This and Kotor II are the best Star Wars RPGs ever made, and two of my favorite RPGs of all time. You won't regret this purchase at all. Tons of replayability, loyal community with all the answers and a bunch of stellar mods. Owning meatbags with a lightsaber has never been more fun.

Oh my goodness. Just got this game this year, never played it before, heard all the praise and I am still impressed. This game really is one of the greats and a proud addition to your library, the combat is not perfect but still fun, the characters are fun and interesting and the world is just full of characters. While it's age shows in it's reuse of character models I can still not recommend it enough. The only problem I had were all the bugs, but these were only minor problems thanks to the awesome community which had every answer to any problem I could think of. If this game could get a remastor or even a faithfull remake I'd buy it on the spot, well worth ten dollars.

>stroll into my local GameStop
>looking to pick up a copy of KOTOR
>grab the game and take it to the charming maiden at the register
>"Pardon me, milady...but could you ring me up? A shame I don't have your number or I'd ring you up instead..."
>she giggles and takes the game, blushing as her fingers brush mine due to my fingerless gloves
>her eyes widen as she reads the game's title
>"Wow, I've never seen anyone buy this before! You must have special taste!"
>I smile and ready a witty response when suddenly a voice rings out from behind
>"Hahaha look at what this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is buying! That's not EA Star Wars Battlefront ! What a piece of ♥♥♥♥!"
>I quickly turn around, my cloak billowing behind me, to discern the source of the rude outburst
>generic dudebro caricature with a sports team cap and "the guy that beat you up that one time behind the school in early October" shirt is standing there guffawing
>"Excuse me sir...you may disparage my person if you wish, but it is untoward to swear in front of a lady."
>"♥♥♥♥ you ♥♥♥♥♥♥!"
>I smile quietly and tip my fedora low across my eyes, concealing them
>"As you wish..."
>I quickly swing my cane into his kneecap before he can react
>he bellows and charges forward
>I expertly sidestep him and the cashier screams as he crashes into the counter
>I draw my sword-cane and mutter a quiet oath as I drive it deep into his back
>"...requiescat in pace..."
>As I clean my blade the girl walks out from behind the counter, twirling her hair with her fingers
>"So...maybe you'd like to come over to my place to play that game sometime...?
>"No thanks, milady, I prefer single player. Besides..."
>I sheath my sword
>"You're not my type."
>skate away on my Heelys

Over a decade later and this game still rocks. The most immersive, addictive star wars RPG experience ever. One of the strongest star wars stories told in a computer game. 10/10 perfect game. I really hope Disney adapts Revan's story into a Knights of the Old Republic trilogy someday.

The game does take some tinkering to get it working on windows 7 but its worth the hassle and it can be enjoyed in HD with apps like Flawless Widescreen. Just ensure you save frequently as the game may crash periodically but overall it won't stop you from completing the game if you take that precaution.

I've played the game before on XBOX but it is ridiculously buggy on modern computers. Frequent unresponsiveness to the point where it is unplayable from the first mission. In desperate need of an update. Shame!

Only Baldur's Gate II manages to trump this as Bioware's best game. One of the finest RPGs ever.

+ Fantastic story and voice acting, set in an interesting time of the Old Republic with well written characters.
+ Solid round-based combat, clearly inspired by their D&D work with the Baldur's Gate series.
+ Graphics hold up impressively well all these years later.

- Needs a mod to run in modern resolutions, but it's not too troublesome to get working.

I got this game a few months ago and it still stands up as a great game today. It's not only a good Star Wars game but it's a great role playing game as well. I'd recommend this game for any fan of Star Wars or RPG's.

That moment when you realize Mission Vao is only 14.
14/10 would shamefully fap again.

EDIT: Please do not hate, this review was merely satire. I didn't feel the need to make a serious review seeing as everyone and their mothers already know what an amazing game KOTOR is, so please, if you haven't, go play it.

- Amazing story
- Lots of different and interesting locations
- Rewards exploration
- Interesting characters

Cons
- Quite buggy, you'll want to quicksave a lot
- Cutscenes can feel awkward
- Combat isn't that great

At this point I highly doubt my opinion will cause anyone to buy this game but here goes:
This is the best an RPG can be. The absoloute hieght of lore and decisions that affect the outcome of an entire galaxy. Not only does the game let you feel the power of a force user, it lets you do what you want to with it. But your choices have reprocussions to those around you, some of whom you can turn away entirely or even slaughter. Play this game and I promise you will fall in love with the individual charactors and the universe as a whole. This is the best we have gotten so far in gaming. No more is needed to say. No gamer can claim such a title without having played through this game at least once.

Quite probably my favourite game ever.

I fell in love with it on the original XBOX version, then bought for PC when the XBox died. I've bought it at least twice over the years.
I am sure the genre has surpassed this classic in many ways, but I have never felt as immersed in the Star Wars universe than in this game.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this game, I completed it in about 40 hours and god was it good, that being said, it didn't come without any drawbacks, the steam version is very bugged, and there are so many problems I cant even list all of them, the biggest ones in my opinion, is the "can't move after combat bug", and the lack of fullscreen resolutions, I'm amazed at how valve has basically done nothing about this, it still one of the best rpgs of all time, and trust me, im not the only one saying that. If you want to buy this game, go for it, it'll probably work on your system, just dont be so amazed if it doesn't. Just know that if you buy this game, you'll have to play it like it was 2003 unless you go really deep into fixing all the broken stuff, which you can fix by extensive troubleshooting.

A realy good game. It may be a bit old, it may look old and some parts may seem, with today's standards a litle bit "stupid", so to speak.

But the rest is realy good. A good story, which, thanks to the settings in the Old republic-era make you think of how big the Star Wars-univers is.

I realy like it and for those of you who feel that you want to escape the prequals, originals and sequals and still have fun in Star Wars-univers, it is totaly the game for you! The good story with the different options make you feel a bit of personal involvment in the happinings.

Give it a try and may the Force be with you!
