About This Game

Dive into the Middle Ages and play the successor to the worldwide #1 hit, Bridge Constructor

Bridge Constructor Medieval turns back the clock a few centuries to the time of knights and castles. Build sturdy bridges to supply your city with provisions - or cunningly constructed bridges that collapse under the weight of attacking troops, sending the horde of enemies into the abyss below. You won’t even be safe from cannon fire in the 40 brand new levels. Protect your foot soldiers and your horse-drawn carriages with covered bridges and stable pillar structures.

There are a total of five materials available to help you build the perfect bridge: wood, heavy wood, stone and ropes, along with the new addition of the bridge roof.
Throughout the exciting background story, you will familiarize yourself with the various materials on a step-by-step basis, and learn everything you need to know so that your bridges meet the requirements of the different levels.

Innovative game modes in store for you!
Besides building stable bridges, there's also plenty on offer for veterans to discover in the new game modes.
In the siege level, your bridge is bombarded by enemy catapults. Strengthen your bridge so that it doesn't collapse, and protect your own troops on the bridge with a bridge roof.

In another new game mode, you build your bridges so that they collapse under the load of enemy units to send as many of them as possible into the abyss.
In addition, the unique bonus challenges will leave even the most experienced players at their wit’s end. That way, both bridge-building professionals and novices will face a challenge in Bridge Constructor Medieval.

FEATURES:

  • For the first time: Build bridges in the Middle Ages!
  • Brand new levels and game modes for a completely new gaming experience
  • Design sturdy bridge roofs to protect yourself from enemy catapults
  • Construct cunning bridge traps to send advancing enemy troops into the abyss
  • Exciting and funny background story
  • Enjoy beautiful medieval landscapes
  • Achievements and leaderboards

Pleasing sequel of the first, it's just a reskin with some gameplay adds but it do the job. I enjoyed it.

However if you didn't played Bridge Constructor the first I advice you to start with it, sloping roads allow very nice tricks, sadly (or not, it add difficulty) missing in this one.

/!\ Beware for achievements hunter, one achievement is currently impossible to get (Tresurer's Archenemy - No map has a buget above 100,000).

Much like the older game this is a console port to PC. Quite a charming game. I've had fun with this.

Pros:
Fun gameplay
Good music
Physics can be hilarious

Cons:
Mobile port
Controlls can be clunky

Bridge Constructor Medieval is a variation on the original Bridge Constructor game by the same developers.

The concept is to build a bridge to allow goods to get across or prevent enemies getting across.
You have a limited budget to create your bridge and you will get bonus rewards to unlock extra levels if you complete secondary objectives on each level

Overall a very fun casual game thats easy to pick whenever you want

+ Simple yet detailed cobstruction system.
+ Cartoon style characters.
+ Difficult secondary obecjectives that can be very tough.

- Only 40 basic levels

Combines simplified bridge building with Total War. Build a great bridge to keep your warriors safe and resources moving. Build a crap bridge to get the enemy past the point of no return, only to have the structure fail.

I am awesome at building crap bridges, so this was perfectly suited to me. Good mix of challenge and variety. Not too long either.

Bridge Constructor... Yeah it is fun, but highly flawed. You are not really trying to get good at building bridges as much as you are trying to get good at understand the game mechanics. I don't know for sure, but I don't think an engineer would have all that much advantage when playing this. It is fun, but I just think the devs could make it so much better without really adding new content (just changing what is already there). They should:

1. Change up the music. It is soooo monotonous after an hour or so. Just have intermittant music if you cannot add any more.
2. Change up the scenery. It is like the same 3 or 4 scenarios for the whole game.
3. The roof mechanic is stupid. Just use it less. Why can we not have real elements like wind or weather or something.
4. QUANTIFY prices and stress for individual parts. Give numbers to things. They never tell you how much money you have - it is simply a meter that you fill up. What is the exact difference between good wood, rope and logs? Is logs twice as good as lumber, or only 1/3? This stuff matters.

The game is relatively short. If you really want this game, get it on sale or in a bundle IMHO.

It was very joyful playing this wonderful game. It has funny dialogs, it is easy going bridge building and there are challenging budget limits. Furthermore 3 different game modes involved: normal, protective and destructive. Especially the destructive mode lets you think reverse. You must build a bridge that collapses in that moment when all the enemies are standing on it. Great! They invented the DBMT (deadly bridge military tactics) ...

Another best moment in game: I've built a low budget bridge and all my units could pass before it fell apart LOL. Unfortunatelly got stuck later on lvl 4-11. But that forced me instead to figure out a new elegant solution. YAY Feeling now like a real engineer ... I'm looking forward to the next game of this series: Bridge Constructor Playground.

