Driver San Francisco is livin it's name. With a good story and good graphic even at the lowest settings!.
Well this game isn't for any 2005 ish computer or leptop but it manage to keep up with my 9 years old leptop.
And I'm getting 115 fps at the menu but sadly 15-20 fps. Sometimes in the trafic and or police chase its droping to 5-8 fps.
Still a good game with good graphic at the lowest setting. I rated this game 8/10. Keep up the good work :D

This game will simply not run, it will get to a menu with a code that i copy to clipboard, i will then press "play" and nothig will happen.
I have reinstalled it several times and checked in task manager to see if anything is happeing.

as far as the game is concerned i had it on xbox 360 a couple years back and loved it , that was my inspiration to buy it on steam , but it dosent work and i have passed my refund timer.

It pains me to say this, but I cannot recommend this game on PC. It's one of my absolute favorite games of all time, and I've sunk many hours into it on the Xbox 360 version; I can't name another game like it. The sensation of having the entire city at your disposal, taking down enemies by ramming buses into them, getting behind the wheel of a favorite car at the touch of a button, it's all unrivaled and absolutely amazing. It's a mix of just about every one of my favorite racing games all in one wonderfully cheesy 70's-esque package.

However, the PC version has given me far more trouble than it's worth. I successfully played through the story once, then switched it on and found all my progress was gone. My save file was also wiped. Turns out if Uplay can't connect and upload your cloud save whenever it is you shut the game off, it just uploads a blank file and eliminates all your progress. Okay, fine, I started keeping a backup. Then, on my second run, my Xbox One controller's vibration began just going full-tilt and the buttons unresponsive, forcing me to unplug it and close the game. This reoccured very, very often, and if your controller disconnects, it will not re-detect it, forcing you to close the game and restart every time.

Then the audio managed to blow out my headphones. And to add injury to insult, it deleted my save again, this time on the last chapter. This hurts me. I love, love, love this game, but in its current state, it is not workable. I want to recommend it, but only if you have the saintly patience to back up your savegames absolutely constantly and be ready to reboot the game over and over. (Deleting the intro videos helps on this front, at least.)

Unlike other users, I won't compare this to Grand Theft Auto or complain about it not working on a Mac. Instead, here's why you should consider this game despite the mixed reviews.

+The driving is pretty solid with a controller. It's a driving game, don't go using a KB+M.
+The SHIFT system is just plain badass. Losing a race? Just throw a bus at them.
+The story is very cliche, but hell it's fun to notice the gradual mentions.
+Some missions can be really difficult, but the only time I actually ended up mentally handicapped was when I forgot I could use SHIFT. So the difficulty curve is, so far, fair at 5 hours in.
+The game lasts about 9 hours, so it's got some meat to it without dragging on and on. There are a ton of stuff that could take you a solid 20 hours to do though, like stunts and dares.
+The cars look and sound bloody amazing. It's from 2011, but I had to make sure this game would run smoothly! Sure enough it does. Optimized well even for it's age.
+There are a few abilities you can unlock as you play through the game, and a few upgrades if you want to make things interesting.
+The garages are pretty neat, giving you the option to buy multiple garages to increase your income over time. You can buy new cars from lisenced manufacturers. Audi, Nissan, RUF, and Ford to name a few. Take your pick.
+The music is definitely good. Fitting given the atmosphere.

-Barriers. Trying to pass through them is fine and won't actually do any real harm, but you're locked out of areas of the city until you progress. Only takes a couple hours though, but it's still not a good thing.
-The story is locked behind a number of side missions most of the time, even though this is explained in the story early on it still feels like a poor development choice.

Overall I'd say it's a solid choice if you're a Wheelman like Tanner, but don't forget this is a DRIVING game. You won't be hopping out of your car any time soon. Not that it's a bad thing. Being behind the wheel is a much better place anyway.

People look at me like I'm crazy when they ask me what my favourite driving game is, and I say Driver: San Francisco. "Never heard of it", they tell me, "What's it about?". Well, it's a story-based driving game. "Intriguing", they say, "and you're playing as a criminal, I take it?". No, in fact you're a detective.

A detective in a coma. I know, I know, it's serious.

The most ignorant people usually walk away at this point, and never listen to my opinions again. Or are those the ones who stay to hear more? I can never tell. Anyway, there's a filtration.

Here's the great thing about Detective In A Coma: he can fly out of his own body into that of another driver, and take control of their car. What you do with it is up to you, and at the touch of a button you can fly back into your own car. You aren't restricted to the cars you can see, either; you can fly right up into the clouds and zoom out until the world is a virtual map, and choose cars to enter from the entire game world, zooming seamlessly down into the gameplay again. Yes, you've seen that in GTA V recently, but don't forget this game came out in 2011. And there are other abilities you'll gain later that I won't spoil now, but trust me - something FANTASTIC happens before the game's end, and you will never see anything like it in any driving game ever again.

