About This Game

The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game. This is the same version that is hosted on our main website, but should be the most user-friendly to install and update.

Once installed, no additional steps are needed to launch Skyrim with SKSE's added functionality. The Steam in-game overlay must be enabled for this integration to work. If you prefer running without the overlay, start Skyrim by launching skse_loader.

If you use multiple Steam libraries, please make sure to install SKSE to the same library that you have chosen for Skyrim.

By default, this installation will automatically update to the latest version of SKSE when released. If you prefer to stay on an older version, they will be available via the "betas" tab, allowing you to pick an older build.

The current version of SKSE is 1.7.3.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP or newer
    • Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
    • DirectX: Version 9.0
    • Storage: 6 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

If you want mods, you need this, simple as that. It works great, installs easy and fast integration, I don't know why people refuse to use it.

Goods and contras:
  • (+) The absolutely easiest way to manage your items. ✅
  • (+) The 'Favourite' menu boost the game play much more! ✅
  • (+) The 'Group' helps you to change your weapons, wears in a second! ✅
  • (+) It is free! ✅

  • (-) It takes a bit long to get used to it, and set up the 'Favourite' and 'Group' menus. But it absolutely worth it! ⍻

Crash, bug, glitch:
The game has already buggy itself, so, I'm sure it doesn't the 'SKSE'. ✅

My personally opinion:
At the first time when I saw the Skyrim's default inventory menu, I quitted immediately and begin to search the solution.
Personally, I'd been a bit disappointed because of the default menu of Skyrim, I can't believe that the 'Bethesda' developers thought that would enough.

Recommendation:
I recommend this to all the 'The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim' players! Without exception! ✅

To the Achievement-Hunters:
There are not any of extra achievements in here. You don't need to worry about your 'Average Achievement Rate'. ✅

Skyrim needs to have it's script extended. Dont be shy or bashful, install this and let Skyrim unzip and show you just how much it can extend.

10/10 would let Skyrim extend for me anyday.

It works for me, though some people complain that the steam version doesn't work

Steps:
1. Install
2. Run once
3. Now you can just launch the it through the main exe, skse will work

Skyrim Script Extender is, simply put, what allows modders to bypass Skyrim's scripting capabilities to create new stuff.
If you are creating or using mods for Skyrim, you probably know about that. Without SKSE, a lot of mods wouldn't have seen the light of the day, and for that, I'm thankful to the team behind that amazing tool.

Not only does it add new scripting capabilities, but if you use its INI file, it can also improve your game's performances and help with savegame corruption.

Modding Skyrim was a cake, SKSE is the chocolate and the cherry on top of this cake. A must-have for modders and mod users, especially since it's now available on Steam with a one-click install.

Simple to install, simple to use, and it works. Basically sums up the SKSE.

More than I ever wanted.

If you are using the reviews to consider if you want SKSE than you should learn about SKSE.

Just use the damn thing if you want to mod.
