What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As current VR hardware is still being developed and refined, we will be constantly updating MotorSport Revolution to evolve with the ever changing technology requirements of current gen VR head mounted displays. As we will continue this evolution of making continual refinements to our game as the VR hardware is under development, we offer MotorSport Revolution as an Early Access title until there is a consumer version of supported HMD or the final release specs of a commercially available HMD are announced.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“MotorSport Revolution will remain in Early Access until there is a official release date announced for a commercially available VR head mounted display device.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“After final release specs for a consumer version of a head mounted VR display have been announced and finalized, we will make final optimizations and calibrations for that spec hardware. Details might include resolution settings, field of view settings, available cameras, both software and hardware visual settings such as fog, tree culling, and anti-aliasing settings. We will strive to present the best performance and maintain a great experience in a VR setting.

The final version will include a career mode with requires you to race though all tracks and cars before unlocks all available in game content, currently all content is unlocked from first play.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have currently implemented 10 different tracks, 11 different cars to choose, opponent AI, depth and additional surface shading, support for keyboard and microsoft 360 contoller, Oculus DK2 support, and Force Feedback on supported Logitech racing wheel devices.

Full menus allow you to navigate throughout the track and car selection.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Final price not yet determined.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“While a majority of the development on MotorSport Revolution is complete, we want to involve the community in the continued development and finalization of the finished project. As well as reporting any technical issues found in the game, we would like to hear from you what additional content or changes you would like to witness before this game releases. Suggestions might include what additional cars or tracks you would like to see added or other general wishes.”

About This Game

The Game

Motorsport Revolution is a single-player, physics-based racing game inspired by classic console racing games, as well as the popular Le Mans Series, which is considered the most challenging sport racing class in the world. With these influences in mind, we’re creating an epic immersive VR motorsport racing experience where players race the world’s top production-class race cars in the ultimate test on the world’s most difficult tracks.

Motorsport Revolution provides an immersive cinematic automotive journey featuring the world’s greatest cars and tracks. Available with standard screen view, but built from the ground up to take advantage of Oculus Rift VR headset and the unmatched processing power of the PC, our goal is to deliver a unique one of a kind VR, action-packed racing experience.

Core Game Features

• A VR menu display for all cars and race information is designed uniquely with the VR experience in mind (standard display version also supported).
• Over 20 different cars to choose from with unique performance styles, go from drifting to Le Mans Style Endurance Production Cars.
• Challenging adaptive AI that predicts driver weakness and overtakes in key track positions.
• Fastest racing line to help drivers learn the fastest racing line (optional).
• Realtime car damage modeling from race collisions resulting in massive automotive mayhem.
• Racing control via keyboard , Microsoft 360 Wireless Dual Stick Controller or Logitech brand force feedback racing wheels like the G25 and G27

• Robust physics-based gameplay. Every meter of track is recreated, allowing deep development and performance challenges to the player. Learn the tracks, improve your line, and avoid race-ending collisions that damage your car and put you in the pits.
• Optimized graphics delivers amazing physically based material stereo rendering that re-creates the real-life characteristics of thousands of unique materials. Surfaces such as metal, glass, leather, rubber and concrete look real enough to touch.
• Race through 5 progressive performance classes to race from economy sport class to the ultimate formula class performance.

Early Access Review
This game is now early access and I have tried it a little bit but the car handling is not for me, the game is alpha state in my mind, in saying that this game does have potential to grow into something great.

Recently I got to try this with Oculus and this gives the game a whole new look and works well with the Oculus I was amazed at how different it felt and looked from my 3 screen setup.

Due to my little time on the game it is hard to recommend but having the chance to try it with the Oculus and with my triple monitor setup I can only recommend it in the following way.

If you own VR gear: I highly recommend it
If you do not own VR gear: buyer discretion should be used upon purchase

I will follow the game because I believe it has potential and hopefully it will grow with the VR industry

I can see this game having a lot of potential but in its current state I would only recommend purchasing it if you have an Oculus Rift, or if you want to help fund the development of this game. Do not expect a fully playable game in its current state.

