The game is too easy and too short. It took me about 45 minutes to complete all the levels (some of my playtime was alt-tabed)
with these being said, 1 dollar is nothing so just buy it and see for yourselves instead of reading reviews

Fun little puzzle game. It gets increasingly complex towards the end, but at no point will you feel like it is too difficult.
The art used is also quite pleasing.

Awesome puzzle game! Super relaxing but still requires a lot of thought and brain power. Absolutely loved playing it just wish it was longer! (Please make an update with more levels :P)

I have a habit of trying to rush through puzzle games, so this was a refreshing lesson in slowing down and taking my time. Puzzles are deceptive--they can look daunting, but stopping to suss out what connects to where reveals a much simpler task. Still not a push-over, I don't think, but a pleasant and enjoyable experience nonetheless.

This was a fun game but I beat it extremely quickly in under an hour so its up to you if you want to buy it but I really enjoyed the time I played it but has no replay potential.

While I didn't really enjoy this game and will never play it again, I'm still recommending it because it's only $1. If you like puzzle games, this is a good one to try.

Hook is a visually simple, ambient puzzle game with some interesting elements, like the titular hooks. I really tried to like it, but for some reason, I just kept getting bored of it. Also, some of my play time was offline, so yes, I did play more than 0.6 hours.

Overall, it's definitely worth giving a try if you're hankering for some relatively simple puzzle action.

It is a very fun and thought prevoking puzzle game. The price is very cheap so i would reccommend getting it because it is a great game to pass the time with. My only isssue is that there are only 50 levels.

What you see is what you get, it's a very minimalistic, clean design that teaches you how to play without a single word.
Progression is fair, each level more difficult than the last, always letting you understand every new item, never escalating too quickly, there's a name for that, it's good game design.

The game is being sold for less than the drink I've had while playing. It was equally enjoyable but lasted much longer.

Buy this, it's worth it.

Simplistic, short and sweet. Played it through in about 80 minutes of actually trying. Probably not recommended for hardcore puzzlers since the game really isn't that difficult, but for casual players who just want to take their dusty braincells for a spin it's well worth the asking price (~1$ at the time of this review). You need a bit of concentration and you're good to go. With the rule of thumb of 1$/hour of playtime I can wholeheartedly recommend Hook.

Great game! Relaxing music, a bit difficult at the end, easy when you start. Less graphics, more meaning! I hope there will be more levels! The best two with half hours I spend after work.

Fun game to play to pass the time when you're bored. Also it helps stimulate your brain a bit which is pretty cool. Cheap game, so no complaints about anything really. It honestly is just a really well made game set at an affordable price. Also there's only one achievement in the game. So just beat it and you can tell your friends you have a game with 100% achievements on steam. I play while I wait for esea/mm/league of legends queues. Its a good game for those things or just if you want to pass some time. Definitely would recommend. I feel negative reviews on this game are left by people who don't know how to solve simple puzzles, lul.

Finished in a hour, Good concept, I'd love to see more.
It can be confusing, but once you get it, you just need to be careful, or just spam click things, whatever suits you.
though spam clicking things in a puzzle game is like trying to guess a old forgotten password... it wont get you far.

But seriously though, I'd love a editor mode, or a sequel to this, maybe a layered style as well, to add to some of the complexity (but remove the confounded wire designs, not entirely, but just reduce them)

Hook: Beautifully Basic

This is one of those rare gems of a game which is seductively simple while still being skillfully satisfying. When watching the trailer, I was baffled as to the mechanics of the game, but I was certain that I would enjoy figuring it out as I went. I am surprised after playing it that I didn't understand how it worked; it really is that simple!
In playing Hook, one takes on the role of "machine disassembler". You're trying to unwind, or rather unhook, these schematic-looking devices and pull everything through to their sources without getting tangled in the other components. That's really all there is to it. Through tracing the paths and carefully selecting which one can be pulled out without bumping any of the others, you continue to choose which to remove next until all the pieces are gone. If you mess up and tangle the pieces, you must restart the level entirely, but choose your calls carefully and it's not an issue. From level 40 onwards you receive three lives before a mandatory restart instead of one. The levels do become very complex and visually-daunting, but take your time and make sure you know what pushing each button is going to do and everything will resolve. A treasure trove for the detail-oriented mind!
There's something deceptively-pleasing as you watch the piece successfully slide out, a casual reminder of your shining brilliance and mastery of puzzle games. But alas, with an intellect such as yours this game will not last long, and soon you will need to move forward into different lands of puzzles to deduct and conquer.

I picked it up and played through it in two days. It took me 77 minutes to complete this game's fifty levels. That wasn't long, but a couple of days later I showed it to my girlfriend, who proceeded to beat it in a single session, trying initially to beat the game without messing up, but (after that failed) resolving to beating my time. She finished in 67 minutes (which doesn't mean she is smarter than me! I'm just more methodical and patient! Yeah, patient...), a satisfied faux-mechanic as well. Then days later we showed it to her younger brother, an engineer wanna-be. He enjoyed it until about level 42, when he was going too fast and on a complex level. Once he had to restart it, he decided he wasn't patient enough to try again. He never completed it. Then a relative of my girlfriend came over with her boyfriend. I wasn't feeling overly social that night so while the girls played "makeup" I brought out Hook to show the other boyfriend. He played slowly for a good while, and didn't end up completing it because the night evolved otherwise, but enjoyed the game and resolved to purchase it on his own!

So there you have it. Hook: Seductively-Simple. Skillfully-Satisfying.
