So. This game has zombies in it, and you shoot at them. To be more accurate I think they are actually mutants, but "Mutant Shooter" doesn't sound as catchy as the current name. It's hard to shake the feeling of basically playing a flash game which you can find dozens of already online. The soundtrack is okay, fits the feel of the game even though it's pretty cliché occasionally. Graphics are outdated but still pretty clear and functional. There's the occasional movement bug where you get stuck on random objects while trying to steer away from the hordes, which can be annoying.
The gameplay consists of a campaign with RPG elements, where you upgrade your chosen character's stats (male or female) and their weapons. You can purchase new equipment and guns with the money you get from the levels, and the further you progress the more you will need those improved weapons. There's also a survival mode and a local high score list, which was cool in the 90's.
Oh, and the last levels are pretty damn difficult. Shame the final boss isn't anything special. I don't remember buying this game, probably got it from an indie bundle sometime. Overall it was pretty fun, can't recommend buying it for the full price but if you're like me and just found it lying in the corner of your library, it's an okay game to waste a few hours in.
