What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows us to work with the community to make Damnation City of Death into what our fans want. The Game has already been in a playable state as some fans have already been playing the game. We want to develop the game with the whole community and see what the fans make of the game as we add new features and get near completion. Early Access also gives us more funding, which allows us to add more features to the game what we otherwise couldn't be adding to the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release in 2016. We will work hard with our small team to reach this goal.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Damnation City of Death features will be refined. We will add new features and refine the old ones with the community's feedback. Including at least these:

NPCS - We want to bring them more life and give them a bigger role in the game.

Game modes - Survival has been our main target as it includes the core gameplay of the game and we will continue to develop it to have a long lasting interesting gameplay. Missions will be part of the survival mode and not a separate game mode.
Enemies - We will add more actions to bring more variety, when encountering with them. It is very important to us that our players enjoy fighting them and that they provide a good challenge.

Crafting - Currently it works nicely, but we will add more depth into it.

Stealth - This part of the game has been just added and we hope we can improve it with the community to be a viable play style.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game is strong. The game can already be played for hours with friends without game breaking bugs. Some bugs and missing features still remain in the early access version, which we will try to nail down before 1.0 version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of Damnation City of Death will increase after launch without going into specifics.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is the heart of the game and will offer us the required feedback on the game features and balance. Hardware performance of our players can be improved as we get information from the community, which would otherwise be really hard to nail on the scale of our team. We have already taken good feedback from our early adopters, but we would like to bring this to the next level with the whole community as we get closer to the release.”

First off, the game is dead at the start.

When I logged on (yes you got to make an account, no email required though), it was during peak internet traffic hours (6PM PST/9PM EST) and no one was on.

I made a server, and tried out the survival mode. I ran around for 10 minutes, gatering supplies. I then killed zombies for another 10 minutes, got a bugged achievement telling me I killed 1000 zombies (wtf?) and then got killed by an NPC because the aiming and movement speed of your character is really bad.

I did not try the other modes since they seem to be focused on co-op; which is impossible to do on a dead game.

Honestly this feels like an early prototype of H1Z1/DayZ/Infestation: Survivor Stories and it does a poor job trying to distinguish itself from those games.

I would avoid this if I were you.

Well, it seems very poor right now. Unoptimised assets, poor controls, lack of servers and no players.

I would not recommend this right now.

I know its early in the life of this game but tbh its low end graphicaly , mostly in the dark , baddies are not bad and its all seems a tad unmade.. saying that in the uture the gameplay might win it some players if improved .. no one really online and if you make your own server your friends cant connect unless you open certain ports. will re review later in its life .

WTF. Is this is a joke? Run around aimlessly in an empty city made up completely empty buildings with graphics that would have been considered subpar in 1995. That's some "action packed fight for survival!"

This is an Early Access review. Once the game is finished and released I'll rewrite this review.

I really hate giving any game a bad review. I feel bad for the developers of these games. Most of them put a lot of time and effort into making a game they believe in. However, this game, I can't recommend.

If you're looking for multiplayer, this isn't the game for you. No one plays it.
The graphics are just horrible.
The monsters are horrible.
The enviroment is sad. It just looks like a flat map they added the same set of buildings to. All the floors look the same and have no detail to them. Hardly anything inside of them.
I could go on, but I don't want to.
The game just isn't fun to play. The only reason I own it is because I got it in a bundle.

It's obvious what was going on in the dev's mind...
This is pretty much the cheap-♥♥♥, broken, low quality garbage version of DayZ/Survival type genre games with Zombie Titans[which is absurd].

Words from Developer

seems the game has started getting updates/patches...won't re-play it until it reaches ver. 1.0 though

The +
You Got A Game Approved ,-,
-If you start bleeding/get injured, zombies are more likely to hoard towards you.
-Realistic Survival Counters[Food, Water, Heat]

The -
-I have the game on Ultra and it looks nothing like the store page image of the game.
-No one plays it.
-Items are too sparse and too little in variety.
-i'm losing health for no reason[Gas Clouds, what the flying ♥♥♥♥?]
-Titan Zombies enough said about that[just...remove them from the game]
-Worthless buildings where nothing exist in them[no cabinets, furniture, ect ]
-a church with a ladder that goes to the roof[in the middle of the church] where guess what, there's nothing after spending like 30 seconds climbing that ladder, ect, ect, the list goes on..
-As you can ascertain by now from everyone's review...stay well away from this game.

Game Modes
20minutes to perform set objectives on which you have no idea where they are.
Impossible to do w/o prior knowledge of location of objective, what to do, ect that isn't provided by the game. Maybe a map would help?

Giant Alien:
Where's the alien and why aren't we starting w/ guns if we're killing a giant alien?

You die in the end.
No Point.

Unless there's some drastic changes - it's not recommended to buy the game.

Honestly, if you're going to start from a crashed, "ARMY/Military," Helicopter wouldn't you start with a gun from the beginning?

I most be be honest here.
First time i played the game it sucked so mush ♥♥♥ that i was glad i got it for free.
they didn´t update the game which made me really mad.
you weren't able to play online.... you couldn't find zambies... you where not able to craft.

after 1 year or so they Startet to update The game, but it was still so crap that i lmao. the game is dead i tought.

they updated it more and more and now you can play online, craft stuff, kill zombies, have fun with friends, find loot.
far from the best game ever but well ♥♥♥♥ing done guys, you came from nothing to being a little more fun. if you keep this up the game will be worth the money, but at the moment dont give more than 0.99 euro- 2 euro for this game! peace

Oh god, that was the most horrible 6 minutes of my life.
Ever play Second Life? I used to plat it a TON.
Damnation City of Death is like a horrible (♥♥♥♥ING HORRIBLE) sim in Second Life.
This was garbage and it made me cry.
I am crying, that's how horrible this game is.
Literally crying.
So glad I didn't pay for this.
