A 3 Mission Minor Campaign Expansion to Grey Goo
https://youtu.be/9mP5vq5zjME
+ Helps clear up some missing story elements involving Singelton and the Goo.
+ The 1st and 3rd missions were pretty fun to play and were nice additions to the game.

- For the price currently ($7.99) I felt this DLC was more or less a joke. You basically get about 1 hour's worth of content.
- The 2nd mission is a "stealth" mission meaning you just walk around and avoid getting caught. It's only about 10minutes long as well which is likely the shortest mission in the entire game.
- The entire Emergence Campaign felt like it was just removed from the main campaign and instead added as DLC. This campaign has some pretty vital story elements that were missing from the main campaign. If you played through Grey Goo and though "Wtf? I thought Singelton sacrificed himself by blowing up the Goo, how is he back?" Well... that gap is this campaign...
- All 3 missions felt a bit "too easy" compared to other missions of Grey Goo. The only challenging part is fighting the Goo "Purger" (super unit) which doesn't move and just has a devestating AoE attack. (I somehow got him glitched where he stopped defending itself)

In conclusion: It's a nice addition, but it should have been in the main game... This is NOT a full campaign. It's a few missions that were essentially ripped from production and added as DLC.

Singletons Side Story, That Fills the Narrative

Emegence is rather small DLC in itself, it has 3 story missions that last somewhere around 2.5h to 4.0h depending on your playstyle and what difficulty you will be playing. All of three maps are quite different from each other and change a lot in terms of playstyle, while first one is about defending points and assaulting at same time. Second mission is all about espionage.

I find emergence kinda important part of the story and development of Singletons character in the story, the main campaigns story was somewhat cliche and lacking, but i think Emergence does great job filling some of plotlines up. Top of this you get to play as Singleton (Sadly only in 1 mission)

Overall its pretty great DLC, while its price might not justify the hours (However its these days bundled with maingame so that doesnt really matter)

fun missions, but if i didn't have it with the game it would not have been worth almost $10 for just 3 missions

if it's on sale for a few bucks get it, but otherwise you are not missing much

Worth it on sale, explains what should've already been explained in the main campaign, but a fun mission pack. First times for this game being hero units, goo vs goo in campaign, and a purely army mission.

A bit pricey for three extra missions but the production values are on point and there's a lavish attention to the maps and design that was occasionally missing from the base game. Each of the missions explores some mechanics that aren't really explored in the original campaign (three-way battles, mother goo combat, units-only mission, ) as well as some unique stuff for the scenario and I think it's very welcome to have these few missions that fill in gaps in the campaign's narrative and provide a touch more context.

Recommended, though I'd wait for a sale.

A short but sweet campaign expansion. The story fills in a few gaps in the existing campaign and teases of the direction that a larger expansion or a sequel will go in. The new missions don't seem as difficult as the main campaign, but do play with some different mechanics that the main campaign didn't use much of, if at all.

As a free update for anyone who currently owns the game this pack is awesome, how well priced it will be for new players has yet to be seen. The new campaign should take most players no more than two hours to complete.
