I started playing this game on CD in 2009 and i still love it equal much than before. This game is amazing and makes a lot of fun.

As a huge starwars fan, this game is great! Get the added dlc for even more fun with it adding a new campaign and another faction. Plus new units for the Rebels and the Empire. This game is truely a past time for me. I have many more hours then what steam says I have. This is the thrid time I have brought the game. As I lost my first two cds and still wanted to play it.

Game is very moddable as well. As a huge fan of the expanded universe, aka legends series now. The Imperial Civil War mod is o detailed and makes the game when you get tired of it seem like an entire new game. I would always recommend this game to every star wars fan or RTS fan. AI can be easy at time, but playing online with mods is your wits against another person. Using every skill you have to win.

This game is amazing. I played the normal version before i bought a copy on steam to play FoC and both of which i would reccomend to any Star Wars fan. However after you beat the campaigne, the game can seem a bit dry but this is easily fixed with the Absolute Corruption mod.

9/10 would reccomend, Graphics arent best but they get the job done on high

A guy had posted in the community hub yesterday to see if anybody would want the game, he said if you don't have it and I didn't have and I've been wanting this for a while now. And if it weren't for him posting it then i wouldn't be here typing this review. And for a 10 year old game, its pretty ♥♥♥♥ing good, reminds me a lot like company of heroes.

Although nearly 10 years old Empire at War represents the FINEST in Star Wars Strategy Games. Whether you want to do a "Galaxy Conquest" mode and just play as either the Empire or Rebellion, or do a story mode learning about the empire or republic this is the game to get. As a Star Wars game, it is absolutley stellar. Other than the Battlefront games, this is by far my favorite Star Wars game out there.

As a RTS game, it also scores high on my list. The ground based combat works quite well, but the space combat above planets is phenomenal. Very good game. I'm excited to seek out and try all the different mods!

Nice strategy game. Each side has its own special abilities and no side is too strong. And there is a Republic at War mod.

This is a great game, as many have called it, a masterpiece. I do not disagree.

PLEASE NOTE, however, that online multiplayer stopped functioning back in 2013 with the downfall of GameSpy. LAN multiplayer is the only available option left.

I was involved in this games community log before i was released. I loved this game more than ever when it came out and even had some input as part of the community in its development. (this was before Petroglyph has official forums(Yeah im that old XD) I love this game to death and have spent many hours away from Steam playing it. I even bought a second copy just so i can play it again. I would have loved for a follow on to this game was made as it was awesome.
