We're excited to release this patch with all of it's fixes and changes. We are hard at work on more content; currently polishing a new map and mode *cough_vehicles_cough*, starting on another map and mode. We also have 3 new characters in game and being tested, we really wanted to get them into this patch, but we didn't want to delay the patch any further.

About This Game

Take part of history’s greatest battle of Green VS. Tan. Fight amongst and against others online. Jump, shoot and roll your way into victory with fast paced objective based gameplay. Sometimes the greatest battles are fought by the smallest of soldiers.

The Mean Greens is a 3rd-person shooter played from the perspective of toy army soldiers. Match up with others online for some friendly multiplayer competition. Enjoy a huge battle of up to 10 players in each environmentally unique map.

  • 10 Modes
  • 10 Maps
  • 6 Weapons
  • 5v5 Multiplayer Battles
  • Full Controller Support
  • Voice Chat
  • Text Chat
  • Party Matchmaking
  • Dedicated Servers

  • What does a bathtub, sunken boats, rubber ducks and a giant octopus have in common? The Mean Greens Bathtub Bash that’s what! Hop onto the floating rubber ducks and ride to the sunken ships in the middle of the map. Avoid crossfire, grab a flag off of the ship, and carry it to your base. The team with the most flags at the end of the round wins.

  • It’s game night! As The Mean Greens battle against each other in an all-out paper-craft war, more than dice will roll across this table. Go head-to-head as tan and green teams fight for control of the city. The objective is simple, be the first team to reach 30 kills.

  • Even a beautiful aquatic adventure has its dangers. Run over aquarium décor and capture flags in sunken ruins as you square off in an underwater playground. Fight your way across the duel bridges to steal the flag that sits in the sunken temples.
This map puts a whole new twist on the traditional capture the flag mode with its “Low – gravity” action and captivating nautical theme.

  • It’s full on war to conquer the countertop in this decked out kitchen! Push the other team’s cup off the counter and destroy their only way to zipline into your territory.

  • The mood is a bit chilly as you fight your way through this food-filled freezer. Everyone melts the ice cube in the center to get to the lower level, and then it’s a mad rush as you try to free your frozen dinosaur before the opposing team releases theirs.

  • This train is leaving the station with or without you! Enjoy this Christmas themed level while you travel over holiday sweets to claim your capture points on this nostalgic toy train. It’s tug-of-war, as both tan and green teams battle back and forth to maintain control of all three capture points.

  • This farm style soccer match is a new take on Foosball that you’ve never experienced before. Shoot, blast, and push the ball into the enemies’ barn to score the most points. Don’t drop the ball and watch out for the moving 3-rod pigs and cows.

  • Got game? Explore a colorful world on top of chessboards, boxes, and racetracks. Hold the center of the map in this traditional King of the Hill game mode. Just don’t get hit by the other team or the racing cars.

  • It’s birthday time, but the other team is full of party-poopers that don’t want the festivities to begin. Fight your way up the cake and start the celebration by lighting all the candles on each layer. The attacking team must jump from the gelatin launch pad and onto the multi-layered cake to light each candle. The defending team must fend off the other team’s attempts to light each wick until time is up.

  • Turn the tables on your opponent in this death match. Be as crafty as you can to survive and mark your territory. Perfect the art of combat and chalk up those points to make it into the Champions Circle!

This game definitely needs more people.

The Mean Greens - Plastic Warfare harkens back to a time when games had higher standards, a time that lived its' last days perhaps a decade ago or so.
When you get this game, you'll see that everything's in there already. Very few modifications or fixes need to be done. It has that rare combination of fun gameplay, fine graphics, clever map concepts, and epic soundtrack (the soundtrack is extremely catchy and was composed by three different people, which brings a harmonious variety of music genres into the fold). This is a stark contrast to the current blockbuster games which attract large numbers of buyers whilst [initially] containing very limited content.

The major curse that has befallen this game is precisely one of numbers. Namely, too few people are playing it. This makes most parties pretty much empty. And yet, the game is still enjoyable enough to be played in a 3v3 scuffle. I see that most buyers have resorted to handing out negative reviews because of that, and this is hardly fair in my book. The devs should consider introducing bots to keep the game on its' toes for what it's worth. Running With Rifles does that, so why shouldn't they?

What can I say? This game surely stands out in several ways. I wouldn't necessarily say that it is an underrated game, but it cruelly suffers from undeserved neglect instead.

If you enjoyed Toy Soldiers, then you'll definitely enjoy The Mean Greens.

Very fun third person shooter. Games can feel very intense even when you are surrounded by toys and snacks. Graphics are very pretty. All it needs is a higher player count.

