What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“So far BitMonster has been working on GRAV for about five months and we think it's time to get the community involved. We are super excited to get the community's input on the development of GRAV from here on out and Early Access is the perfect tool for it. The closer we work with the fans, the closer GRAV will be to the game everyone wants to play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until we (but more importantly, the community) feel the game is living up to its full potential.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More features, more stable, more optimized, more monsters, more buildings, more weapons, and of course more dancing! Basically, everything you see now but more of it along with many new features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We do internal playtests every day! Enough of the game is implemented that it's fun and rewarding. It's certainly far from done, but enough is there to start the journey. A huge swath of features are already implemented and every day more great stuff is put in!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the same price. Get in now to help shape the game!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to utilize great community tools like trello and let the community direct where they want development time spent. Additionally, we plan to have new builds of the game updated very frequently so players can actually experience the progress with BitMonster as the game is developed.”

GRAV One Universe Update Details

Hi Everyone,

The One Universe Update we’ve been teasing is on its way. In fact, we’re confident enough to say that you’ll be able to enjoy GRAV with anyone in the world next month! We hope you’re as excited about this update as we are. So much work has been put into this update and we really can’t wait to let you all enjoy it. If this is the first time you’ve heard of the upcoming update, please check out this post: GRAV One Universe Update

A quick recap:

All official servers will be linked, creating one official universe! This means you’ll be able to play with anyone in the world without having to create a new character for a different server.

Because of the technicalities with this update, we will be completely wiping servers. This means everyone will be starting fresh when the update launches. To help jumpstart the leveling up process, we will be holding double XP weekends for the first few weekends following the One Universe update.

What to Expect After Update

We have some more cool stuff we’ve been working on and will be ready to share more information about it after the upcoming update.

Until Next Time, BUILD EXPLORE DANCE SURVIVE

Big Update on The Way! Side Note: GRAV is Alive and Well

Hello Everyone!

It’s been a while since we’ve shared any news on what’s to come. For this, we apologize. However, this doesn’t mean we haven’t been working. In fact, we’ve been hard at work on some really awesome things and today, I’m finally able to share with you one of the more exciting things coming to GRAV.

In the near future, all official servers will be linked, resulting in one official universe! This means that astronauts from around the world will be able to play together.

This is something we’ve wanted to do for a while, but knew it would take time to complete. After the Reborn update, we decided that linking all servers into one universe was priority number one.

We want all of you to be able to enjoy GRAV together.

This update should make GRAV a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.

What’s Coming After This Awesome Update?

While this update is a really REALLY big deal, we understand that you all want more content to enjoy. We want you to know that we are working on it and will be sharing more news at a later date.

We are incredibly excited to enjoy the GRAV universe with all of you!

Until Next Time, BUILD EXPLORE DANCE SURVIVE

About This Game

GRAV is a sand box experience where you explore a multitude of planets, hunt strange alien creatures, build and defend outposts, craft weapons and armor, and attempt to survive against other players in a hostile environment.

We here at BitMonster has been working on GRAV for about 5 months and feel that getting the community involved earlier is vital to a great game. We plan to launch GRAV as Early Access and work closely with the community on how we evolve and move GRAV forward!

Note: these are features already in the game. They may be fleshed out more in the future, but they will be ready to rock from day 1

Endless Worlds - The planets of GRAV are procedurally generated from composite parts. This allows for a near infinite combination of biomes, alien sites, and dungeons.

Gorgeous Visuals - Genre re-defining visuals allow you to experience fear, excitement, and trepidation in a way never seen before.

Frenzied Combat - Compared to the zen-like calm of harvesting resources, combat is a wild ride which you can only hope to survive. Both Melee and Shooting are the tools of death in GRAV.

Player vs Player - Create alliances with other players, viciously kill them and take their belongings, or run from it all! It's up to you how you interact with your fellow players.

Play With Friends - GRAV is all about enjoying the experience with your friends. GRAV is client-server based so put up a server or join an official one!

