This game was like 7 dollars on steam, and I was not expecting much, but my my my was I surprised. Me and my friend basically had done over 30 races on tour before we realized we had lost hours of time. This is what makes a great game, as opposed to the good ones.

Dirt 3 is probably one of the greatest racing games out there today and here's why

Pros
- Beautiful graphics eventhough the game is a few years old
- Great driving mechanics
- Amazing environment visuals
- Realistic terrain
- Various game modes
- Large Variety of cars
- Addictive and intense gameplay
- Runs very smoothly
- Very fun to play

Cons
- The campaign could of been longer
- Slightly unrealistic car physics

Overall Dirt 3 is an astouding game, it manages to keep racing intense and fun at the same time. It holds up so well today and it easily outclasses most racing games in recent years

9.5/10!

Pressing alt + enter repeatedly lets you skip the annoying voices at the beginning and everywhere else in the game.

You're welcome.

I have been participating in racing games probably my entire life, including Need for Speed, Forza Motorsport, and many more. I've always had a distinct love of cars, and always possessed the interest in pushing these amazing machines to their limits. That's where DiRT comes in.

Rally racing has been a staple source of entertainment for race fans for decades. The sport involves driving, of course, but the difference here is the location and the conditions. Rally cars are often designed for intense offroad courses and terrible driving conditions, including heavy snow, muddy terrain, and torrential downpours.

DiRT has all of these. While it's not a racing simulator, the game is still an extremely enjoyable experience. It includes a variety of different events that will test your driving abilities. There's classic "Rally," where you individually run a pre-determined course in the fastest time possible. If you've ever watched the X-Games, you've seen "Rallycross," which is more like a classic circuit race, with multiple cars running at the same time. There's "Land Rush," which is similar to Rallycross, but instead involves the use of identical rally trucks or buggies rather than cars from different manufacturers. Finally, "Drift challenges" and "Head2Head" finish up what I've experienced thus far. Drift challenges, one of the most difficult gamemodes in the game, forces you to push your vehicle to the edge as you try to rack up points from drifting around corners. The latter, Head2Head, is a one-versus-one event where you race to complete a track before your opponent, who starts on the opposite end, does the same.

Every one of these modes makes the DiRT experience a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Final Word

DiRT 3: Complete Edition is a slightly outdated game, but the experience is unlike any other game you've ever played. The game runs amazingly on my Core 2 Duo and GTX 660 build, and will probably run just as admirably on even lesser hardware. A word of warning, however, before I conclude my review: I use an Xbox 360 controller to play the game. The analog input is more reliable and beneficial for racing games, in my opinion, than digital keyboard input.

DiRT 3 is probably one of my favorite racing games. If you think you're up to the rally challenge, you may just consider giving it a try!

Disclaimer: I am playing my brother's Steam Family-Shared copy of the game. As far as I know, I am still receiving the full experience as it was originally intended by the developers, CodeMasters. If I am not, please let me know!

Don't like the arcade fest that is DiRT Showdown? DiRT Rally is too hard for you? Then DiRT 3 is the game you are looking for!

The main purpose of the game is to complete all kinds of races across 4 seasons, while additional championships are unlocked by winning in a specific category. Speaking of categories, there are 6 in total:

-Rally is what the name suggests : off-road courses from point A to point B. Some of the stages are short, but it's fine.
-Rallycross events are pretty much circuit races using rally cars. You do a set number of laps and that's it.
-Trailblazer is like Rally, but focuses on speed and puts the player in hillclimb-spec cars. Really interesting, considering you don't have a co-driver here.
-Land Rush are offroad races with stadium trucks and buggies. Same as Rallycross.
-Head 2 Head is a round based duel race between 2 drivers with changing routes. It's ok, but takes too much time to even unlock them.
-Gymkhana is a freestyle trick competition. It's skateboarding, but with cars. I don't like it too much, especially since it's somewhat forced in the career mode.

Other remarks:
-Overall physics are well done and hit a nice spot between simulation and arcade.
-Keyboard controls are easy to use.
-Unskippable voice commentaries >:(
-Want to do a time trial record? Good luck, top 100 is filled with cheaters.

Final rating : 8/10

DiRT 3 is one of, if not THE best racing game currently on Steam.

The graphics are great, the UI is beautiful and the maps are detailed and gorgeous.

DiRT 3 offers a wide variety of difficulties, shying away from the norm and is accepting of more casual players who aren't interested in complex controls. That said, the controls are great - both on controller and mouse/keyboard.

There are almost too many maps to choose from, and they all are of excellent quality. The game-modes seem to go on past the horizon as well, although each and every one still manages to be unique and fun.

I personally recommend the 'intermediate' difficulty for new players, and to turn off ABS as soon as possible. The game has the just the right balance of challenging but not so challenging that it isn't fun.

DiRT 3 is what to buy if you need a fun racing game. It's not particularly realistic in terms of physics, but if it was, it would be a worse game. It's well priced, and THROUGHLY enjoyable.

If you are looking for easy but highly enjoyable rally-ing, this is the game to go to.

The graphics still holds up to today's standard, and the physics control are ok for an arcade type racing game. It's rally and I love how it feels with a controller.

The bad? None yet.
