このゲームについて

When one gives up living and using his soul, he can’t only lose
the soul but can also devote it to death…
Before souls completely die they stick in The Void – an odd space
between life and death. There is an outside chance to survive
in The Void and even to come back from it. This chance is
The Color – the only food of a dying soul wandering through
the mournful realms of The Void, governed by monstrous Brothers
and malicious Sisters, who are desperately struggling for the
last drops of it. The Color is not only the sense of life of these
mysterious creatures but also gives power and vital force to the
whole Void. The Color gives you power to do almost everything
even to get out of death clutches if you gain enough Color, but
there is a great lack of it in the arid deserts of The Void. There is
Color only for one.
Be the one, get your lost soul back!
  • The Color is the only resource in the game: it acts as the health,
inventory, skills and perks system, armory.
  • All in-game actions are realized through drawing. You literally
need to draw your way with your own blood.
  • Each Color can cause both harm and good. A player gets various
advantages from getting any of The Colors, but when he draws
with it he feeds the enemy forces of the world.
  • Fight with golems, bloodthirsty predators and other spawns
    of The Void.

The Void reminds me of Star Control 2, which is one of my favorite childhood games. It is one of the more unique games I have played in quite some time. It is a fairly long and complex game that doesn't explain anything until hours in. Therefore you may need to start over mid way through because of your actions.

You are introduced as a lost soul who was dragged to a world that is nearly barren of life. Your goal is to escape The Void, which can be done in different ways. There is a set timeline and where different factions will seek to convert you to their cause. Be warned that there is a LOT of female 3d nudity but no genitals or sex.

The game revolves around a limited resource known as "Color" in order to survive and accomplish tasks. Color is extracted by collecting flowers, planting and harvesting trees, mining rocks, catching critters, and defeating some enemies. It is initially harvested as a health that is temporarily used to boost stats. Over time it is converted into mana that is used for casting spells. The game hides a lot of information about the use of Color until late in the game. Therefore, it may be helpful to know that casting too many spells in the same area will cause problems for you and determines what endings are available to you.

This is easily one of the most player-unfriendly games I have ever encountered. This is basically a resource/adventure game, and you WILL have to restart a couple times after playing a couple hours each time, because the game is purposely vague and unforgiving with resources in the beginning. It is also a game which requires a good amount of micromanagement and reloading. The resource system is fairly complex, so I won't bother trying to explain it (it also SOUNDS really ridiculous).

The environment and storytelling is also confusing, but also compelling. The world is mostly black, grey, and white, and you are in constant search of color, which you require in your body in order to survive. The girls look like alluring goddesses and the guys are grotesque monstrosities, and it creates this really weird environment which is a mix of horror and sort-of-existential "WTF".

It's also a bit buggy, and crashes for no reason every once in a while.

This is not a "fun" game, but it could be worth a look for the environments, storytelling, and resource system. It is HARD though, so if you're easily frustrated stay away.

Although i personally love this game, i know most people won't. Why? Basically this game is the closest thing as an "abstract art game". Story is interesting and suspicious. Levels are creepy and interesting, even being small ones. Gameplay mechanic is unique, you have to use different colors to use attacks. You have to harvest this colors from the gardens so you can keep them in your body, they are also your "HP" as well as your attacks, so you have to manage both. You also can give the colors to other npcs so they can live again. This game is hard, i tell you that, it does not tell you what's your objective (not directly, so you will be confused if what you are doing is correct or not) and the game does not hold your hand. Boss fights are tough as hell if you don't have loads of colors with you. Also you have a big feeling of loneliness and tension while playing, even tho this is not a horror game. Some characters looks like monsters coming out of Hellraiser.

Also be aware that you walk around a lot, and combat is not real time. When choosing a color the game enters in slow motion and you can choose how much color to use to attack someone or give someone. To make some actions and magics you have to draw different shapes (they show you the shape so you can copy in the bottom of the screen), which i found really interesting. Again, this game is really hard, so it won't be a walk in the park and you might get bored of going around, coming back to get color, etc. Another tip is to save whenever you can, because if you run out of color (meaning you will have 0 color with you) you die and can only go back using a save file.

Conclusion is: I won't recommend this game because it is a bad game, it's not, but i am sure most people will hate it, so it's best to save your money. If you are interested in a surreal game, with crazy worlds, crazy npcs and crazy mechanics, you might love this as i did.

It seems that you either love this game or you hate it. I hate it. It is very hard. OK, I can cope with hard. Getting the "Pacifist" achievement in Deus Ex: Human Revolution was hard, but I did it and enjoyed every minute. It is weird. OK, I can cope with weird. Alice: Madness Returns is pretty weird and I got my money's worth out of that. So what's the problem? I think the main problem is that it's very, very, very slow. You have to figure out what the Void is going on in order to get anywhere. This requires trial and error. You're given some hints by NPCs, but some of these hints point you in the wrong direction and you have to unlearn them. Which often means giving up and going back to a saved game. And then, covering the same ground again and getting it right just ... drags. In frustration, I looked up what appears to be an authoratative guide, citing information from the game's developers. Following this meticulously for three hours, I appear to be in an impossible situation only 10% of the way into the game and I'll have to start again. Why? What happens is apparently to some degree random, not enough green color appeared and now I'm toast. Do I want to re-play three hours knowing that once again the outcome will be partially random. Hell, no. I think I'll go back to Portal 2 and see what's going on with the Perpetual Testing Initiative. Money wasted. Fortunately, not much ($0.99).

One of the best dating/coloring books simulators of all time. Some features include:
1) Scribbling on women until they have to change their clothing
2) Growing your own crayons
3) Scribbling over small childrens' bad drawings-come-to-life until they cease to exist
4) Feeling helpless as your cruel older brothers steal your crayons and critisize your art
If a combination of Animal Crossing and Amnesia: the Dark Descent sounds like a great game, than this is the game for you. The Void does a great job of capturing the sense of urgency to escape from one's nieghbors that both Animal Crossing and Amnesia: the Dark Descent are famous for, but sadly comes across as weird in all the wrong ways.

!!CAUTION!!
