The Collider is an extremely simple but also nicely entertaining game, focusing on racing at ever-increasing speed through a particle accelerator. Graphics are minimal but stylish and functional, sound is electronic and appropriate and the gameplay is simply fun. By finetuning mouse-speed it's possible to steer in the collider by making fine and controlled movements, which made me almost feel like being in that mad tube. The sensation of speed is cleverly reached, so mission accomplished.

Just one - to me serious - flaw: the achievements are completely broken. Many people have already complained about this on the Community Forum, but up till now no solution has been offered yet. Some may get them, so may not. Weird.

Overall score: 7/10

I have always dreamed about becoming a proton moving at almost light speed inside a particle accelerator, and now I can re-create these dreams in this particle accelerator simulator game!
You play as a tiny white packet of protons which are stripped of all of their electrons inside a particle accelerator, or a "collider", as it is called, moving through certain obstacles, although a collider will not usually have such obstacles for the packet of protons to maneuver through, I will assume they are magnetic accelerators, as maybe in a newer design I am not yet familiar with are already implemented in.
However, I was personally confused as to why there was only one proton shown, as normally, there would be "packets" of protons, consisting of roughly 100 billion protons per packets, with roughly 1500 packets. Although I take this as a mistake, I will not be to critical as this could of been a design choice, as having all this on your screen may be slightly distracting game-play wise.
I was also slightly dissappointed with the introduction, as I was really hoping to be able to traverse through different boosters, as this was the highlight of my particle accelerating fantasies. I was also very dissapointed with the lack of ending cutscenes, as I am still very curious as to what happens to the packet you are in control of. as there is no other protons to be able to collide with, I lost loads of fantasy filled nights thinking over the results of this specific collider. I was expecting there to be a cutscene at the end where you finally collide with another proton to cause many new particles or atoms to fling out so I could record the results. But maybe there will be a DLC, or even better, a sequel to the game which might show this.
Overall, I found this collider simulator very fun to play, although not very realistic, I had a great time achieving the fantasies I've always had.

If you're looking to pay up to 2 dollars to add another "perfect game" to your Steam Profile in literally 30 minutes on your lunchbreak (my actual experience with this game), then I guess you should pick this up.

Otherwise, once you've "completed" the game after reaching the oddly arbitrary "1300" speed threshold (1300 what? MPH? KPH? Scoville units?), there's just nothing else to do or any reason to keep playing it.

I'd say the replay value is abysmal but it's actually absent.
There's literally like a dozen (or maybe less?) of obstacles that pop up in front of you every now and then. I mean, I'm sorry, I meant to say that this game is "procedurally generated".
The only other thing that's supposed to add an edge to the gameplay is the coins, which are pointless. You can only use them to buy continues, and since you can get the "perfect/clean" playthrough achievements in 30 minutes anyway, you don't really need the coins and they're merely a distraction.

Verdict:
Possibly the most forgettable game I've ever played on Steam.
But, for those of you who need to bump up that 100% achievements count, sure why not, go nuts.

Warning ! This game is not for people with epilepsy !!!

Each time I play this game I think about Einstein and his relativity theory. I'm sure he play this game in paradise and like to be a particle, and rage to don't be on earth to learn us new things.

U are a particle and the speed grow up quickly and u just must avoid the collisions.
That go so fast, very very fast. And that make u raging and stressing but it's very very exciting.

It's a little game, but very challenging, best scores of week, players from multiples sources.
Well done, graphics, musics, he really wake up your brain.

If you need an adrenalin fix anytime then here it is. Its fast and takes tunnel vision to the extreme. Leaderboards are great and you want to just hit that next place above everytime. A blast for the price and with mouse control you can really stick it to the mobile users #pcmasterrace

This game is pretty cool, very simple, requires good reflex, cool soundtrack and nice graphics too. This game is very cheap, but it's also extremely fast to complete and plays really smooth!

I guess it's an android port, so the controls are simple; you only have to move your mouse and go through the holes without crashing. The leaderboards actually show if you are playing on Steam, Android or Apple.

So, if you want to play a very short but nice game, pick this one up! Personally I think $3 is a bit too much, maybe $1-2. The game is good but it's just so simple and short. There's a bit of replayability at least, so go ahead and play it!