The Mean Greens is a colorful, fun third person shooter made with the unreal engine. I will list the pros and cons of this game.
Pros:
+The game is colorful and enjoying to look at, maps like "Art table" are just riddled with colors, the lighting in the game is done right too.
+It runs like butter on my pc, and on my cheap laptop, I can't really imagine anyone experiencing framedrops with a decent setup.
+The music is catchy and nice to listen too, I had a smile on my face when I first heard the song during operation birthday, or hearing ride of the valkyres during Bathtub bash.
+Everyone has all the guns at all times, there is no reason to complain being killed.
+Each map has it's own game mode, all with different varieties. Modes like team deathmatch in the Table top wars map, FFA in the art table shuffle, Attack and defend in Operation birthday cake, and one of my favorites which is bathtub bash, a mode where you must ride rubber duckys to reach flags and deliver the flags back to your ship.

Now If what I said above is convincing you to buy the game, what I say next can probably change that.
Cons:
-While there are a ton of different game modes, some quite work out. In the map Operation birthday, the objective is to assault a birthday cake and light as much candles as you can while the enemy team stops you. After around halftime, the sides switch, so if team 1 lit 10 candles, all team 2 has to do is light 11. If team 2 lights 11 within the first minute, you've already won the game, and must wait the next 3 minutes until the round ends to be declared the winner (Which I think is stupid). Some game modes just require suicide to win. In the game modes Kitchen run and Deep freeze, all you have to do is run to your objective and do the action it tells you to (such as pushing the enemy cup off the table or unfreezing your dinosaur), so you can play the game for 4 minutes in a straight up tie, but 1 enemy touched your cup just slightly, and you lost the game.
-The servers can be absolutely horrible at times, you can hit join game and be waiting up to 3 minutes just so it could tell you that you failed to connect.
-The worst one would have to be-
The game is completely empty, I hit server browser only to find out there are 10 players online in TOTAL, if you are lucky you can find a server with maybe 6 people, and people usually leave during it. The game is fun with people to play, and no one ever plays.

Conclusion: I don't see the $10 dollar price being worth it up to now, I bought the game on release and I still don't feel like it was a good buy, but I can't not recommend this game, if you have a couple of buddys that will play it with you it's an excellent choice, otherwise wait for the price to be lowered. I see this more as a game that should be free to play, it's amazing but all it needs is a community to play it, and not a lot of people will pay for a game without players already playing it.

(Sorry if this review was long, it's the first game i've reviewed and I felt like I had to tell people about this game.)

Such a fun game....I love this so much, but more people need to take the leap and buy it. It\'s people like me who make the game fun for everyone else. I bought it, hoping to get a couple of fun games out of it when I could get into a game. At the time of writing this review (6/1/16, 5:25pm), there are no players online. An hour ago, there were about 15 and I got into a full lobby and it was a blast! Worth every dollar spent. If you are hesitant to buy this game, send me a message and I\'ll play with you if that\'s what it takes. All this game needs is a couple of good reviews from internet personalities and a steam sale and it\'ll be golden. Almost zero bugs, super easy to run and incredibly fun. 9/10

I know what you're asking, is it like the Army Men games?

Well, not 100% quite. It is a good game, however. It's like the Army Men series, but a bit faster paced. There is no single player, there is no bots, and there isn't weapon pick ups or drops or the likes as far as I currently can tell. You start out with all the weapons and they're poorly balanced.

The shotgun really out shines the main rifle, or all the weapons really. The flame thrower is a tad underwhelming. This balance can really ruin the game for some players. I also find the rocket launcher a bit too powerful as well, but it isn't like you have a whole lot of shots with it, so it isn't a strong complaint from me.

Though you will not get 5v5 games, I did just finish a 3v3 game. I do not understand how this game got so many negative reviews for being dead when there is plenty of games being hosted occupied by players.

Pros:
Nostalgia exploitation but satisfying
Good fast gameplay, easy to pick up and learn, good game to play every once in awhile with friends
Well made maps, all good looking
game modes creative and enjoyable, very refreshing, though some feel slightly similar to existing ones.
This game is still worked on frequent enough to not feel alarmed about the investment.

cons:
Dreadful balance system.
No auto balance, no option to join losing team in game, cannot switch teams when "game is about to start."
No single player, no campaign, no bots, nothing beyond PvP.
The crosshair is not perfectly reliable when used for aiming during situations where you might be behind cover; this is a common problem for other third person shooters as wel, consider this a nitpick.

Overall, I say 7.5/10 is deserved. Good game, buy it if you got a solid group of friends.

If the game were to ever develop bots and AI, this game has A LOT of potential to be a must have game for a group of friends. Whether it was to make a good campaign/coop mode, or perhaps a mode where all players fight a giant toy dinosaur or such, the potential is endless. The developers are currently looking into AI, but the results or implementation remains a mystery as of now.