Powerful Base Construction - Supporting a modular contextual room based construction system allows for building bases quickly. GRAV's building system can be used for creating an entire city, a quick base to fight off enemy players, or building an outpost deep in a dungeon to defend against the aggressive hordes.

Extensive Crafting - Anything you can harvest or kill has a chance to drop Crafting Materials. Building everything from the armor you wear, weapons you kill with, to the actual bases themselves comes from crafting.

Dynamic Environmental Events - GRAV employs a procedural system to create world events for players. A night could consist of blossoming night flowers, meteors raining down from the heavens, or even a horde of very angry alien wildlife trying to kill you and anything you have ever made.

Procedurally Generated Dungeons - The planets of GRAV are full of dungeons that are created specifically for that planet. Full of rare resources, dangerous foes, and environmental obstacles that provide a high-risk high-reward play area.

Hostile Environments - Alien planets have a combination of semi safe areas and just plain you-are-probably-going to die locations! The planets of GRAV are places where you must do whatever it takes to survive.

Roadmap to get an idea of what features are coming to GRAV:
https://trello.com/b/MJriPqM6/grav

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: 7 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz or Equivalent CPU
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 560 or Radeon HD 7790 or Equivalent card
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 5 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: The game is EARLY ACCESS and likes Memory. 4 GB will not work well for larger planets
    Recommended:
    • OS: 7 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel i5 2.5 GHz or Equivalent CPU
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon HD 7950 / R9 280 or Equivalent card
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 5 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: If you are planning to run a server and a client on the same machine we recommend 12-16 gigs of ram.

Grav. To simply put it. It is like no mans sky (Lovely colours and intresting planets) with a bit of rust.

PRO'S
1: It's very easy to get in and play the game
2; Exploreing is enchouraged as you get better gear from doing so
3: The game has very nice colours and a intresting world
4; There are multiple planets
5; The multiplay is rust but if all the servers were one.

CON'S
1: The game should let you get stuff easier
2: Low level legendary's should be easier to kill

CONCLUSION
In general this game is fun. But It's a equired taste to be honest

i've only played the game for just over 5 hours, 3 hours my first day and then 20-30 minutes every few months just to see if there's anything new and exciting...spoiler...there is nothing. I keep seeing early access games and i tell myself dont do it they never actually become good games. This game is a prime example, its dead and everyone wasted their time and money helping them.

It seems like development has grinded to a halt, but alas I am not a game developer, and One Universe is on the horizon. I am a little saddened by the state of the game and it's progress.

However, they are only asking $19.99 for this game, and I've put 45 hours into it. I've paid a lot more for a lot less game time with others.

This is the type of games that make me never want to invest in easy access titles. They promise a lot, and deliver... nothing. The development has more or less stopped completely and it's not even close to complete. 0/10.

GRAV: Graphics look Good, Music is Nice and Sounds are Pretty Good. I play it with some friend's cause I would get bored easy in the game. But it is a Fun game to run around in and explore the world's. It need's a lot of update's and maybe a story to go with it. I do recommend GRAV as long as you got some friend's to play with you. Now down to business GRAV is a 7 out of 10

First let me say that GRAV still has the potential to be one of the best survival games available. The crafting and combat system, as others have said, is quite possibly the best, though I'd like the ability to create/demolish single walls.

Endgame is making a drill platform in the best spot on the highest level High Planet before anyone else. There was good population in every server before the update which included the Drill platform. Also, on wipes, this isn't like other survival games, it's more like having your character in an MMO wiped. If they can't wipe the worlds without wiping characters then they shouldn't expect to keep their players, and they'll keep getting bad feedback which will continue to kill the sales. When the population was good, nobody was quitting due to vehicles falling through the map or invisible rocks, they laughed at it and learned where not to go.

Some suggestions would be; completely remove drill platforms and add the blueprints to mob drop tables, then make DG PvE based omni-elemental. The PvP was much, much, much better before DG. Also maybe add a sniper style weapon, similar to assault rifle but with better zoom and lower rate of fire; it could be a special Player Soul blueprint. Or add a function to increase zoom with mouse wheel. Could also add/change some weapons to be tuned more towards PvE or PvP, like a longer but slower and harder hitting melee weapon etc.

