We hear you!

Dear gamers,

We have noticed the bugs in the video of jim sterling and the other video's. First we want to apologize for the state of our release. Because we are a small indie studio, we don't really have a lot of quality assurance. The "slender bug" Jim Sterling found was never discovered in our testing.
We are working hard to get the bugs fixed, especially the camera controls, and improve on the feedback you gave.

We made some mistakes in our rush to reach the deadline, that we can admit. However we also want to point out that we are a starting indie studio with just 6 guys working hard on this game. The animations are what they are, we never showed false images in our trailers and screenshots or promised things not in the game already.

Soon there will be a patch with quite a bit of rebalancing in the gameplay and the guards will be more responsive.

Again I apologize to our buyers and Valve, and wish everybody a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheers,
Happylifes

About This Game

You are Brian Lowfield, you awaken on the cold floor of a prison cell with no recollection of what happened in the past 24 hours. You've lost your memory and you're completely stripped from your gear. On the floor, you find a picture of a young girl. You don't know who she is, yet she looks familiar to you. You have no idea what's going on, but one thought strongly resounds in your mind: I Will Escape!

While you're trying to escape you will encounter different challenges while finding your way out such as:
  • Solve puzzles,
  • Finding items,
  • Getting past your enemies unseen,
  • Plan your route,

  • Confront different type of enemies.

You have no weapons so you will have to sneak or distract your enemies. Whatever happens, do not get caught!

This game is mediocre at best, there are so many things that just make this unenjoyable to me.
Firstly the A.I in the game is dumb as a brick.
They cannot notice you while you run under and near them in the same room for an example.
This makes the first selling point of the game, the stealth aspect, pointless as there is no real sense of danger.

The second selling point according to the store page, is climbing the prison walls and such like in assasins creed or something. Even that is botched up on the very fist time you need to that.

The unresponsive controls (at least on the keyboard, don't know about controller) certainly doesn't help it. Just to open the inventory I had to bash the "i" button several times to get it open.

The story also is quite non existent and you get no connection to the silent protagonist at all.

If you want to see some footage of the game you can check my video of it here

Don't buy this. The Steam sale is on and a lot of better games are available for far less of you'r hard earned dollars/euros/quids.

Just one hour in and already I'm making a review for this

-terrible graphics
-terrible AI
-terrible animations
-terrible "stealth" system
-terrible camera
-terrible controls that you can't even bind

Overall: I thought this game could pull off some good features, but boy was I wrong. The game is downright a disappointment. This game looked like a mod for source games. It doesn't even give you a tutorial on the start. Instead, you have to pick up pictures that give you a "tutorial", and it doesn't even tell how how to pick it up until you find one of the pictures for it. The worst part is that you're stuck with the controls for the rest of the game because it won't let you bind keys. The AI is downright terrible. I opened a door, and the gaurd went to investigate by walking towards the door and saying some random dialogue as he just walks away. The "stealth" in this game plays out as trial and error since getting caught once is an instant failure. The protagonist walks (or runs) like a woman. When you jump off and die, the death animation looks like it was from an N64 game. The camera is way too far away from the protagonist, and when you use the mouse, it just zooms in near your shoulder to the point where you can see through his arms and shoulder. This game's mechanics feels incomplete, and I feel like I've been ripped off. This game could've been good, but it's execution is too terrible.

I dont know how far I got through the game towards the end, but it was a fairly decent game. I played it for about 2.3 hours and it finally destroyed my computer. I went to go open a cabinet in game and it completely crashed. The part that I played though, I quite enjoyed very much. I recorded it on my youtube channel and I could tell it wasnt ready for youtube yet knowing that I just bought it in the early stages of development. Overall though, excellent and challenging game :). https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpu2OT14iHlOrwQV92bcPgfNdeTdOoL7L

I just played this game for a few hours an must say that I'm quite impressed.
I like the way the game lets figure things out for yourself, it reminds me of those hard games from the past where you get way more excited to advance through the game than most modern day games.

The game gets more interesting after you've played throught te first levels, you get more information about who you are and why you are escaping.

It's not perfect, the animations could be better and the camera sometimes gets in the way but I do look forward to continue playing. Surely this game also shows what the Blender game engine is capable of.
