After solving the issue why it wouldnt start I really did enjoy this a lot better on pc then xbox expcicaly with the load screen and with cheats I can get Darth revens robes right at the begining instead of the ending

Imma start off with a sidenote. I see a lot of people in the reviews giving this game a bad rating becasue they can't play, to those people: I was experiencing the same problem as soon as I bought a new graphics card, if your graphics card is a recent model the game will most likely not work as long as the Frame Buffer Effects are still on and/or the Soft Shadows.
And with that out of the way....

SWKOTOR, my second favourite game losing only to it's sequel

Star Wars and/or RPG fans behold, an amazing game with great gameplay and okay graphics considering the overall age of this game (13 years at the time of writing this review)

It has pretty much everything you would expect in an RPG and the Star Wars theme adds quite a lot to that as well.
The story is absolutely great and you have several ways of completing the game, dark side or light side, just as one might expect from a SW-themed game.

I highly reccomend downloading and installing the restored content mod, it adds a lot of items like weapons, armor and more. Besides from adding items it also adds cutscenes and additional dialog to make the entire story a bit smoother and easier to follow. I already had about 60 hours of playing this game and trying loads of stuff, after which i discovered that it has mods(!!). Currently clocking in at 120 hours and still discovering new stuff and exploring more and more modded content.

If you enjoy this game i would also highly reccomend the sequel SW KOTOR The Sith Lords. this game does have Steam Workshop integration which makes modding a lot easier.

What the hell are you doing? Buy this game already ffs.

Seriously speaking, KOTOR on reputation alone is considered one of BioWare's best titles, if not, the best title in their library of stellar RPGs. A must buy if you're into Star Wars games.

Knights of the Old Republic is one of the greatest RPG Games ever developed. I highly recommend this to any Star Wars & RPG Fan.

KOTOR is best played with K1 Restoration mod and Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge mod (both are compatible with each other).

Pros
+ Far better than SWTOR (also known as the game that killed Revan)
+ Storyline is intense, revelations that will leave you speechless (unless you're stupid like me and decide to look at a Youtube playthrough and ruin the ending for yourself)
+ Aside from the main storyline there are plenty of side quests you can do to keep you busy for hours
+ The fate of the entire galaxy is placed in your hands, as you search for clues to the mysterious 'Star Forge' you can either help people or destroy them
+ Excellent voice acting that fits perfectly into the story

Cons
- Game has the potential to crash at the most inconvenient times (happens less on the Steam Version)
- No Achievements or Steam Trading Cards
- Textures & Graphics are a bit dated, but thankfully there's a bunch of mods that aims to fix that
- Camera in the Ebon Hawk is zoomed far too close to the character (There's a mod that fixes this)
- Unlike in K2, you can't have much of a conversation with HK-47 or T3-M4

My Rating: 10/10 (Recommended)

Great game, not jus for its day. but in general. Satisfying, pausable, squad tactics-based combat and great RPG elements. your actions matter, so there are multiple endings. This one really deserves a remake.

I recommend this game, because even after so many years it's still a pretty good RPG with some memorable characters.

BUT!

Be warned that, even with additional fan patches, this game seems to have a lot of trouble with modern OS.

- There is a bug that after, like, 90% of the battles my character just got stuck and I had to quicksave and reload. Many other people have this issue, but there seems to be no fix for it besides the above-mentioned 'trick', which gets super tedious.

- The game crashed at irregular intervals, and it got more frequent the longer I had played. This tends to happen especially while quicksaving or loading, and if it happens during the first, the quicksave file is broken and can't be loaded anymore. That combined with the 'stuck after battle' bug gets INCREDIBLY annoying the longer you have to deal with it.

This doesn't render KOTOR unplayable, but I can't say I really enjoyed playing it either. So, if you buy the game, be prepared to face these nuisances too.

One of the best Star Wars games I've ever played! Great story with interesting characters and locations.

Pros
- Amazing story
- Lots of different and interesting locations
- Rewards exploration
- Interesting characters
- Lots of content

Cons
- Quite buggy, you'll want to quicksave a lot
- Cutscenes can feel awkward
- Combat isn't that great

Knights of the Old Republic (KoTR) for short, is an epic Star Wars RPG that lives up to the name. Its deep enough to get lost in purely for the game itself, yet doesn't let this depth ruin the Star Wars immersion. Its old, but its definately a staple in any good library.

Quite probably my favourite game ever.

I fell in love with it on the original XBOX version, then bought for PC when the XBox died. I've bought it at least twice over the years.
I am sure the genre has surpassed this classic in many ways, but I have never felt as immersed in the Star Wars universe than in this game.

At this point I highly doubt my opinion will cause anyone to buy this game but here goes:
This is the best an RPG can be. The absoloute hieght of lore and decisions that affect the outcome of an entire galaxy. Not only does the game let you feel the power of a force user, it lets you do what you want to with it. But your choices have reprocussions to those around you, some of whom you can turn away entirely or even slaughter. Play this game and I promise you will fall in love with the individual charactors and the universe as a whole. This is the best we have gotten so far in gaming. No more is needed to say. No gamer can claim such a title without having played through this game at least once.
