In games that allow you to "play" as a god it's always entertaining to see how people worship you and how they are just living by themselves. Unfortunatelly, world is full of dangers: tsunamis, volcanos or just terrains that cannot be reached by your mortal servants. From Dust allows you to be a different kind of god: a god who helps people by changing their environment or destroys them by creating apocalyptic disasters.

This game allows you to play with water, earth and lava. You can shape the land, flood it or just recreate landform by catching some earth and drop it in a different place. I really liked the physics and whole look of the changes you can cause. They are reallistic and - I must say - look awesome, even if you are about to destroy your village. Your servants can also summon different powers called Breaths, in example causing mentioned before tornado or activate a volcano.

Unfortunatelly, with all its original features, the main disadvantage of this game is its length. Only 15-missions long campaign is not as spectacular as the game, but I can say that this amount is average. I saw shorter games, so definitely time needed to go through whole campaign is average (not great, but not bad as well).
I was relieved when I saw a custom play mode, which allowed me to play just as I like, being away from the main campaign. Shaping your own island is one of the things I always dreamed about.

In the end I'd like to say that if you like godmode games or just want to have fun in original way and cheer your eyes with beautiful graphic, then this game's definitely for you!

What the store page doesn't mention is that this game *requires* third-party DRM (Uplay) and that you create a Uplay account. They should also have mentioned that you'll likely be required to spend your time troubleshooting Uplay errors as a warm up to playing the game you paid for.

@ubisoft, we're paying you already for the content, please don't take the extra steps of screwing us out of as much money / information / freedom of choice as possible.

A great mix of Black and White mechanics and a bit of Minecraft creativity. On top of that a decent storyline that ties the level progression together.

Its quite simple why I am not recommending this. I can’t play it, thanks to U-play Brower you have to download, not even working my $9.99 purchase is now useless. Do not buy this game, you can’t even play it.

1/10 Purely for the fact that you need yet another account to play this game.

This is an argument that seems to go round in circles with the community from what I have seen, but the fact of the matter is that gamers want to play games, yet here we have something that blocks you from playing unless you install uPlay. I already have Steam, I for one dont need uPlay. But am forced to install out of necessity, not choice.

I realise this is not a review of the game and im sure the game is good, but the point is i cannot get to it without installing 3rd party rubbish to get to it. Until this changes i will not be changing my mind.

Do not buy this game. You can't play it unless you log into Uplay. Even for the single player, you need to login even to see it. Never again will I purchase a ubisoft game on pc.

From Dust has been repeatedly misidentified as a "God" game, which it is not. It is more accurately described as a terraforming puzzle game, and a very good one at that, managing the ideal puzzle game balance of simple, intuitive mechanics that are extended across a substantial breadth and depth of scenarios. It's one crippling drawback is the horrid, controller-developed control scheme, although this is manageable and somewhat forgivable.

As many great things as I have heard about this game i would love to give it a great review. That is if I were able to play it at all. My cumputer has a substantial amount more of all of operating system requirements needed. But the game will only run through Ubisoft's Uplay launcher, which has crashed everytime. I have downloaded this game 4 times now in an attempt to play it at least once and to no avail. So sorry for all those who want to try the game Ubisoft apparently doesn't want us to use the products we pay for.

I WISH I could play this game. But of course, Uplay locks me out of it. Their customer support is so abysmal YOU CAN'T EVEN LOG INTO THEIR SITE TO COMPLAIN TO THEM. DO NOT BUY THIS. You are HONEST TO GOD better off pirating this game. At the very least, you WILL ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO PLAY IT.