Yes, this game is trashy and silly, but it's intentionally so. It's a spirited, madcap take on decades of buddy action movies. You should buy it. Maybe it'll become your favourite driving game too.

This Review is more than likely how to get the game working from Uplay crashes. The Uplay downloading from steam is outdated, do not open the game after you finish downloading it. Do not think for once it is like Origin/EA Game giving away your CD Key to another friend because it will not work like that.

1. After downloading on steam, do not launch game!!

a. If you did install Uplay from Steam, uninstall it.

2. Download the latest Uplay from the original website.

https://uplay.ubi.com/#!/en-US/

3. Launch the game from steam. Use the CD key on steam and activate it on your Uplay account.

Now you can launch the game from steam all you want.

This game works on Windows 8 completely fine.

Uplay has two singleplayer challenge content you can grab after gaining Uplay points.

"Tanners Day Off" and "San Franscico Challenge"

These challenges help your story mission by winning points to buy vehicles. They are worth grabbing. The other two is on your own. Not many people play multiplayer, so I suggest not to grab "SRT8 Police Car" as it is for multiplayer only.

Initiate Uplay Achievement -> Reach Multiplayer Rank 5

Tips: Doing first Tutorial mission for multiplayer will get you from Rank 0 to Rank 1.

This achievement you either have to play with a friend or play online with 1 other person. Getting to level 5 is very easy and within an hour or two. Multiplayer content doesn't cross over to singleplayer. So those who bought this game for single player don't have to worry other than this achievement for 20 Uplay point to unlock contents.

The actual review. This is a must grab for racing fans. It is a free roam driving game rather than a GTA like game. You cannot get out of your car. There are many racing in this game with a lot of Hot Pursuit chases. If you are a fan of "Need For Speed Hot Pursuit", you'll love this game. This game is what "Hot Pursuit" should have been like with a story mode.

now that was a surprise ...
I think these first few hours were one of the best I've had in a game.
It was allready worth the price.
To elaborate:
- Extremely well guided at the beginning but you never feel forced. One of the few 'tutorials' ever that aren`t annoying
- I rolled my eyes at the first 2-3 'shifts' but it is actually totally forgivable and extremely well executed. It also adds to the very streamlined experience that seems to focus on the fun parts of a 'Driver' game. It also allows nice variety of perspectives and quests.
- I got a similar feeling from it like I had with the first driver game. Something that never happened again since then. Now, very little time into the game I already failed at a few challenges a couple of times like it did so often with the original one. However, it is not frustrating since you know what your mistakes were and you improve.

I decided to write the review already because I feel that I have gotten enough for my money in such short amount of time. I will play further of course but probably not update, since noby will give a ♥♥♥♥ about a review of an old game :D
Get it if you like nice driving games. I´m hard to impress in this genre. If you don´t usually play these, get it during a sale and give it a shot. cheers!

> Reversed a tow truck into a police car
> Sirens went on until it realised resistance was futile
> Crashed my tow truck into another police car
> Four cops chasing me
> The involuntarily towed police car being blissfully unaware
> Escapes the police by driving at 85 mph against traffic
> Disconnects police car
> Police car drives happily away as if nothing happened
> Everything forgiven, my friend

10/10, would tow again

This is a brilliant driving game & a great storyline game, I play the first Driver series since I was like 5 yrs old, I love this game so much.. Drive San Francisco is an excellent production values and an enormous fun factor. The city, music, cars and story create a 'Starsky and Hutch' style. Humor in various dialogues is genuinely funny. Driving/shifting mechanics are perfect. The handling, feel, response, and sound of each vehicle feels very right. Using keyboard is a bit hard to turn just a little to the right or the left but if you're using the controller it's much better.

I've played Driver San Francisco on the Xbox 360 and PC (non-steam) for a very long time (and a long time back), and let me tell you: it's a brilliant game. The amount of shenanigans you can pull in free roam in single player alone is worth it alone, let alone the ♥♥♥♥ you can pull in multiplayer with friends!

Of course, this is an old game and while I'm not sure if it sold really well, people are not playing it as much anymore (online I mean, at least). On the 360 you can still fin a few people but so far on the PC version, no one.

The story is good, the SHIFT mechanism works great, lots of cars, a really nice and comfortably large map, graphics are good, soundtrack is really nice.

Really, buy it if you're a fan of racing games or the Driver series, this is a title that won't disappoint!
