In case you are reading this review before reading the others, DO NOT use this voice pack the first time you play.

But if you are playing again (you know you want to, for those extra endings / achievements if no other reason), then this pack adds a funny voice-over that reminds you that you are playing a video game. Plus Serious Sam likes shoot-em-up games instead of puzzle games, so he rags on you for that. Funny, meta, adds a bit of variety for additional play-throughs and well worth the price.

If you will like this or not is pretty subjective I think.
But it definitly is a interesting change of the games narrative.
And having the voice in the sky advertising it`s own game and making meta jokes about you beeing in a videogame while you`re playing is kinda funny.
The voice is not actually beeing serious, but with the new script comes a Sam as narrator who adds a funny meta-level to the game by constantly making fun about stuff in the game and about you as the games player and protagonist.

One little warning though : Do not use this DLC on your first playthrough!!
It destroys the games immersion and atmosphere!
Only recommendable to people who already played the TTP once in it`s original state.

Instruction how to ruin plot and atmosphere of the game:
1.Buy the game
2.Buy this DLC
3.Instal and run game
4.Change elohim voice to sam
5.Start your FIRST playthrough
6.DO NOT change voice of elohim before you finish the game
7.???
8.Congrats, you are just complete the long puzzle game with hilarious voice acting, now you better change elohim to normal and start the new game because you actually did nothing

Sam sadly doesn't have subtitles last I checked, but his dialog is still 100% worth it.

These reviews really need a "meh" option (supplementing "Yes, I recommend this" and "No, I don't recommend this). I'm recommending "The Talos Principle - Serious DLC," but really, it's just..., meh. It's adequately done, but nothing special. The one need it meets is if you have to (or just want to) repeat the game, it changes things up a bit so you get some variety. So, yes. I'm recommending it. But, there's nothing big here.

Rather than just being a change of voice, it changes the script as well, making it seem more like you're being talked to by Serious Sam himself. Hilarious and definitely worth a look.

This small DLC is hilariously funny!!! I am literally laughing out loud when playing it!

Serious Sam's lines are in no way Serious, nor should they be! He makes fun of everything in the game, including you. This means that you SHOULD NOT use this DLC on your first playthrough of The Talos Principle, as it totally breaks the immersion. On subsequent playthroughs though, YES you should try this DLC!!! :D

I don't recommend drinking anything during while playing, consider yourself warned! Or, as Sam would say, DO drink while playing, preferably something that tastes real funny when you get it in your nose!
