“…hugely satisfying, especially for gamers that enjoy sniping in first-person shooters.”
–IGN.com Editorial
“In game terms, stealth is a big part of Sniper's challenge. Because many of the missions take place in the Amazon jungle, there will often be plenty of thick vegetation to hide in.”
– Gamespot.com
“I can see appeal to both ways of playing Sniper: one for its increased sense of satisfaction for hitting the shot -- complete with bullet chase cam to the perfect strike; the other for its simple pleasure of hitting a steady stream of headshots.”
– ShackNews.com Editorial
“The great thing about Sniper: Ghost Warrior is that the “vision cone” of the game is insanely huge, so even though you might be hundreds of feet away from an enemy, they are more than capable of seeing you through a crack in a fence, or from across a canyon. It's a weird little element of the game that I found to be very impressive, something that was oddly realistic.”

About This Game

When the democratic government of Isla Trueno is overthrown, an aggressive and hostile military command rises to power. A highly trained special ops unit is sent in to help the rebels accomplish objectives that only a sniper can handle. In addition to intense sniper missions, players will also take part in a variety of assault scenarios where their prowess with weapons will be a huge help to the undermanned rebels. Sniper: Ghost Warrior seeks to challenge players in new ways so that the game is both demanding and entertaining.
Developed by City Interactive’s dedicated next-gen games studio, Sniper: Ghost Warrior delivers an impressive visual and technological gaming experience and features a realistic ballistics system that measures bullet trajectory, bullet drop and environmental effects such as wind, fog & rain. Encompassing a wide array of single and multiplayer levels, players will encounter a variety of challenging terrain. Players take on the role of a Ghost Warrior, an elite sniper in a highly trained special ops unit, whose unique skills in the art of stalking, target detection, surveillance and shooting accuracy will determine mission success. Covert missions force players to operate undetected as they attempt to eliminate hostile enemies one head shot at a time.

Key Features:

  • The most realistic sniping experience in a video game ever, right down to managing your breathing for increased accuracy of sniper shots.
  • Enjoy a fully realistic ballistic system that accounts for bullet trajectory, including bullet drop and environmental effects such as wind, fog & rain.
  • Pull off the perfect headshot and watch your bullet strike the enemy with pin-point accuracy in Bullet Cam mode.
  • 4 types of sniping rifles: AS50, MSG90, SR25 & SVD Dragunov

Don't even bother. Enemies spot you half a kilometre away, stealth isn't even working properli, suppressors don't work, grappling hook or whatever it is denies the laws of physics and the story is ♥♥♥♥.
Do. Not. Buy.
(unless you're paid a lot to do it)

In 09 I was selected to go to sniper school down in Benning, and I have to say this was by far the most realistic depiction of what a modern sniper goes through on a day to day basis.

Poop on this game if it's going to glitch up and not allow any progress at all. I figured something was wrong when the opening movie was upside down... Otherwise there may have been a good game but this game needs a fix. Game seems to be riddled with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I love sniper games and have every one that I have been able to find and while this is not the worst that I have played, it is no where near the best either. It looks pretty good, but the monotonous voice acting of the sniper is annoying. Is he not the same guy that voiced the boring lead in Alpha Protocol? And as for the enemy AI, don't get me started! I have a sniper rifle, they have standard issue assault rifles, yet if I twitch they can spot and shoot me with unerring accuracy from 500 metres away. Not to mention the fact that they appear out of nowhere, without warning in a spot that was empty only a second previously!
That said, I have just finished my third playthrough and, despite the games many flaws,(including my reward for completing it all being just ;THE END') there is still a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from whacking the bad guys from far away and following your bullet to target in slow motion.
Would I recommend it? Cheap in a sale, why not? It's better and prettier than the original Sniper Elite anyway :)

This game is alright if you can get it cheap but anymore than 5 pounds i wouldent bother nothing to special. Very good bullet cam animation and Good voice acting. The parts that let it down was the game was based around sniping but they put missions in the game where you had to do assualts on compounds etc with machine guns and the recoil was disgusting. The story has a good length to it but at times gets a bit repetive and almost to the point where you want to fall asleep and find yourself doing the same thing over and over again. The enviroments are pretty much the same in every level you are in the jungle taking out drug cartels and other mercenaries.

6/10

Graphics: 6.5/10
Sound: 4/10
Gameplay: 4/10

Score: 4.87/10
(Weighted average, G:3.5, S:1.5, GP:5)

A mediocre shooter. Visually impressive in some ways, but there are many visual glitches in others. Story line is underwhelming. Sound bytes often get reused. Gameplay is fairly repetitive. The AI is ridiculously omniscient. Overall seems to follow Call of Duty in style, but ultimately cannot compete with standard shooters of today. Disappointing.

This game is a piece of ♥♥♥♥! let me tell you how it is:
I have completed act one and i don't realy want to play annymore it is hell..... BROKEN AI(with aimbot) and a ♥♥♥♥ ton of graphic,AI,micanical and weapon BUGS. The story is a rip of of MW2 but here there is no story. The sneak system is just walkng nothing else and the shooting gallery parts(that should not even be in this kind of game. Are so biggy that you will die 20.000 times over bicous of an BUG.
1/10 A PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥!

This was my first game on Steam, and was expecting a better game than I had experienced, so I had finally decided to write a review after having it for nearly three years.

-Graphics
While many may like the graphics, I think that most of the foliage was unecessary, even for a jungle. I had to go turn my settings all the way to low, and still got barely any FPS.
-Sniping
The sniping is fine and all, but if only they could make that tiny red dot where your bullet goes a bit brighter so you can actually see it.
-AI pathing
While playing the tutorial, several of the AI decided to walk into posts and trees.

Other than that, it's a fine game, although it's not a game I'd like. I'd rate it about a 6.5 or possibly a 7 out of 10.