I know this game is in early access but at present unless you have an Oculus Rift there are too many bugs for it to be anything more than an alpha build.

+ Lots of potential.
+ Oculus rift support.

- Poor visibility and sound without Oculus Rift.

If you have a DK2 I would definitely recommend this game right now. It's still Early Access but it's already a lot of fun. Lots of different cars and tracks to play. The car feel is more on the arcade side but that's the way I like it.

The developers have wisely chosen to keep the graphics a bit lower so the framerate stays high and it works fantastically. Oculus recommends staying above 75fps at all times and it always was. It was often at 150fps (660ti). This means it's extremely comfortable to play with the DK2.

I can't wait to see how they continue to improve it and what the final game is like.

Oculus support is very good once you have it set up. Not straight forward to set up as is expected with most DK2 games.

I am happy to suppoprt this game and do not regret the purchace BUT...

Logitech Driving Force GT support is currently flawed. The cars reverse on thier own when no pedals are pressed? The car handling will be improved in future updates I am sure but even in comparrison to much older games like LIVE FOR SPEED and even RACE 07. This is the reason I can not currently recommend this game.

Thank you for supporting Oculus Rift!! Keep up the hard work and keep those updates coming I will change my review once the game breaking issue is sorted. I know that it stated supported wheels are Logitech g25/27... I get my G27 tomorrow so will re-review after I test again.

Hope this helps

Not a bad start
I at least liked the game.
Pretty accurate control system and good line-up of tracks
Beautiful weather effects and the system behavior of cars on the road
I think the final will be a successful game.

Неплохое начало
Мне во всяком случае игра понравилась.
Довольно точная система управления и хорошая компановка трасс
Красивые погодные эффекты и система поведения машин на дороге
Я думаю в финале будет удачная игра.

Seems ok for an early access.
Needs more development in the gfx department and UI also needs to be more polished.
Gameplay seems nice.

This is my opinion, and review. For early access support, this is one of my more favored racing games for the rift.
With that said, it needs some polishing, graphics, ETC ETC, but this is early access. For that reason you have to go in, not expecting a full game, this would be great, for demoing to family/friends.

2/10

Bought it to use with the Oculus DK2.
The ONLY thing it has going for it, is the fact that it uses the Oculus.

The cars handle HORRIBLY, a F1 racecar has more play in its suspension then my 1990 talon. SUPER sloppy handling, either the developers didn't give a crap, or they have never driven in a car.

The maps are bland and uninteresting, I played 3 races.. all of them on a circle track. (might have been the same track now that I think about it)

The graphics are crap, looks like a racing sim from the early 2000's

it crashes alot when you try and work the menu.

So yeah, if I had to do it over again, I'd spend my $20.00 elsewhere.

I got it on the Steam Auciton for less then 2 Gem Sacks....

This game runs poorly and feels really bad and I understand why tooo.. Two Words *unity Engine* and the rest was history

This game needs to be completey re-writen on a far better game engine.. UNITY JUST SUCK and can't understand why any one use it to build a game on.

Video in.. 20+ mins on the hardest settings...

intresting time stamps

00:30 - 01:00
02:40 - 03:05
06:00 - 06:55
08:30 - 09:00
11:00 - 13-30 (is just a bad joke in AI and game physics inc handling ect)
14:00 - end, is a bad joke as well

The handling on the cars are super life less. remmindes me of the old SNES game were the car stay in the center and world rotates around, giving u the illusion of stearing . Hell what em I talking around F-Zero and Mario kart handle better then this dose.
AI Cars have NO WAIGHT as you can see... they just simple fall over around conors.
AI brakes WAYYYY to earily
Don't get me started on the audio ether...

Not the worst game ive played, but probably the worst one i've paid for.
I'd have had more fun spending the money on Cigs and smoking them whilst coughing and throwing up as i dont smoke.
