  • Fixed deadzone and settings issues for Logitech Driving Force GT (were introduced with Update 4).
  • Made the indicator lights a bit darker.

Bus Simulator 16: Update 4 available now!

Dear community,

our fourth major update for Bus Simulator 16 is now available for download here on Steam. In addition to the new "ROUNDTRIP" feature which allows to drive a route back and forth, so you will be able to drive a route back after you've completed it, the update also offers a general Force Feedback support for the most common steering wheels as well as further bug fixes and game improvements. Here is an overview of the changes:

Patchnotes:

Features:

  • "öäüß" are now allowed as characters in input-fields
  • Implemented general ForceFeedback (for non-Logitech(R) steering wheels) based on DirectInput
  • Logitech G25 and G29, and Thrustmaster T150 and T300RS are now properly recognized by the game
  • Most wheels will now have a proper default key binding
  • Implemented roundtrip feature

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed bus-stats display in owned busses and shop menu
  • Fixed label on police and ambulance cars not fitting in some languages
  • All options now fit again in the game settings tab in main menu
  • Fixed issue that bus name was displayed incorrectly when too long
  • With mouse steering enabled, the steering input does no longer change while the menu is open
  • When starting the game for the first time, it changes to windowed mode if not running at native resolution (to avoid the bug that the mouse position is offset)
  • Improved kneeling bonus detection: it is now checked for the first passenger who boards or unboards the bus at a given stop
  • Fixed wrong advertisement texture on big busstops
  • Improved GPS path calculations, covering several more edge cases where paths were not ideal
  • Added threshold to the "Wrong One-Way Direction" penalty (to avoid certain false-positives)

About This Game

Win the daily battle with the clock—become a bus driver!

Six true-to-life city buses, including two Lion’s City buses licensed by MAN, and a gigantic freely accessible world are waiting for you in Bus Simulator 16. Transport your passengers to their destinations across five authentic city districts safely and on time. Drive a two-door, three-door, or a true-to-life articulated bus through commuter traffic at rush hour, watch out for emergency vehicles, and take detours around construction sites. But watch out, or you will get into trouble for accidents and traffic violations!

You also have to maintain order inside the bus. Calm upset passengers, repair stuck doors, sell tickets correctly, and extend the ramp for wheel chair passengers in a timely manner. You will have to be efficient if you want to stick to your schedule, as it is only by doing this that you will build up your reputation in the city, earn the trust of your passengers, and most importantly, make money! The better your reputation, the larger the contracts you can secure, and the more buses will be available to your company in the shop. Unlock additional districts of the city and carefully plan routes for the employees you will acquire in the included job exchange.

As you grow more successful, you will also acquire more and more advertising banners for your buses, which bring in additional money. If your buses are too dull, you can paint and decorate them with unlockable decals, ensuring that your passengers reach their destinations in the coolest way possible.

You think bus drivers are lonely? Not in Bus Simulator 16! Invite your friends into your game in multiplayer mode and let them take over routes for you. The money they earn can be used to expand your shared company and thus perfect public transportation in your city.

You want to drive even more buses and arrange Sunny Springs to fit your expectations? Then you can just construct the city to suit your own taste. Bus Simulator 16 is mod-friendly, and you can use programs like Blender and Gimp to adjust the visual appearance of the existing buses to your liking, as well as integrate your own custom buses and buildings into the game.

Features:

  • 6 realistic buses: 2 door buses, 3 door buses, and articulated buses
  • 2 MAN Lion’s City buses
  • Gigantic freely accessible city with 5 authentic districts that you can unlock one by one, for a great open-world experience
  • Plan your own routes and drive them yourself
  • A multitude of pedestrians and vehicles with different behaviors bring the city alive
  • Various challenging traffic situations (rush hour, mobile road works, demonstrations, emergency vehicles)
  • Unforeseen situations such as stuck doors and special requests from your passengers constantly demand your attention
  • Follow the traffic rules and stick to your schedule in order to unlock the various buses, districts, and missions
  • Manage your company, hire drivers with various characteristics and skills, and optimize your routes and your profit
  • Manage your bus company with your friends in multiplayer mode
  • Customize your buses with different colors and decals
  • Modding: Customize your buses and your city to suit your individual tastes, acquire new buses, and integrate them into the game
  • Popular steering wheels and gamepads are supported
  • With english Voice Overs

So yes this is an okay simulation of running a bus company and also driving busses however there are some issues!

Left mirror is laggy and looks really weird.
draw distance is really low and the mirrors are even worse!
NPC's do silly things like stand in the way of doors causing you problems.
I've not experianced any bugs or any performace issues but OMSI is such a better game!

For Note I am running an I7 6700k, r9 390, 16Gb ddr4 ram, running on a standard HDD with no lag on high settings

This is a fantastic bus simulator. This is like the simplified version of OMSI with much simpler controls and gameplay which makes the game less challenging and I like causual gameplay.

However, this game is very poorly optimised. I'm able to play Fallout 4 despite its high PC requirements for higher level of details and graphics quality.
Don't get me wrong. This game looks decent, but considering the level of details and quality, I would expect this game to run more smoothly than other hardware demanding PC games. I am really disappointed to see that this game performs poorly with a constant 20-25 FPS and the gameplay is significantly slowed down.

I was waiting for an optimisation update but it never came. I am now able to select custom resolutions but that doesn't work out so well for me due to the incorrect position of my cursor.