This Spin-off of the orignal Bridge Constructor is quite a good game but has a compared to the 2 other bridge constructor games a lower difficulty and a far shorter content.

Instead of cars and (tank) trucks - now knights and ox carts cross the bridges you've built.
The most notable difference to the other games of the series is that, 2 new "modes" have been introduced.
- There are levels were your bridge is bombarded by catapults
- There are levels were the enemy crosses your bridge and it has ideally collapse in the last moment to get rid of them.
The new game modes fit flawlessly into the good working mechanics and the replaced materials (wood plank, tree trunk, rope, stone) behave reasonable.

Be aware that as a bridge constructor veteran you will only need 3-4 hours to beat all challenges.

I would recommend the game to fans of the series and especially to younger "engineers", as the presentation of the though engineering background is not that obvious and dry as in the other games of this franchise.

Like the regular Bridge Contructor, you construct bridges. This time you have diffent materials, and wagons and armies instead of cars and trucks crossing the bridge. Puzzles tend to be less challenging than in the modern version, but there's a new type of mission: building bridges that collapse under the enemy armies. Feels more like DLC for the original Bridge constructor, but is fun to play nevertheless.

1. Look at my achievements
2. Look at my playtime
3. Look at the price
4. Think
...

Add annoying bugs from the previous game of the series (Bridge Contructor), like not-properly-working physics on small bridge elements, cars/units going upside down when the bridge broke, physics of units, ... Add annoying "we are trying for some storyline here with these dialogues" and you will get to the same thought as I did -> "At least I bought it for 1$ at some bundle"

Buy for full price? Are you kidding? No, thanks.

It has some good things though. I really liked bridges being bombarded (you have to strengthen them a little more or make them more flexible) and destroying the bridge under marching enemies. The latter is real fun.

So I just spent the night with my fiance playing through all the levels, and swithcing back and forth. It's a fun game. It's short though: we beat it with full credit in a few hours (whatever my play time is). I bought it in a bundle on sale and would say grab it under the same conditions.

Most of the achievements are gained just through playing, and I managed 100% completion without my difficulty. Doubt there is much replayability here.

Cute game, and I swear some of the music was ripped from one of the Anno games. Anyway, it's a simple-seeming enough game till you get in deeper. Then a limited budget requires you to be VERY creative in your bridge design. Not a game for grand designs or to show off artistic flair. It will keep you occupied for a short while, till either you get bored of it or just look at a guide for all the oddball designs on how to beat a stage.

Only get this game if it is on sale however, and don't pay more than 5 bucks for it.

First Impressions:

Built a bridge. It fell down and horse carts fell to their deaths. 10/10.

In all seriousness though, it's not a bad puzzle game. Those who have played bridge constructors before will be able to jump right into this. For those who haven't, you'll simply be tasked with creating a bridge that can support the weight of medieval soldiers, carts, and etc. Some extra game modes are available to help mix things up a bit. Some may think that ten bucks is a bargain while others will opt to wait for a sale...I would have done the latter, but that's only because I don't play these types of games often. Worth checking out at any rate.

Language is based on location instead of OS or steam settings language.
Even Game => properties => language is set to english, but the game only cares on the location and there is no option.
The physic of units falling when the bridge collapse is almost absent.
No "quit" button from the main menu.
I will remove this bad review IF the above get fixed. They are all easy to be fixed.

6/10

This game is surprisingly fun if you enjoy building things, especially with the challenge of a very limited budget. Several of the maps take a lot of thought and patience, but overall the game is fairly easy. It took me about 3-4 hours to get all of the achievements, and once you do that, there really isn't much replayability. Overall, I think this is a fun game, but not one that I would get had it not come in a humble bundle.

Much more than a regular bridge physics game. Each level poses a unique challenge and most levels have an additional challenge for added difficulty. I have spent quite a few hours in this game and I enjoy it. If the others in the series are like this I will be buying them all.

If you're a civil engineer (or studying to be one) and you really, REALLY enjoy designing structurally-sound bridges within cost constraints in your spare time, then this one's for you.

Otherwise, save your money...

This game was a waste of time. The interface is kludgy... it's feels like, and is likely nothing more than a PC port of a tablet game. The few "tools" you get to construct anything make you feel severely limited in how creative you can be. It's basically a game of "find the exact bridge developers wanted you to create by trial and error."

Fun, easy to learn and very addicting. Still, I don't know if its worth the full price of 10$, but if you get the chance to get it for 5$ or less its a good deal.
