This is one of the smoothest ports that I've ever seen, double points for actually making it true to the Phone Version. Hell, I can't complain since I'm not that picky when I see a new Port from another system anymore. The technology required to port games isn't easy to comeby. Hell, developers are now struggling to actually port some games onto the PC.

Shameless cash grabber.

Plays like an app game:
Drastically basic controls
Constant splashy reward screens for doing next to nothing.

More ways to click away your credit card information, then there are features in the game.

Can be nice early if you have some time to kill or if you have a MOBILE device.

You will have to upgrade your gear to continu (no choice, if you don't you can't continue the "story") with gold that you can find in the game but it take sooooo much time to collect that you will have to pay if you want to finish the story.

Not really good idea for a pc game.

If you, don't have mobile device of any sort and you never heard of the "running games", then you might want to check this out and then realize why this game format should stay on mobile.

This is a Temple Run clone, with somewhat interesting RPG and story elements. It starts off easy enough, and gets interesting fairly quickly. However, just after it gets interesting, it starts getting cheap, and pushing you to pay to progress. Mind you, this isn't absoletely necessary, but unless you want to grind out mission after mission to get the coins you need to make it so you don't get one shot but a late springing trap, you'll have to pay money.

On top of that, hit detection is sometimes iffy. even though you can change lanes in mid-jump/slide, it doesn't seem to carry over to other lanes, causing me to take unnecessary damage.

ok.. it´s a runner game like "temple run", it´s free to install and play the first few missions. BUT then you see the obvious mobile-port-ingame-store... so you might get ingame-gold, but that takes forever and you need it to upgrade your equipement - and better stuff is needed for higher quests/levels...

so, my recommendation is this: install it and have fun, until you get to the point where it would cost money to play more. then deinstall it again.

edit: if you check the achievements, you can see when you need to pay for the game and when it gets pay2win.

It's not a bad game. Let's get that right off. The game is quite enjoyable and playable on a mechanic and aesetic level.

Seriously, you could do worse, and it is quite a bargain at 'Free'

That said... yeah the Free2Pay thing starts hitting you really fast. I've already eached the point where the strength of enemies requires a sword that will take me a day to grind the coins for.

So I have to say that this game gets a thumbs down. Not because of the dlc push and what not. Nope, I'm thumbs downing it because the devs should have scaled it a bit better. I mean when you find yourself grinding and slogging the same runs over and over to get the coins so you can buy the item you need to unlock or complete your next run... and your total play time isn't even 3 hours... nope.. sorry.

A mindless port of a phone game that tries to get you to pay money. Basically garbage.

It's a dull runner that is not unique at all. It's boring, repetitive and standard. The only "fantasy rpg" bit about it is buying and equipping extremly expensive armor and weapons. This game belongs on a smart phone, not on Steam. I know I didn't play that much of this game, but it was excruciatingly boring.

Running Shadow is a unique mix of a parkour game and a fantasy RPG. Simple game mechanics are enriched with a mythical plot full of secrets and intrigue. Sounds cool huh? You can enjoy only the initial phase of the game until they are just trying to monetize by suggesting you items from the store at every step. Could be better.
