“…hugely satisfying, especially for gamers that enjoy sniping in first-person shooters.”
–IGN.com Editorial
“In game terms, stealth is a big part of Sniper's challenge. Because many of the missions take place in the Amazon jungle, there will often be plenty of thick vegetation to hide in.”
– Gamespot.com
“I can see appeal to both ways of playing Sniper: one for its increased sense of satisfaction for hitting the shot -- complete with bullet chase cam to the perfect strike; the other for its simple pleasure of hitting a steady stream of headshots.”
– ShackNews.com Editorial
“The great thing about Sniper: Ghost Warrior is that the “vision cone” of the game is insanely huge, so even though you might be hundreds of feet away from an enemy, they are more than capable of seeing you through a crack in a fence, or from across a canyon. It's a weird little element of the game that I found to be very impressive, something that was oddly realistic.”

About This Game

When the democratic government of Isla Trueno is overthrown, an aggressive and hostile military command rises to power. A highly trained special ops unit is sent in to help the rebels accomplish objectives that only a sniper can handle. In addition to intense sniper missions, players will also take part in a variety of assault scenarios where their prowess with weapons will be a huge help to the undermanned rebels. Sniper: Ghost Warrior seeks to challenge players in new ways so that the game is both demanding and entertaining.
Developed by City Interactive’s dedicated next-gen games studio, Sniper: Ghost Warrior delivers an impressive visual and technological gaming experience and features a realistic ballistics system that measures bullet trajectory, bullet drop and environmental effects such as wind, fog & rain. Encompassing a wide array of single and multiplayer levels, players will encounter a variety of challenging terrain. Players take on the role of a Ghost Warrior, an elite sniper in a highly trained special ops unit, whose unique skills in the art of stalking, target detection, surveillance and shooting accuracy will determine mission success. Covert missions force players to operate undetected as they attempt to eliminate hostile enemies one head shot at a time.

Lets make first things first: This game isn't so bad at all, if you have no expectations.
If you really want a good sniper game, go one with Sniper Elite V2 and the following ones.

However, if you play through the levels it feels like this game can't decide what it wants to be. A stealthy sniper game - like you would expect from the name? A common military FPS shooter? In the end, nothing of this feels right as it should.

In the stealth missions it's hard to stay undetected. Even if you really try - the so-called KI spots you 10km far away, they raise the alarm immediately and you don't have a chance to turn it off. You shoot with a silenced weapon? Everyone else in a distance about 20m seems to be aware of that shot.

Nevertheless, in the levels you play the opposite side you just try to go in like Rambo. The recoil of the assault rifle is rediculous. I couldn't get a clear shot with it and mostly died because my character seems to be the only target for the enemy while two of your KI-friends stands around and shoot everything that moves. That makes it nearly impossible to play it on hard (for the achievements).
I don't mind neither the linearity of this game nor the invisible walls. But the controlls and the gameplay itselfs are so bad that I didn't mind to play forward anymore.

You can get it very cheap out of a bundle? Feel free to buy it, but don't pay the whole price for it. It's not worth it.

If you want play real sniper games buy Sniper Elite series you wont regret there
but here however you will regret
well let see game is called Ghost warior, hmm first thing come to my mind is silent killer, so you shot and kill a guy from distance and you checked before if anyone would see a body and you think noone will? wrong thinking a guy will hear a shot even if you using a silencer, they have special ears you know, you are in prone position 2km away they will see you without scope hmm why? they have eagle eyes, Im not sure if any of levels is actually can be done in stealth and by that I mean if you can kill anyone and noone will hear it
however save your money for Sniper Elite if you want a real sniping game

First few missions were enjoyable as a sniper and having to find and use concealment and clear the areas. Then came the run and gun oil rig and breaking through some areas with a weapon that is useless. For some unknown reason you are not allowed to have your sniper rifle in these areas. As others have pointed out there are arbitrary walls and a narrow area to work in. You can not go under some of the nets or over some fences for some silly reason. In the beginning of the Alliance to save Rod my two comrades stuck in place standing in the first courtyard in front of the first building. I never did find the Dag sniper rifle anywhere.

Even with the small area to work in being a sniper is fun but the run and gun stuff should have been left our or let us have a decent rifle and the option to use our sniper rifle.

As others have pointed out the KI is ridiculous. They can spot and shot you from miles away with one shot but you can empty a clip into one and he still fires at you. They must have superaccurate automatic weapons unlike the piece of junk you have to run and gun with.

At least is allows you to save instead of having a brain dead checkpoint system so you don't loose a lot of time if you have to reload - unlike Ghost Warrior 2.

I'm on the fence. Parts are fun but I can't recommend it unless it's on sale real cheap.

The game is definitely not recommended for the following reasons
  - The game is buggy
  - AI uses Aimbot + Wallhack up too unbearable form
  - AI has more precise weapons over unlimited distances (kills you with a heavy machine gun across the map)
  - Allied troops (AI) are absolutely useless. Not killing enemies and in 90% enemy totally ignoring them
  - Hard difficulty is a joke because of the previously mentioned problems
  - The story is common
  - Possibilities movement are ridiculous (not climb the fence, jumping useless)
  - Low animations and fight options are low
  - Multiplayer plays about 20 people and feels like it's not finished

CZECH:
Hru rozhodně nedoporučuji a to z následujících důvodů
- Animace průměrné a možnosti souboje značně osekané
- Multiplayer hraje asi 20 lidí a působí nedodělaně
