About This Game

The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game. This is the same version that is hosted on our main website, but should be the most user-friendly to install and update.

Once installed, no additional steps are needed to launch Skyrim with SKSE's added functionality. The Steam in-game overlay must be enabled for this integration to work. If you prefer running without the overlay, start Skyrim by launching skse_loader.

If you use multiple Steam libraries, please make sure to install SKSE to the same library that you have chosen for Skyrim.

By default, this installation will automatically update to the latest version of SKSE when released. If you prefer to stay on an older version, they will be available via the "betas" tab, allowing you to pick an older build.

The current version of SKSE is 1.7.3.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP or newer

The best plugin for most mods needed to work in skyrim is now finally avaliable via steam.
Personally after modding over 900 hours in Skyrim, I have found this tool to be essential for skyrim and my mod testing and playtime included. Huge thanks and hearts goes out to the team behind this tool and the implentation of it via steam.
I highly recommend this as a requirement when it comes to modding skyrim.
10 out of 10 score of perfection in what it does and accomplish for me. - Rickey

This is a needed add-on for many mods in Skyrim. By itself it doesn't do anything, but will allow many mods to be used.

Best unoffical Skyrim launcher ever, you need it if you want to mod. At least, if you want the cool mods.

This is great for helping manage all of the mods that I use in SKyrim. Also helps with the mods from Nexus.

I've been playing Skyrim on/off for many years since its release. Despite its age its still a adventrou, immersive, life breathing world with plenty of goals and opportunities backed with hundreds of well developed and inspiring mods.

Pros;
Huge World filled with tranqulity, ruins, tombs, caves, forts and farms
Good set of main cities, each filled with their unique charm and architecture
Hours of gameplay, sidequests and missions
Balanced character development

Cons;
Prone to CTD's (depending on mods and system)
Journal bloat. Cannot cancel unwanted quests (only through command console)
Merchents only carry between 700 - 1100 gold. Can be hard to sell junk
Game is only good with mods
32bit application. Uses up to 3GB RAM, anymore results in a crash
Voice acting - dialogue becomes lifeless after awhile
Doesnt have the same spark as Oblivion
