About This Game

One Late Night: Deadline continues the story of One Late Night, a horror/mystery game where you play the role of an office worker caught in the middle of the paranormal activity that has broken out in a seemingly ordinary office building. Freely explore the 5 story office complex that houses several different companies. Look for clues around the offices, read newspapers about local events, hack your colleagues emails – anything that might tell you something related to the strange happenings.

You arrive at your work late in the night. The rain is pouring down and a storm is closing in fast. Everyone has gone home for the day a long time ago, but the lights in the lobby are still on as usual. As you enter the office complex through the main entrance, you immediately feel the emptiness and begin to go over in your head “what the hell you are doing here in the middle of the night?”, when you could be at home getting some well-deserved sleep. However, while your mind is clouded with the details of your precious deadline, you are unaware of lurking danger in the building and what has occurred during the night. Something has been set free; something that’s not from the world of the living. The shadowy and long hallways beckon you as you attempt to unravel the mystery that has befallen the unassuming offices. Has everyone really gone home, or is someone or something still here?

Facts

  • Objectives
The entire game revolves around completing objectives and other small tasks. These objectives may trigger at certain points in the game or by witnessing certain events. The objectives does not all have to be completed in a linear fashion, and some does not have to be completed at all.
  • Cellphone
You can use your cellphone as a light source in dark areas and shine in the direction you look. You do not have to go on a tedious battery hunt for the flashlight, but it will drain over time. The battery will replenish automatically over time after you put away the cellphone.
  • Parallel dimensions
One Late Night: Deadline brings you a parallel dimension where you might see things otherwise not visible to the naked eye. So, if things look bleak and you’ve lost your way, use your cellphone to tap into this mysterious second dimension and things will soon become clearer. But beware; you might see more than you wished for.
  • Computers
Along your way you will come across computers that can be manipulated. You can use these computers to gather clues and information by reading employee emails. However, some computers are locked and require you to use a password, but if you are stuck you can try to hack them. If you find a Hack disc it will help you immensely in the hacking process.
  • Drowsiness
When your eyes grow weary and you begin feeling tired, you can head for the nearest vending machine to replenish your energy. If you move around for too long without having a drink you will eventually collapse from exhaustion. Running will make you tired much faster. If you are lucky you might find Dexterity tablets that you can eat along the way and instantly restore your energy.
  • Doors
All security doors are unlocked using keycards. This is the lowest form of security in the building. Some doors also require a code. You start out with a default keycard that lets you in through some doors.
  • Save game
You can save the game progress by using the coffee machines located conveniently around the building.
  • A real world
All the environments are designed from a real-world perspective and based on a real office building for authenticity.
  • Your choice
You choose the outcome of the game by either completing the game in the quickest and simplest way or by taking the long route and digging deeper.
  • A full soundtrack
A full OST composed by the talented Pontus Malmquist, known for his outstanding music from the original One Late Night.

This game is very laggy on my HP 2000 PC. I spent $10 on this game. I have other games on my computer that run nice and smooth, but this is the only game I have that does not. This game is unplayable for me. When I walk forward, it takes 5 seconds for the game to do that. I wasted $10 on this laggy game. I would definitely like my money back.

Maybe the story is good, probably it's not. The game is not playable cause bugs, terrible hitboxes, fps and a lot more are horrible
Mostly the game seem to be a patchwork to show of an architectural design, cause this seem to be the only thing that was really worked out,
the furniture looks like it was stolen from an IKEA furnishing programm, no background exist, so it looks like this office building is right in nowhere.
if you use a very (very very) good pc u might be able to work around the fps problems, but then u have to deal with slow movement speed and will get lost in the building cause in the most cases you can find a way around locked doors through the fire escape
maybe u even get stuck in a room cause u are just not able to pick up the key on the floor.
graphic glitches between overlays and glass may be the smallest problem the game has.
the most horrible thing on this "Horror Game" is that i've paid money for it.

Black Curtain, what happened?

Honestly, I'm actually disappointed in you. One Late Night was amazing, I loved it, so when I heard they were making a sequel, I was really excited. Then one day I saw it had released and immediatly bought it.

But it wasn't what I expected.

Horrific frame rate, menus I couldn't close, unclear objectives, everything. I very rarely say this, but this game was bad. I tried to be optimistic, but the game is so broken I just couldn't deny the truth. This game would not, and could not, live up to the predecessors potential.

