Why Early Access?

“I really want player feedback. I'd love to hear from everyone even if they don't like something I've added or changed in the UI. Getting your feedback will help us improve the game and fix any remaining bugs :).

During this timeframe, we'll be adding in some previous features such as Replays, spiffying up the UI, and building out cross-platform versions for Mac OS X and Linux.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The Early Access period will be short--only a few months--to get the remaining bugs fixed and features added such as Challenge mode, Replays, Tutorial, Steam Achievements, Steam Trading Cards, and possibly others.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our full version will include re-adjusted charts, replays and friend replays, updated noteskins, and a much-improved UI, in-game instructions for new players on the main menu, brand new OS X and Linux builds, and DirectX 9 capabilities (over the old DX8.1).

We are also working on figuring out how to integrate our editor with Steam Workshop. We're going to use Early Access to determine if this will be feasible or not.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Steam's API has been integrated along with online leaderboards and the Steam Overlay. This is our bug-free version of Pulsen 1.0, ready for consumption. We'll be running a separate beta branch with new features and enhancements to be released in future versions!

As we get more and more features tested and bug-fixed, we'll move those into official releases and make them available to all who purchased the full game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently have no plans to change the price for release just yet. We might change this idea depending on the finalization of features and other game modes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