The Collider, developed by Shortbreak Studios, offers the chance to test the reflexes, and how long one can go without blinking in a fast paced "thread the needle" type game. A simple concept, to be sure, so how does the game ultimately fare? There is little to say about The Collider, as it isn't so much a typical game, as it is a mild distraction to stave off boredom. Basically, the aim of the game is to thread a white dot, representing the cursor of the mouse, through circular panels that have small openings, some with coins, and some without. Crash and it is a loss of life; crash enough times and it's Game Over. It is possible to continue from crashing via spending the coins that are collected. That's really all there is to it.The main thing to keep the game going is the incremental increases in speed. At first it is pedestrian, but later on, the game whizzes along at such a speed that any form of blinking will result in a crash and Game Over.Essentially, anyone with experience in staring contests and with good reflexes should be able to have plenty of fun with the game. That's really all there is to it, though.Colourful and joyous, there's not really any graphics to speak of, but the courses are a wonderful kaleidoscope of colours. The soundtrack is rather basic with a whooshing sound as the thread goes through the needles. The Collider is a solid game that sets out what it wants to do: get the player jumping through hoops at ridiculous speeds. That is all it offers, though; there isn't enough here to justify a score higher than 5/10.

This is a very cheap game that is fun and is still challenging every time that you play. There is a lot of fun to be had and i recommend this game for people who like games such as super hexagon. There is only one problem with the game, and that is that the achievements are easy to get but they wont unlock on steam. Other than that this is a great game.

The Collider is a very short but immensely satisfying reflex game. You basically have to pass through obstacles without crashing while constantly increasing speed at a fixed rate. It's quite casual in the sense that you don't have to finish speed 100 to 1300 in one sitting. You can readjust the starting speed whenever you unlock a new one (which makes for quick and painless achievements). My only complaint with the game is that I somehow lost progress after reaching 1200. I tried to record the last stretch on Fraps and I'm not sure what happened during that time to trigger it. Thankfully, you can easily re-climb back to 1300 by using extra lives that cost coins. For all of you achievement hunters, don't use extra lives if you're trying to get the no-crash achievements. Whenever you crash, just go back to main menu and replay at the desired speed.

4/5. Very affordable and I definitely recommend it.

Doesn't seem to work right. I've only run the game for a total of five minutes now. It gets real fast immediately, way waaaaaaaay faster than in the video, doesn't seem to react to any of my input, neither mouse nor keyboard, and that number, I assume that's the speed, goes up to about 20.000, and then I crash against something, and now Steam says that I have unlocked all 24 achievements. All 24. In less than five minutes of running the game. Without actually playing or doing anything. Something's kinda broken here.

The achievements are bugged (I somehow unlocked them 100% all at once), but the game is a great way to spend 5 spare minutes and feel like a Jedi. Worth the 67p I paid.

Its time to move the couch in front of the 70" TV, get the box fans out, place strategically around the tv, turn on full blast, and play 'The Collider'. Don't forget the snacks as you're going to be playing for a while until you beat it. Yes, 'The Collider' has that essential element to it, that challenges you to beat it. It's a very simple but frustrating game. and forces you to play it until you have beaten it ! Its simple fun, and it apparently messes with time and space, as before you know it, you have either beaten it in an hour, and gotten another perfect game to show off on your profile, or you have spent most of the day in front of it, wandering why you can't quite make the last couple of achievements. The collider isn't very original, essentially a simplified 'Race The Sun', or perhaps 'AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity' ... it isn't really that well done ...not many options, variety, or backing music but it works. The game is simply coded to consist of a narrow light tunnel which is constructed to give the impression of motion, with occasional twists and turns, obstacles are introduced which consist of disks with holes of varying shape and size blocking said tunnel, occasionally rotate through which you have to navigate. It has 13 levels which once beaten can be used as a starting point to continue in your efforts to complete the game. These save points make it easier to beat and greatly simplifies the pursuit of the 'perfect game'. Its all about not blinking, turning up the mouse sensitivity, drinking coffee and getting those reflexes sharpened.... if you're like me and really really _REALLY_ old, its going to be really hard....and you will be writing reviews just to get a break! But if you're not out of elementary school you should be done in an hour. Don't think about it, buy this game, don't even waste time looking for a coupon on the forums... buy it now, play it now. You will enjoy.

iOS & Android port, but don't let this take away from the game.
For a few bucks this is actually a lot of fun as a time filler/waster. If you've got fast reactions it's sort of a doddle, and I've got every achievement within 20 minutes of opening the game, without knowing what they were.

If you want a relaxed, yet intense game with an alright soundtrack, here's your game.