I have a lower end gaming pc and it runs this game fine. I enjoy the management aspect that other bus simulators don't provide. on a whole this is an enjoyable game, and people shouldn't turned away because of the large number of negitave reviews. I had/am having a good time playing this game, without pulling anything near 60fps.

After reading a lot of negative reviews about performance issues, I was reluctant to buy this game since a lot of people with high end PCs (better than mine) were complaining about lag/fps issues. My PC meets the 'recommended specs' for this game. I can run the game with a few jitters on medium settings which is acceptable for me. I think the devs need to do more performance testing and adjust the recommended specs.

Now that the main issues are out of the way, what does this game do well? Well, the devs have clearly spent more time on gameplay (which is what I expect from a simulator). The AI is good (for the most part), cars will most of the time let you pull out if you indicate and as others have said pedestrians actually wait for you if you are approaching a crossing at speed before crossing the road. The only thing that has baffled me is when the lights are on green so I can turn right for example but the pedestrian crossing light is also on green on the road I am turning into so I have to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting people as they cross the road. This has only happened at a few intersections so its not too bad. If you pull up too close to the curb, pedestrians will get stuck trying to get on (but this is easily sorted by reversing and pulling up again). I haven't played the game enough to give a thorough overview of the management side of the game but so far I am enjoying it.

The devs are actively bringing out updates so hopefully they will sort out the issues in the game. Overall, I am enjoying the game thoroughly and would recommend it (based on gameplay quality not performance). I will warn you, if you are the type of person who wants the highest graphics settings and you exceed the recommended specs - be prepared to play on lower settings. If gameplay is your priority, you will probably enjoy playing the game. If you're thinking of buying the game, it might be best to wait a while until some of the major performance issues have been sorted.

Have to say I'm quite annoyed at the number of negative reviews on this game.

This is a very quality simulator, all be it with high run requirements. I have a fairly mid-high end PC, and I'm able to run it fine with no frame drops, freezing etc. As such, I will not comment any further on how the game runs, and i'll focus on the gameplay,

The start of the game is a little silly, and I can imagine that the tutorial puts quite a few people off. At first I also thought that the game would be a lot more arcadey than it is (based on the tutorial).
The part of the game that I love is the management side, unlike other Bus Simulation games you don't just hop into a bus and drive a pre-determined route. Sure, the actual bus might not be simulated to a high level of detail, but it has enough there to make it enjoyable and feel like a simulator.

I was also very supprised to see that there is mod support...which is fantastic! I've created a custom logo for my company and imported it as a mod. I can now use it as a decal to place on my buses (Which is another great feature).

One thing I noticed about this simulator, compared to other...non-super-realistic ones is that it doesnt punnish you as much. The ai traffic is fairly clever and will allow you to pull out of stops unharmed, and pedestrians will also wait before crossing the road if you're aproaching at speed.
Another point on this, the "score" markers that appear in the bottom left, normally detailing something that you have done well, or done poorly. I was under the impression that all of these affect your star rating etc...but they don't!
To give an example, my bus was diverted due to heavy traffic, and allong the diverted route a passenger requested that I stop. Upon stopping, the red marker popped up saying that I stopped at a stop that wasnt on the route. However, upon inspecting the tablet, which lists all of the factors that effect your rating it wasnt listed!

All in all I find this simulator very enjoyable, which can't be said for a lot of modern simulation games. It seems as if the developers put a little bit of love into this title, which is always nice to see.

Dont working with the Logitech Driving Force GT since the update :( please fix it!
The game is not good but also not the very bad, but the perfomance and the graphics are soooo bad for a 2016 game and the price for this game is too expensive!
I give this game 3.5/10 points and wait for a sale when you want buy it!

Seriously? Really? Lag is unbearable, i have a NVIDIA 960 4GB with an intel I5 3.2 Ghz processor with 8GB of RAM, and i get lag spikes even on the LOWEST graphical setting? Deadzone on my G920 steering wheel is simply awful. Waste of £10, because yes, im not paying £18.99 for this garbage, i went to ♥♥♥. (no refund for me then) seriously, SORT. IT. OUT.

֍ Not perfect, needs some work. Hands down more accessible and stable than OSMI 2. I streamed this for about 8 hours yesterday. It only crashed once. I guess if you have a potato pc then it might seem laggy. Overall my biggest complaints are no TrackIR support and the steering was hard to get smooth with my Thrustmaster RS500. All in all it is a pretty decent cheap game. Please note that most of the negative reviews have barely ANY time playing it. Please look at playtime when checking out the reviews here on Steam.

Pros:
♥ Innovative scenerios that pop up as you drive
♥ Random conversations with the passengers
♥ Modding ability (should bring this game to a whole new level)
♥ Challenging conditions
♥ No scenerio where you need to know the bus routes in Berlin in 1988 (which my wife from Germany couldnt even help me with).
♥ Simple GPS that works better than floating signs in the sky

Cons:
♡ GPS arrow should always point UP. It rotates and some of the roads get winding so it makes it hard to tell which way to turn at intersection
♡ Lack of TrackIR meant that its hard to turn your head and see oncoming traffic. I ended up killing 4 or so people and hit about 15 cars in 8 hours.
♡ Easy to go bankrupt if you try going too fast
♡ Decals and stickers are not rotateable so the ads sometimes look stupid

Closing thoughts
Overall this is a fine niche game. Look kiddos, it is not every day we get a bus sim. Stop being obtuse and see the good in things why dont ya? Bah Bah Baaaahhhh.
That is all
