Too similar to the first one for me to enjoy. Found myself getting bored because I felt like I was playing the first game all over again and thats not the way I roll. Birds nesting in your nose be aware.

Fantastic game with interesting story and very enjoyable gameplay. Co-op available in this installment of Trine makes it much more replayable. The visuals are also very well done, and it has a great mix of combat, puzzles, and skills and strategy. I highly recommend this game.

Trine 2 is another excellent puzzle platformer from Frozenbyte. It is very similar to the original Trine, especially compared to the Trine Enchanted Edition which uses the same engine. This review is for Trine 2 Complete Story, which includes both the original campaign and the Goblin Menace DLC.

Trine 2 offers some of the best puzzle platforming out there with gorgeuous art, beautiful soundtrack and fun fairytale world and story. Compared to the original Trine, the leveling works little bit differently, the three characters have slightly different abilities and there's no item system anymore. The core gameplay is still hugely enjoyable, and mainly consists of fun physics based puzzles and simple combat. Especially with the Goblin Menace DLC the game is also a fair bit longer than the original Trine.

My main complaint would be the low difficulty level. Even on hard most of the combat encounters are rather easy and adjusting the difficulty level does little to the physics puzzles. At least the game adds some new elements to its puzzles like water and steam to keep things interesting.

Goblin Menace DLC adds a decent amount of levels and beautiful new environments. The level design is not quite as fun as the original campaign and it's rather light on story elements, but it's still a great piece of extra content. In the Complete Edition both the main campaign and the DLC can be played back to back.

Between the superb art and fun gameplay Trine 2 is easy to recommended to anyone who likes puzzle platformers.

The good:
- Superb art
- Great soundtrack
- Excellent Lost Vikings inspired gameplay with fun physics-based puzzles
- Interesting fairytale world

The bad:
- Puzzles are too easy as the physics engine is trivial to abuse

The ugly:
- Zoya's animations can sometimes get stuck
- Got stuck in the Belly of the Beast level due to a bug, reload fixed the issue
