Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an action-adventure, hack'n'slash roller coaster of Sith Awesome Sauce. You play as Starkiller, the 'secret apprentice' of Darth Vader. Though you are initially tasked with hunting down Jedi Survivors, your quest quickly changes after you make some friends, enemies, and are put through extreme measures. It is honestly one of the best stories featured in a Star Wars game, and the story accounts for so much of the momentum while playing (I should note that as with all other star wars games, the story is considered non-canon in the universe, which I personally don't mind).
The gameplay is a bit cumbersome at first, but once you've gotten used to it, the lightsaber and force combat is extremely addicting and fun. After sometime, you'll start making heavy use of combos, combining force lightning with lightsaber attacks, or force push with force dash, etc. There's tons of combos to be pulled off, all visually satisfying and very useful when taking down enemies. The AI is overall intelligent, apart from some enemy types with very basic reactions to the player, but that's easily excused by the wide variety of enemy types.
The game spans 10 levels, taking about 45 Minutes (give or take) for each, so the game ends up being really short. Each level is filled with hidden Holocrons, giving timed buffs or unlockables, such as lightsaber crystals or upgrade points. A boss battle usually concludes each level, mostly being unique and very challenging. You'll face down Rancors, Sith Assassins, Imperial Walkers, the list goes on. It always gives you something to look forward to at the end.
It's worth mentioning that this is definitely a console port, as the framerate is locked and there's little to no optimization settings or menus. The game overall looks and runs decent, apart from sound issues on very rare occassion. If you play on a potato, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Overall, The Force Unleashed is a worthy game for any Star Wars fan, and double for a fan of Sith characters. The Ultimate Sith Edition just adds 3 bonus levels as an epilogue to the game's alternate ending, but they're nice additions. Despite being incredibly short, the game offers a lot of replay value with the combat system, collectibles, and harder difficulties.
