About This Game

Back by popular demand, The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game (originally released in 1990) for original and new audiences alike. The development team at LucasArts is bringing the game into the modern era with an all new re-imagined contemporary art style, a re-mastered musical score, full voiceover, and an in-depth hint system to help players through the game’s side-splitting puzzles. Purists will also delight in the ability to seamlessly switch between the updated hand-drawn re-imagining and the original classic version.
The game's twisty plot leads our naive hero on a hilarious, swash-buckling search for the fabled secret of Monkey Island. Tales of pirate wealth lure him to the port of Mêlée with high hopes, no money, and insatiable curiosity. If clever enough, he will win the confidence of Mêlée's pirates and find himself blown by the winds of fate toward the terrifying and legendary Monkey Island -- an adventure that would chill the bones of even the most bloodthirsty buccaneer.

I never played the classic game but this remaster is gold!
For those who played the original game, you can change between the old and the new in real time. It's a nice feature if you're into nostalgia.
Well, this is one of the best adeventure games around. Good laughs. Companies should make a few more games like this one.

Could so much awesome really be in one game.?! A story about mystery (Monkey island), ambition (To become a pirate), love (True love lasting over a series of 5 games), betrayal (Carla and Otis), epic humour (A red herring) and the start of the most awesome of it all….insult sword fighting! Without a doubt the best Adventure series out there, and this is where is starts.
How appropriate, you fight like a cow!

A wonderfull game full of quirky humour and puns. I've played this game through quite many times and it still felt quite fresh, probably thanks to the updated graphics and voice acting (the original version can be chosen at any point of the game and vice versa). This version can easily be recommended to all scurvy, grog drinking pirates and wannabe pirates who enjoy their adventures with a slice humour.
