Winner, Best Downloadable Game by GameSpot's E3 Editors' Choice Awards

"Apart from the beautiful graphics, what made the game stand out was just how spot-on everything was--whether it was the controls, the interactions between the three characters, or the puzzle-solving mechanics, it's clear the developers spent a lot of time refining the gameplay." full review

About This Game

Trine is a fantasy action game where the player can create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Set in a world of great castles and strange machinery, three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil.

The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics - each character's different abilities help the player battle an army of undead and defeat hazardous contraptions. The player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle: The Wizard is able to summon objects to help solve puzzles and create new ways to overcome obstacles, the Thief uses her agility and dead-on accuracy to swiftly surprise the monsters, and the Knight unleashes mayhem and physical destruction wherever he goes.

This is a brilliant game. The graphics are exeptional and the objects work exactly as they should with high quality inertia. The characters have different skills and uses depending on where they are needed and the puzzles are very interesting to solve. I found no bugs or problems with the gameplay and it's in depth enough to make it playable after completing it as it will be hard to remember everything. Top class.

Nice and very beautiful game. Controls are excellent and gaming is versatile.
Single negative thing in this game is too hard last mission, but it become easier when you lower difficulty to easy.

Finns can make awesome games too! <3

REVIEW :
Beautiful graphics and music, interesting narration story, fun casual gameplay. The only downside is the last level, really annoying and anti-climax compared with the previous levels. Overall a good casual side-scrolling platforming game.

CONCLUSION :
Recommended on sale price.

The first part of this wonderful trilogy, a start of something new and refreshing. I've always been a massive fan of metroidvanias and this game simply bolsters my obsession with them. One could even call me bigoted, but I'm sure most people will agree with my review.

The first part of this trilogy, coming out in 2009 was a start of something intuitive, nobody else was really accomodated with the "metroidvania" genre of video games, but I'm sure this game left an impression on a lot of people. It's challenging, rewarding and though-provoking, just like any metroidvania should be. Although a bit on the short side, the game offers a lot of fun, especially with friends. Each role in this game (The Wizard, Thief and Knight) has their own unique abilities and each one is necessary for the adventure ahead. It's really clever how they designed it that way, none of the party members are "useless" or "X party member is better than Y party member", it's quite witty how they designed it that way. They all need eachother to survive, you can't finish the game with one of them missing.

The ending however, although a bit underwhelming is a satisfying one at that. Challenging and fun to play, recommended, even for full price.

A great game, i especially like the voice acting, which wasn't a stereotypical narrator voice, but a warm cozy voice. It's really a fairy tale.

Trine is a side-scrolling action platform/puzzle game developed by Frozenbyte, originally released in 2009. A remake of Trine called Trine: Enchanted Edition was released. It ports the game to the Trine 2 engine and adds online multiplayer.
The gameplay consists of controlling and switches between three different characters (a wizard, a thief, and a knight) to try to complete levels filled with enemies, lots of great puzzles and many secret treasures. There is also a experience system that is shared among all characters, and is incremented by acquiring bottles found throughout levels. Every 50 experience points, each character is given one point towards the purchase of upgrades to their abilities.
After so many years this is still one of the best local/online co-op experiences I've seen. Due to the enhanced edition upgrade, the game still looks good (#1, #2) and sounds amazing, just listen to the soundtrack.

This game is great for playing with friends online or locally, it's puzzles are simple enough to not get frustrated yet hard enough to provide a challenge. The characters all have different way to approach each obsticle and each can do it alone.
Although the game seems a tad bit overpriced as me and my friend completed the game in 5 hours.
If it is on sale you should definitely buy this.
8/10 for 5 hours of gameplay

Not really into platformers all that much but this game is really good like even today even though its old and the first one.

Game runs surprisingly well even on a gtx480 and looks great at 1080p. Sure i don't use anti-aliasing but i dont like it when the scenes in motion and causes the blurry ness but yet im still getting 60+fps most of the time if not all the time

You play as 3 dudes, one is an archer who uses bow and has grapple, one is a swords man who has shield, one is a wizard who can conjour boxes. Using these 3 people properly will help you advance through the game. The challenges aren't all that difficult but they are difficult enough to make it challenging and rewarding. If in doubt most of the times your going right on the screen. Sometimes you'll back track to go down a hole then go right or you'll climb up etc. But the challenges with the way its designed is nicely done.

Yes i recommend, i also recommend trine 2. They are the best ones, Trine 3 is good but there isn't enough in the game imo. These two are the real gems.

It looks gorgeous too even by todays standard.

It also has multiplayer and co-op is a blast. You can even use tunngle to run through there which is usually where your most likely to find another player considering nobody really plays it anymore.
