notes will be posted in a day or two, but here is an overview.

We’ve made difficulty settings! We haven’t touched HP or damage of anything in attempt to preserve the “feel” and balance of the game. Therefore all three difficulties got a lot in common, but “Easier” difficulty will be more forgiving in terms of heal amount from all sources, cooldowns between monsters’ attacks and traps’ activations. Actually we don’t have a lot of skill-variety players inside our team, so these settings will be adjusted in future - we’re looking for your feedback!

Another change is monsters behaviour, especially of Ralph, Terry and Kimberly. They are considered “beasts” now and will act accordingly. With less head-on attacks, basically.

User Interface was upgraded a little, now if you have a crown it’ll be placed above your HP cuz it’s basically an extra health. Also there is a little star near your secondary weapon, if it’s upgraded, as well as a little speedometer appears after an agility upgrade.

We’ve tweaked our local-coop a little: now camera zoom is a little less confusing and more smooth. Also only one player will receive healing for reaching a portal in par-time, which we hope will be used both tactically and competitively, depending of players’ mood. =)

Also we’ve made some technical changes with device recognition, and also added an option to redefine your input method on the fly. We don’t know if anyone will use it, but hey - it’s fine thing to have.

Next on our agenda: some monster-professions and new playable heroes. Right now enjoy new update, summer sale and summer itself!

Reviews

“DungeonRift is whimsical and it clearly doesn’t take itself very seriously. It is a well-polished game with a unique look that is just what you need to play when you want to kick back and relax.”
4.0/5.0 – SoftPedia

“The best game with the word "Dungeon" in it”
5/7 – Some random guy on the Internet

About This Game

Join Sir Bucket and his friends in their peaceful journey through DungeonRift!

Kill everybody on the level, grab the loot and move to the portal. But what's that? Monsters are following you! And they're becoming stronger and smarter! And the dungeon itself transforms into a darker, crippier and more dangerous place! How long will Sir Bucket survive?

Monsters are persons too!

Monsters are leveling instead of the player. Each enemy in DungeonRift has its own perks and abilities that they learn randomly, creating surprising and dangerous combinations. Every run won't be the same - different monsters choosing random perks will force Sir Bucket to adapt his strategy every time.

Obliterate your foes, explore the Rift, unlock new weapons and meet new rivals in your endless struggle in DungeonRift!

Main features already developed:

  • Fast and dynamic action;
  • Various abilities and perks for monsters;
  • 150+ of dungeon layouts;
  • Menacing traps;
  • Weapons with different mechanics;
  • Player progression system;
  • Two playable characters;
  • Dark humor;
  • Funny collectibles;
  • Sweet and tasty hand-drawn art;
  • Dynamic music by John Leonard French.

In the past...

DungeonRift was born as concept-project for a contest and rapidly became our obsession. We were very happy to see people playing our alpha-version and that's why we've decided to turn our last free version into a complete and polished product. That's what we've called the demoversion - you can download it right now and get the feel of DungeonRift. Most of the aforementioned features are there - you could decide for yourself, to support our project or not, carefree.

In the future...

We're planning to fill DungeonRift with content and new features in upcoming months.
Content-wise - updates with weapons, characters, monsters, perks and locations planned to be frequent and regular.
Feature-wise - we are very excited to add local-coop to our game and to make monsters' proficiency-system which will make them choose one of the two evolutions paths in mid-game therefore making the gameplay even more unpredictable and interesting.
There is much much more we've planned in the future, but we don't want you to bet on our promises - check the demo and join the early access if you are interested in where it's going.

Supersecret PolandRift game mode!

In this game mode you take control of Poland Ball and guide him through endless dungeons on his way into Space. But there is a lot of other countries, starving for his soul... And oil. Does Poland have oil? Never mind...

A pretty pointless random game.

Basic description:
- you take control of a helmet with a rusty sword and need to kill all of enemies before proceeding to a portal that takes you to the next level
- if you can make it in about 30 seconds then the game gives you a small time boost
- enemies do get more powerful with each level
- you don't get more powerful with each level
- you have like about one chest with random item inside - it can be a mace with higher damage value, an armor that gives you +2 hearts or +20 arrows for your bow, if you manage to find one that is
- rinse & repeat levels, die a lot, unlock some items, go one level further than before, die again, repeat

Idea may be fun enough, but final product is lacking gameplay value. There is really nothing in this game that would make me play it more and that would compel me to unlock stuff.

10 Euros for an Early Access indie game? Come on...

Been following this game for a very long time. From its infancy on indie game sights like gamejolt, to now. For a good reason, this game is awesome! If you would like to see my full lets play of this game, find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS8k-7yuFMg

This game is that perfect mix of simple to learn, and difficult to master. Its a great little time spender. And it has the amazing addicting quality that makes you do just a little bit better everytime you play. I have played close to 200 indie games for my channel, and few have made me clock as much time as this has. I cant wait to invest some time in the new polished up version on steam :-)

This is honestly one of my favorite time-waster type games! I can sit back & play this game for countless hours. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenging, but fun game! :D I also made a let's play video, which you can view by clicking the link below.

The developers of this game are also some of the coolest devs I've ever experienced. They actually sent me codes to the full version of this game after they saw my video of the GameJolt version of this game! :D

At first just for me DungeonRift looks like well known Crimsonland but with sword, bow and small piece of magic. And that's great.

Well, what we have to see in this game:
1. Exciting standard mode with b̶l̶a̶c̶k̶j̶a̶c̶k̶ knights and princesses;
2. Level constructor. Strange idea for roguelike game, but using it we can create any difficult large and funny levels with traps and surprises for monsters;
3. Poland rift mode. Do you like popular country balls comics? You have to play DungeonRift immediately!

11/10 Poland balls!

It's basicly "The Binding of Darksouls"
The graphics and style are cute, the gameplay is simple but challenging, the Items are balanced.
You just can't get annoyed by the game, just by your own skill.
Caution: It is addicting!

Fun and solid (and somewhere rogue-like) dungeon-crawler. Still much work to do for the devs, but you can get 4-5 hours of awesome gameplay - and much more time after every update (during alpha they were fairly frequent).

Pros:
- Easy to start and pretty hard to master;
- Very cute artwork;
- Neat balance. It have been changed every update, though...
- Different mechanics for different weapons;
- Various opponent's ability combos in late game;
- No loading screens throughout gameplay;
- Intensive and beautiful battle music;
- Losing is fun!

Cons:
- Still not enough content to unlock - waiting for more;
- Quite long initial loading time - hope they'll fix it;
- Slightly repetitive gameplay on earlier levels;
- Poor sound effects;
