Wow this is bad. Almost impressivly so. Sure, It was probably easy to make things like the art bland and the music painfully generic, but in other areas it seems like there was some real effort to make this properly terrible.

A camera angle which makes it difficult to place where your ship is relative to bullets, that's some effort right there. Ship movement which seems oddly disconnected from controller input, hit boxes that float some distance away from the actual target, sound effects that scrape against your will to live. This crap doesn't make itself y'know.

Quick review coming from a shmup lover.

The Good :
- the game does't look too bad. By today's standards, it doesn't look too good either, but I wouldn't mind if it played ok.
- Music sounds good, but...

The Bad :
- Controls are rigid. Don't even try to play with an XBOX360 controller...
- Patterns are repetitive.
- I have a big feeling problem with this game. Can't feel the power of the weapons. Can't feel when I'm hit. This is probably because the sound in the game is not very well balanced.
- ... the sounds FX are weak. Can't hear any explosion. Shot sounds are flat and weak.
- Music sounds totally inappropriate. It's good, but it feels like it's the music from another game...

Definitely not worse the full price.

Crashed when I tried to put it into 1080p mode. Overall the gameplay is a bit bland. The levels feel like they stretch on for a long period of time and the bullets are flying around so fast you will get hit no matter what. This game could learn a lot more from Ikaruga or Raiden, as those a both much more solid games than this. Overall I'd stay look to the other vert-scrolling shooters as this one is lacking polish.

Mediocre shoot em up with few and not particularly useful powerups. The music is horrible and you can't turn it off even if you set the music volume at the lowest, so you have no choice but to listen it while playing until it stops on its own sometime before the first boss, while the voice over keeps repeating the same things over and over again and you'll soon get tired of it.

Can't remember where did I get this - bundles?

Almost instantlly installed this just seeing a 3D shmup is kind of rare and worth taking a look. The first thing that pretty much disappoints me was the video setting - no 16:9 options at all, default setting is 1024*768 or so that stretches so wide I can barely read the words. After finished with the video settings I started a game with only 60% of my screen used.

Gameplay is more terrible than I can imagine. Poor graphics is still acceptable, but this game fails to deliver any tension, you will have absolutly no feeling of accomplishment - dodging bullets is way too easy and provides no challenge at all, you wound't feel that you are swift or keeping up your precision to survive. Battles before the boss are so bored you will start to ponder how long it will take. Finally the boss battle, it is just another X minutes you can't stop thinking "when will this boring $*** end"? Terrible thing for shump games that requires you to concentrate.

I forgot to mention - poor SFX and BGM, any random music will sound more relevalant to the scene than the BGM.
Definitively not worth $9.99, not even $0.99. I don't think the team can do better with 2D, it is more about gameplay than graphics.

Wonky interface. Little to no variety in enemies, map after map. Upgrades in ship appear to have no effect on power. Overall a poor game

I was hoping for this to be a port or spiritual successor to Raptor: Call of the Shadows. At best, this game is just another vertical-scroll shmup that could-have, should-have, but didn't. At worst, this game is the deformed afterthought of something great, standing as a grim testament to game quality sacrificed at the altar of publishing dates and delivery deadlines.

The graphics are unpolished and the game UI/menus are painfully slow, with unusable tooltips. The gameplay is monotonous and uninteresting and collision detection is indiscernible. Bullet hell generates notable in-game lag even on a new computer from 2014. Power-ups seem to be ineffective, and replay value is nil.

In summary: Just go play Raptor. You're welcome.

Played 11 minutes with this game so far. I want it back. I expected to have an old-school shooter but didn't expect to have such technical execution and I don't mean it in a good way. A strange thing I really didn't expect was that this game's graphical engine is so badly optimized that I experienced stuttering, laggy controls and pretty low framerate and this ruined my game experience in no time.

If you want to play a great shooter, check out Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender instead.

Edit: Played a little more and here are some notes:
* You cannot save. Once you quit you need to start from Mission 1 again.
* The menu mouse controls are awful. You'd think that you clicked on something while you haven't.
* When there are a certain amount of enemies on the screen I still get a large framerate drop when I have shadows enabled. Even with a Radeon R9 270X! Oh c'mon!

this game is just another bland shootemup. it also keeps crashing.

i mean sure it has upgrades, but the weapons are pretty basic, the same kind you would find in a free flash game. the graphics are also of free flash game level.

I really thought this was going to be awesome. blowing stuff up old skool style.... No.
This how NOT to do a SHMUP. Boring. BOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNG!
There are no interesting mechanics at all whatsoever.
Get Atebreed or Ether Vapor instead of this.

Background: Purchased as part of a Bundle Stars Bundle.

Impressions:
Wow.. it's a quick download and a quick deletion. I played up to the first boss and then quit out.

Basically it's a bullet-hell game like '1942' with futuristic 3D ships and a horribly restricted field of view.

It's something you've seen a million times before and does nothing to improve on the formula. The shooting just requires you hold down 2 fire buttons and let them auto fire as you try to dodge the incoming while nabbing the upgrades as they drop down.

The Good:
*Looks pretty decent.
*Controls work well.
*Sound is ok.

The Bad:
*Lack of impact and satisfying enemy destruction.
*Field of view is too close in a tight downward angle.
*Boring enemy attack patterns.
*Cheap enemy tactics, attack from behind, really suck.
*Weapon pickups have no discernible impact on your killing power.
*Just holding down the 2 fire buttons and moving is not fun.

Recommended for:
Fans looking for an updated '1942' type game.. but even then it's a hard sell.

Conclusion.
2/10. Really weak all round and lacking anything original to keep you interested.

This game is mediocre at best. The menu selection is just awful, especially for the upgrades, it's not clear what each upgrade of your guns, rockets, power, shields can do, no idea what each gun is, everything is trial and error. Even so, it starts with such a fury and speed, the bosses are almost unbeatable, and it feels like all of the time someone's attacking you from behind or just trying collide with you. This game feels like nightmare even if you selected easy.

My advice: This genre is best portrayed in the old "Raptor: Call of the Shadows" game. This game should have been influenced more from that.

I was expecting modern version of the classic shooter Raiden sadly this game does not deliver.
*Extremly dull and boring until you get to the boss
*very limited weapon. 3 weapons? 2 bombs? You can NOT power up during the missions.
*♥♥♥♥ty weapons. still ♥♥♥♥ after upgraded

Only fun I had in this game is posting highscore using dirty word.

Don't remember how I got this game probably from a bundle
I hope no one paid $9.99 for this