If you do read this, Black Curtain, I do have something good to say. The voice acting and story (as much of it as I could find) was great, so why did you focus on story only? This would have been better as a book, because books don't glitch out or skip load times into a level you already passed. Maybe if you remake the actual gameplay, so that it's functional, I would consider playing this game again, but for now, this is quite literally the worst game i've ever played. WORSE than Ride to Hell: Retrebution or Air Control, because those game are hilariously bad. This is just...

Depressingly bad. You screwed One Late Night up.

This game is so bad, I requested a refund. Terrible frame rate even on a GTX 980 TI, UI gets stuck on screen when hacking a computer, uninteresting plot, music stutter, horrible character animation, coffee machines do not make you, "untired," have to drink SODA from Vending machines to restore your tiredness... Don't buy this game.

You know what makes this game a true horror game? It leaves you nearly dead from how bored you'll get from playing it, I only got 10 minutes into it I think and i'm already thinking it might be more fun watching water boil in a pot then playing any more of this game.

Worst game performance I've seen in while. I can't even crack 30 FPS with the lowest graphics setting and all effects turned off, on a brand new GTX 980.

AVOID as long as the game isn't optimized.

This is a terrible game, not even Pre-Alpha quality, filled with so many bugs it was PAINFUL to play the first hour I did.

- Game graphical bugs and glitches so apperent, they could have walked up and hit you with a stick.
- Music cuts out alot.
- The Objectives are so vegue, good luck finding anything for them.
- Spent the first 30min trying to get the second Objective to clear, due to I hadnt found a nessisary Trigger that was not even remotely needed to start the next objective.
- The fatigue and loosing consiousness mechanic is broken, and so fast that you have little time to get to be able to get your fatigue back up before you have to start all over.

Over all, this game is no where near 15$, I wouldnt have tried to finish this game if it were FREE

If you reading this you either are contemplating buying this and looking for more info, or you're equally as likely someone who bought this game and is trying to figure out a fix for the absolutely abysmal performance.

My advice as someone who bought this title months ago is: DO. NOT. BUY. THIS.

There have been performance issues since the very beginning and not a single thing seems to have been done about it except constant "well it works on our pc's" and a single patch that noone who was complaining about issues seems to find did a damn thing. Dev responses have dropped to literally nothing on most. Oh but they will respond to anyone new asking how the game runs and then tell them that their have been no complaints after this first patch WHEN THE COMPLAINTS FROM BEFORE IT ARE STILL VALID AND HAVE YET TO BE FIXED.

If you already bought this game, I advise you to request a refund from steam. Do NOT give a developer who is this distant and clearly doesn't give a damn your time or your money. Anyone who has been complaining along with me for the few months, supposedly steam is giving refunds for older titles with special consideration. I suggest giving them a shot. I personally won't because even though I feel ripped off I still will accept the bad purchase I made.

Hopefully this stops people from being burned.

This game is broken. Whenever I try to hack a computer the screen glitches out and starts randomly going between the login screen and the hacking screen. Do not buy.

This game is terrible, frame rate drops everywhere, terrible DoF effect and killed me whilst trying to teach me about the parallel world, the scariest thing in this game is the human janitor who is meant to be your friend.

No...just no. The poor optimization, not-so-fluid animations, and the constant crashing made me quit the game five minutes in. When the developers decide to fix the game and make it playable, I'll be happy to revisit it. For now, it's most certainly not worth $15. Play the free game that came before this (One Late Night) on Desura instead.

http://www.desura.com/games/one-late-night

Edit: Gave the game another go after being informed of a patch. The crashing as stopped and the average FPS went from 20-30 to 30-40, so the game has improved some. I still find the animations to be a bit mechanical (not fluid or natural) and the headbobbing while running makes me extremely dizzy. Both Amnesia and Outlast have better graphics, clock in at $20, and provide 4-8 hours of gameplay, so I'll hold off on further judgement as far as worth is concerned until I can determine how long this game actually is.

Wow...I am so disappointed. This game is unplayable in its current state. I do not have a "low-range computer" yet I found the framerate so painful to look at that I quit the game within the first couple minutes. I really hope there is an update to fix this soon.
