About This Content

Aethera. This vast and dense nebula spans almost half of Porphyria. The sheer number of powerful anomalies and highly erratic deadly discharges caused by the strange nebula makes this area almost impossible to traverse. Several years ago, NeoPhysics scientists investigated the region and established a research facility in an abandoned Nexus installation called Kepler Station. Immediately after NeoPhysics started their work in Aethera, all hell broke loose. A series of rift detonations shook Aethera and the number of anomalies multiplied exponentially. Nexus officially denied any connection to the research taking place on Kepler and withdrew all personnel from Porphyria. The destiny of Kepler Station isn't clear, even to this day. With the exception of the so-called Ghosts, and rare, but audacious traders, no one travels through Aethera any more. Standard shields are simply not strong enough to withstand the violent disturbances. However, recent reports have surfaced, indicating that Kepler Station is still operational. Moreover, rumors suggest that the NeoPhysics team have developed some amazing technology during their long isolation in the nebula. More than a few expeditions were sent into Aethera to verify this, but none came back...

Just amazing! Giving us the free content update and then optional DLC for people who want to buy it, I'm speechless.

These devs are even giving consolation free content for people who don't or can't buy DLC. But it's worth every penny. I expected about 10$ DLC, but what I got was half the price, double the content DLC. New ships, new side missions, new storyline, new weapons, stations, woow!

Highly recommended even for a double price but for 5$ this is a no brainer if you like Starpoint Gemini 2! And while you decide, I'm going to uncover the rest of the Secrets of Aethera. ;-)

Starpoint Gemini 2: Secrets of Aethera just adds more great content to an already great game. Without spoiling to much for existing and new players all I can say is LGM have once again gone out of their way to bring a DLC that is very worthwhile adding grabbing.

Worth the money? Yes! 4 new ships, 3 ship classes, campagin storyline, many new missions, global event, you name it. I would gladly pay double for this DLC but more important, I would like other devs to see what a DLC should look like.

As far as DLCs go, this one is a bloody winner! If you like SPG2 game, you won't regret a cent paid for this DLC.

Quite a nice addition for only $5. It came just one day after a major content update and adds new ships, stations, regions and more! Well worth it in my opinion.

I was reading some SPG2 reviews and especially negative ones. They are fun to read. There are so many whiners who have like 1000 hours on Call of Duty yet they decided they will say that SPG2 is boring. Of course, none of them have more than 2 hours in game. What they don't understand is that SPG2 is not boring, it's their lack of imagination that makes them frustrated over everything.

This DLC is the bright example that should come as a slap in the face to many other money milking devs. While many games will charge you 5€ for a new outfit and one new weapons, these developers gave us so much to do in DLC that I'm afraid for my tan, since I won't be seeing the sun anytime soon.

Aethera campaign alone is worth 5€. Just buy it.

I can just say that I have never, I repeat NEVER seen DLC as full of content as this one! Devs have done an excellent job on this one and I can recommend it, especially at this price. You will not regret it.

One thing that people might not have noticed is that regardless of DLC yesterday, we got a big free of charge update that is available to all players, even if you have not bought DLC. Talking about commitment and fairness.

Tell me your secrets developers! How do you make one of the best DLCs I've ever seen, full of new features and content, sell it for almost nothing and still continue to surprise us with every new update and every new post on the forums?

Can I recommend it? Of course! If you have a base game, do not think about not buying this. If you don't have the base game, buy it because it's worth every penny!

I'm sitting here, thinking what to write about this fantastic experience called SPG2. I'm not talking just about the base game, I'm talking about this DLC too.

I mean, just the features they offered are beyond amazing for a 5$ DLC:

* Completely new series of storyline quests
* Modify a brand new special weapon system to best suit your destructive needs
* Outfit several new ships, available on Kepler Station, deep inside Aethera
* A new freelance mission is triggered by the Aethera experiments
* Gemini faces a new random global event: Ghost incursions
* Numerous new side missions are available to solve and to reap rewards
* New targets for Bounty Hunters beg to be hunted down

This is an amazing work and it shows how things are done right. Now I just need my favorite modders to update their Star Wars mods so I can get back to my Starwars Gemini universe, far, far away...

Thumbs up for being so awesome LGM!

DLCs are pretty easy to review. You just come here, press Not recommended, whine about a ripoff devs made and leave.
Secrets of Aethera are completely different story. I honestly expected that we will get side missions they promised, I expected 2 new ships and I expected 10€ price. Boy was I wrong!

For 5€ they gave us new storyline, those missions they promised, new station, 4 new ships, events, dear Lord! Sc*ew you devs, I already lose too much time on this bloody game!!!!

Just to be completely evil here, I will recommend it to everyone! Why should I be the only one suffering from SP♥♥♥♥ddiction?!

I first found out about SPG2 while I was playing Elite Beta and some Arena Commander in Star Citizen. I like those games but I was searching for something different, yet familiar. SPG2 is a miracle and this DLC is right beside it. I especially like the options that we are offered. I can play new DLC game, load my old freeroam save, load my campaign save, start from scratch. And the features in this DLC are confirmation that these dev team really listens to the community and implements stuff that we asked. My favorite part? Building my own weapon.

And this thing is really cheap when you see how much stuff they've put in there. Fantastic!

There is nothing to dislike about Secrets of Aethera. Intresting storyline, interesting side missions, new ways to interact with factions, the new feature where you can build your own weapon, Ghost Incursion are decent, but not perfect.

For the money, I would be statisfied with half of these features. If you like Starpoint Gemini 2, do not hesitate.

This "DLC" feels more like a traditional expansion when you consider what you are getting compared to the full game.
On the amount of new content alone v.s. the original game's price this should cost about double what it does.
This will quite possibly be the most worth it "DLC" you ever buy.