GRAV could be fairly labeled as a "grind-fest" the way it stands today, mostly due to endgame blueprints. Leveling happens at a fair rate. Also with this merge coming, the gap between new players and established players will never be filled because all of the experienced players will create their drill platforms in the best regions before anyone else, discouraging newer players, and people will quit because of it.

Also consider having new players start out with more equipment, such as a few more tier 1 pieces of equipment and a few stimpacks or something, just to make their first hour easier. I see new players leaving after a short time too frequently, usually it seems due to frustration.

The reason other survival games maintain population is because it doesn't take much for a new player to get on equal grounds as the established players. With the leveling and loot system in GRAV that gap is obviously and enjoyably larger, though the current system will eventually bring the majority of players to a frustrating wall where many don't have the time or conviction to overcome. I can't recommend this game until they remove drill platforms or create a better system for getting the DG blueprints from them like having all regions on all high planets give the best blueprints.

Good ol' GRAV,

It's a shame it really is, to see a game that you got a week after it appeared on Early Access, to literally be there since the beginning and to contribute to the games development be it via bug reports or suggestions, to see it dying and to see what seems like such disregard from the developers.

This game is pretty much dead, the last post by the developers was over the course of the steam summer sale in an attempt to keep what's left of it's playerbase playing. Not to mention people in the forums have been sayings that servers are shutting down, and the game not appearing in the store page search bar if you type 'GRAV'

The current state of this game isn't too good either as it's plagued with many annoying bugs such as your crafted vehicles falling through the maps (They're a massive grind to obtain) Character data being wiped off the face of the earth, entire bases dissapearing. Not to mention the awful balancing which the developers were trying to appease both audiences pandering mostly to the people who should be playing on PVE not PVP.

It's a massive shame, this game had tons of potential to be something great, and if the developers are still working on this but are choosing not divulge anything yet, it still does have potential, but for now this game is pretty much barren and I wouldn't bother buying it, but maybe checking up on it every few months if you're interest is still piqued.

Product received for free
Currently the game is dieing from lack of players. they come, they go. this poor game needs new players, or else it won't survive. My old review is below.

I got this game for free weekend, and loved it. Probably from MMO/RPG qidthdrawl, but aside from farming; the planets are well designed, and even the moon feels like (with some exceptions obv.) the moon. Then I bought the game and ket playing, and now rank 68 at the time of this edit. My complaints are that even without the active perks (environmental damage resists), environmental hazards take forever to start damaging you. there needs to be a system that let's you choose when you want to PVP higher levels than you, and it's locked when you turn it on until death. but other than that, nice game bitmonster! It has a lot of potential.

Shining example of why you don't support Early Access games. Learned my lesson.

Nothing has changed in the year and a half I've owned it. It's very bland, barebones and grind-heavy for little reward. I believe they ran out of ideas after programming so many dancing emotes.

Extremely grindy and lackluster. The scenery was beautiful to start out, but after a while you realize everything is a reskin/recolor of the things you've seen before. Not in a good way either. Also, after sinking 25 hours into the game and having my stuff wiped from the server for no good reason, I'm not inclined to go back. I can't even imagine how the people who put 100+ hours into this game feel. The grind is not worth my time. My boyfriend is playing it as I type this, but only because there are no other games like this until No Man's Sky comes out. We're both counting down the days for NMS to come out and for this game to fade into the obscurity it deserves. 2/10, go buy literally anything else.

i bought this game thinking it would be a good buy and dont get me wrong its a pretty good game but at this point has just turned into a cashgrabber scheme, to expand on that is the fact that the only time devs say anything to its players is months 3-5 about a supposed update that never seems to come and just gets repeatedly posted about such as this one universe update thats been posted up 4 times and still no sign of it nor do they give any updates as to whats going on in the development and only post to give the illusion of it still being worked on.

at this point theres nearly nobody left in the servers as at this point we figure this games devs have stopped working on it and are just sitting back to take peoples money.
